Muggles were creative and incredibly inventive. They had many a thing Alec did not understand and understood he would never begin to understand. Out of all the muggle creations Alec had heard of within his lifetime there was one that he latched onto, one that particularly stood out to him. It wasn't the band called Queen, or the other band called The Beatles, not the song 'This is Halloween', it was 'Baby Shark'. A muggle children's song so nonsensical there was nothing the song could do but stand out to him. After tracking George down to speak to him about the strangeness that had occurred the night of Twirl The Flagon their conversation ended up switching lanes. The two were speaking about muggle things, getting hyper-focused on a random topic as the duo tended to do. Alec was always fascinated as he learned each invention the muggles had created to help improve daily life. He was speaking to George about the wonders of muggle films.

Over the summer and the time he had spent at his cousin's place, Alec had been allowed to watch films. He was told they were old films though Alec didn't mind. Him and Jackie had ended up binging nature documentaries until their cousin made them go outside for fresh air. He had something called a smartphone and played the song for Alec on their walk(as Alec had been speaking of it, and his confusion towards it nonstop). Alec's reaction towards it had been as if somebody had gone ahead and cast the tickling charm on him. It was hilarious to be able to listen to it.

However, there was a slight hiccup in them speaking about muggle things and muggle culture with the very little shared information they both knew(some George had been pretending to not know). He'd never heard of the song 'Baby Shark' and as Alec tried to explain the song's absurdity to George, the other didn't believe him. The duo had recognized not so long ago that they both knew a certain Finnegan Conner. Knowing Finnegan Conner from shark-related avenues, and possessing the knowledge that Finnegan was a muggle-born; Alec knew the best chance he had at finding a person who also knew the song 'Baby Shark' and could accurately explain it to George would be Finn.

Tracking down Finnegan shouldn't have been hard. It's a different story when you're dealing with chatty, easily-distracted fourth years. Ensuing laughter as Alec and George walked. What started out as the duo feverishly searching for Finnegan would morph into a slow pace of walking and talking, eyes searching for Finnegan Every so often. All until Alec spotted him, “oh over there!” Alec shouted pointing to Finnegan who was further out in the crowd.

Alec broke into a bout of mischievous laughter. Bright-eyed Alec was filled with a sense of playful and childish immaturity in one of the best ways. “His back is turned,” Alec whisper-shouted excitedly to George, giving the other a devious look. “We should scare him,” the perfect plan, Finnegan wouldn't suspect a thing.

Grinning Alec reached for George's hand, “come on!” Alec spoke tugging on George's hand. Alec was once again dragging George along somewhere. It was not clear whether it was actually dragging because George could have very well been a willing participant. Alec let go of George's hand when they were but a few steps away from Finnegan. Taking quiet careful steps up from behind Finnegan. “Boo!” Alec shouted. Had Alec been successful in spooking Finn? The odds weren't in his favor, probably not; Alec could have stepped on a branch and been unaware it's snapping sound would give him away. Nonetheless, Alec still thought he was a genius and a smug smile showed proudly on his face.

He looked at Finnegan with the most serious look he could muster within that moment. It wasn't much considering Alec and George were here to ask Finnegan about the song 'Baby Shark'.“He doesn't believe me,” Alec breathed out, pointing to George and shaking his head. The young teen, realizing he was going to have to explain himself more, “I tried to tell George about this muggle song called 'Baby Shark'. He doesn't believe me.” Alec folded his arms across his chest. George would have to realize and come to terms with his error soon. “I thought we should go to you since you're muggle-born. Tell George it's real.” It was unlikely George thought he would end up spending part of his day listening to the intricacies of 'Baby Shark'. It was also unlikely that Finnegan thought he would end up spending part of his day explaining the intricacies of 'Baby Shark' to George. Yet here they were. Alec didn't know about these two but he was certainly going to be entertained by this.

Briefly mentioning @Ivy Bellamy
George had listened to a lot of muggle music. He'd never admit that he had grown up a muggle and been surrounded by it, but he was allowed to know a few oldies. He could just lie and say he'd learned them out of scholarly curiosity, rather than due to his dad owning a record player. However, more modern works had always evaded him. While the training of Ivy had ensured he knew the works of every classical artist from Pagliacci to Beethoven, the works of modern muggles were a complete mystery. Moreover, George had never even used a computer outside of a classroom. It was hardly a surprise that the viral trend "Baby Shark" completely eluded him.

"That isn't real, Alec. I understand that you want to be funny, but I think it's about time we agreed you just aren't cut out for it,"
George said. After a few conversations with him, one had to accept that the constant insults were simply how he chose to show his affection. While he had no doubt that Alec was simply trying to seek out Finnegan as an accomplice to his trick, he was willing to humor the Gryffindor and follow him along, even if only out of a lack of better alternatives. "Okay, but you can't mention the words 'baby' or 'shark', or else I'll know you're just making it up and getting him to play along."

Impish giggles and hearty chuckles abound as the pair scoured the perimeter of the camp, hunting for the smaller lion. While the duo did not agree on Baby Shark, George nodded in silent agreement about the idea of scaring poor baby Finnegan. Searching for avenues of approach, George was wrenched away from his planning as Alec grabbed his hand and pulled him along. People were going to think they were more than friends with the amount of time Alec spent holding his hand, but George would not dare bring that up, lest it result in another Mason Meltdown.

"Boo!" George shouted in unison with Alec, though he glanced at his co-conspirator with a disappointed frown. Really? The best he could come up with was shouting boo like some pound shop halloween decoration? God, he had to make some more clever friends... "Hello, Finnegan."

He folded his arms and listened to Alec speak - until Alec mentioned that they had sought Finn out because he was a muggle-born, reminding George that he had sort of neglected to inform Alec that he, too, was a muggle-born. Because he had sort of lied about it. Well, not necessarily lied about his status - just about knowing what a digital watch was, which he could maybe get away with. He lived quite rural. Not much was digital in Walkerburn. "Well, it sounds quite made up, is all. It seemed like it had one lyric and then just a bunch of sounds from the way Alec was singing it," he said, narrowing his eyes at the other older boy. "If it is real, tell me how it goes. And don't help, Alec!"

Sleep had come easy the night before and despite still feeling a little groggy, Finnegan had escaped the whims of his tentmates early that morning. Led by a growling stomach he'd dragged his feet toward the nearest source of food and, after a spot of breakfast sauntered lazily across the campgrounds until he came upon what looked like a game of improvised Quidditch.

Despite the lack of speed, height, or even skill on display, he had stopped to join a growing audience on a dew-covered gentle slope along the side of the makeshift pitch. In a way, the slower pace was a blessing. Even with Evelynn's omnioculars it had been difficult to keep track of the game between Hogwarts and those foreign schools whose names were too difficult to remember. It was easier to grasp the rules of the game when the quaffle didn't change hands every second or two.

He was so engrossed in observing the amateur game that he failed to notice any of the telltale signs of impending doom. Alec's laughter, George's sniggering, even the sound of a twig being snapped underfoot all eluded him.

Jolting, Finnegan let out a gasp and a curse. A few heads turned, but didn't remain on the little scene that the two grinning fourth-years had caused for long. "What was that for?" Finnegan said, pressing one hand to his heart after he'd jumped up onto his feet. "That's not funny," he snarled, "you could have given me a heart attack.

It didn't take very long for the heat on his cheeks to dissipate, replaced instead by an expression of utter bewilderment. "Baby Shark? You want to know about Baby Shark?" He looked between the two of them and grew increasingly certain that Alec's question was some kind of trap. Unable to figure out what they were up to, he settled on crossing his arms, rolling his eyes, and letting out a deep sigh. "It's a song for kids. Like, you know, young kids.".

One glance at them was enough to tell him they hadn't gotten the message quite yet. He wrinkled his nose at them. "Like, much, much younger. Toddlers." He couldn't emphasize enough how childish that song was and how decidedly un-childish he was. "I'm not singing it to you," he added pointedly before turning toward George Henry. "Flowers won't change that."

Though Alec had quite enjoyed his sneaking up and speaking of Finnegan, others had not. Specifically the person that was getting spooked in this case, Finnegan. The young child jolted, gasping and cursing asking what the purpose of the little spook was as he put as hand to his chest. Alec smiled devilishly and shrugged, leaving the answering up to George, or Finnegan would be receiving no reasoning on it at all. Finn said it wasn't funny though immediately Alec would interrupt, speaking up after, he begged to differ. “It was a little funny,” Alec spoke snorting as Finn argued he could have been given a heat attack. “Last I checked your eleven, not one-hundred and three. The spook wasn't going to give you a heart attack, Finn.” Alec spoke and stuck his tongue out at the younger boy, after such he would tilt his head he in a way as if he were looking at an adorable lost puppy. It was cute of him to make such an insane suggestion.

Quickly the group moved on the focus drifting from the spook of the century to watch George had dragged Alec here for. A topic of the utmost importance. Proving he was right and George was wrong. To get Finn to say the song 'Baby Shark' was real. Because... It was, George just didn't believe Alec. Which was fair, in retrospect, Alec wouldn't have believed himself though maybe that was a thought for another day.

George wanted Finnegan to prove to song was real. He said he had to sing it. Alec would have done anything to prove he was right to George and for that alone nodded vigorously at the suggestion. Alec would find himself sorely disappointed however when Finnegan found himself caught up in the targeted audience of the song. Alec's face soured. Must one not care so much? This was about entertainment and fun! Target audience didn't take away it's inherent value!

Finnegan crossed his arms on his chest and would continue on the talk on the song's target audience. Alec stared and let out a small huff. Not the point, remember the important thing, this is about proving a song to George. Alec squinted his eyes at Finnegan. Did the taste of victory not fuel him as if fueled Alec?

Finn said he would not be singing the song and then looked at George as he said something about flowers. Alec cast a confused look George's way. One, where did the flowers comment come from? Two, flowers were an immensely great tool! They bribery for anybody! Here Finn was saying he could not be bought off with flowers! Alec called lies. False. The most untrue statement imaginable. Alec pouted, “oh come onnn, Finn,” Alec whined, trying to appease the soon-to-be first year. “Your the only one who seems to care about who the song is meant for. Can the satisfaction not once be given to make fun of it?” Alec asked, seeming downtrodden by Finn's rejection of showing George the horrendous wonders of the song baby shark.

“How else is one supposed to be make fun of a song without the proof that it exists?” Alec asked, followed by frantic gestures to George, “the rapscallion over here thinks I'm making it up. At least prove it exists,” Alec spoke shaking his head, Finnegan had to get it, proving the song was real was of the utmost importance. “It's absurd! George needs to know it exists!” How else was one going to do that by singing it? Finnegan would have to sacrifice his pride for this one, there were much more important things at stake.

"Language," scolded George, as he heard Finnegan's reaction. Despite his vocal disapproval, he was apparently quite amused by the younger boy's outburst, smirking down at him as he whinged about how he could have had a heart attack. That would've been quite the sight - keeling over from a heart attack at age 10 was probably the least lucky thing that could happen to a boy aside from meeting George Henry at summer camp before Hogwarts. "Now, that would have been funny."

The Hufflepuff boy seemed to mistake Finnegan's expression of bewilderment for a lack of recognition. He turned his head to his co-conspirator and scowled, shaking his head with disappointment. "I knew you were lying," he grumbled, folding his arms across his chest. But then, Finnegan crossed his own arms and revealed that it did in fact exist. There was a skeptical look when Finnegan insisted that it was for kids younger than him, even though being too young to even attend Hogwarts did make you essentially a toddler.

"You don't need to sing it, just say the lyrics," George pleaded, rolling his eyes when Finnegan brought up the thread of flowers. It wouldn't take a bouquet beat-down to make the boy sing, surely. With himself and Alec's powers of peer pressure combined, there was no way Finnegan was getting out of this with his pride intact. "Maybe to the tune of the song, to help us understand."

He caught Alec's look a bit late, shrugging as if he had simply no idea where the thought of flowers could have come from. George nodded in agreement with most of what the other boy was saying until he was called a 'rapscallion', prompting a quizzical look from him. Sometimes, other students broke out their vocabulary at the strangest of times. "Are you one hundred years old? I'm a rapscallion?"

Discarding that momentary distraction, he put his focus on Finnegan once again, giving him a serious look. "Is it a song, for real? I thought that Alec was just trying to get me to look stupid," George said. It might be nice if Alec got a break from being the one looking silly, he supposed, but stupid just didn't suit George as well as it did Alec. "I'm going to try taking Muggle Studies this year, so it's pretty much imperative academically that you tell me all about this stupid toddler song or whatever it is. And by tell me I do mean sing it. We can get away from the crowd if you like, although, you know - you might impress a few people if you really belt it out."
