Ivy and her mother walked through alleys of shops, confused as to the direction they were going in. They were relatively new to the Wizarding world and weren't familiar with magical resources such as Floo Powder.
Ivy had only received her Hogwarts acceptance letter a few weeks ago, and despite her daughter's straightforward no, Emily Brown took the chance of a scholarship and said yes.
So here Ivy was. In Diagon Alley, shopping for her new school supplies. Apparently, the young girl needed a wand, a Remembrall and potions equipment, not to mention new textbooks and school uniform.
By now, Ivy and her mother had nearly reached the end of their shopping trip. But they still had, in Ivy's opinion, the best shop to visit - a well-known bookshop, Flourish and Blotts.
When the bookstore's sign caught Ivy's eye, her eyes brightened. She handed her mother the shopping bags and raced inside, marvelling at all the beautiful displays. Immediately after stepping on to the soft carpet, Ivy switched into her bookshop mode - quiet voice, skilled fingers, organised book list.
If there was one thing Ivy liked quite a bit, it was reading. Back home, books had been one of the things to keep herself sane, something to look forward to between lessons and events. Books had helped her make all the disappointing, sad and angry things in her life vanish while she imagined in a life of her own.
Ivy bounded through the door to the bookstore and looked around the neatly laid out shelves in awe. The possibilities were endless! Well, endless if Ivy had the patience to properly sift through each book carefully, which she simply did not.
Her attention was quickly caught by a dark navy blue book with violet flecks on the spine, and it wasn't long before the book in question found it's way into Ivy's hands. As someone extremely keen to get ahead the book was one of particular interest which meant it entirely caught her full attention. So much so that Ivy slowly sank to the floor and sat cross-legged to properly focus on the matter at hand.
Thankfully, this particular section of the bookshop was reasonably quiet, so Ivy found herself able to properly read the book. For now, at least.

A Friendship Made With Books
Meeting @Ivy Staling.
Harmonia had left Dogweed and Deathcap, handing the bag of ingredients to her families house elf, Zeekay. "Zeekay, can you please take these back home to my room, I don't want them to get damaged while we shop. I'll go look for my books." Zeekay took the bag and bowed. "Yes miss Melodius." Zeekay replied, apparating away.
With that taken care of she rushed to the Flourish and Blotts, stepping inside and giving a small wave to the shop keep. She made her way down the aisles, skimming the titles, more focused on getting certain subjects over others. Charms and potions, she can't wait to see what spells and potions, she will learn this year.
She wasn't allowed to make potions at home, banned by here mother, but she couldn't really do spells either. Harmonia had read about the Trace used by the ministry, though she's a pureblood she could do magic and they wouldn't know if it was her or her parents or staff. She decided not to take advantage of it.
With a new year at Hogwarts, she can now brew potions and cast spells all she wants. She made last rush to get the Charms book, she turned the corner into the aisle and tripping over something large. She rolled into her side to look what she tripped over to find a girl with a book."Oh I'm terribly sorry, I should have paid more attention. Are you hurt anywhere?"

The last thing that Ivy was expecting in that moment was a girl, with a rather heavy book, to fall over her, but Ivy had come to learn to expect the unexpected since learning about the Wizarding world. Although, a person tripping over her wasn't as unlikely in the Muggle world as it was a dragon flying in unannounced.
"Oh, don't be sorry!" The young girl said cheerfully, holding out her hand to help the older girl stand up. "It's perfectly fine! I'm perfectly fine, to answer your question!" Ivy turned her head to the side to have a look at the girl's book. "Ooh, good subject choice! Charms sounds like a nice class at Hogwarts!" The young girl thought for a minute.
"You are going to Hogwarts, right?" Ivy turned her head away, embarrassed. What if the older girl wasn't going to Hogwarts? Ivy and that big mouth of hers...

Interacting with @Ivy Starling.
Harmonia relax a bit her smile returning. "Well that's good, but if you do start hurting please tell someone." she said, taking the other girls hand together pull herself back to standing. "Yes charms are my favorite then potions, I do go to Hogwarts." she replied, glancing at nearby self of book skimming the titles before her eyes returned to Ivy. "My name is Harmonia Melodius, second year Ravenclaw. I'm guessing your a first year."
Harmonia looked over the younger girl, she looked clever and inquisitive type, she'll probably be ravenclaw like her or maybe Gryffindor. "Have you given any thought on what house you might be sorted in?" she asked,
Yet again she skimmed over the shelves again. Charms is a brilliant class, it gets pretty chaotic with everyone trying to cast the spell we are learning" She said, looking back to the redhead with a amused smile. "Some get it first try, some take a bit, other just have nothing happen, and then... There are those that back fire and cause havoc."
She went and pulled off some more of her text books off her list. It's nice having someone else to talk to while finding you text books. "We could study in the library at Hogwarts too."

"I am a first-year, actually!" Ivy nodded. "Ivy Charlotte Starling, but you can just call me Ivy, or Vee, I don't really mind!" The young girl paused, glancing at the books on the wooden shelves. "From what I've heard, I think I would be placed in Hufflepuff or Gryffindor. My mum says I'll be put in Ravenclaw, but I don't agree with her."
"Charms class does sound pretty cool," Ivy volunteered. "But, personally, I'm rather looking forward to Astronomy and Defence Against the Dark Arts. Definitely not Transfiguration or Herbology, they sound boring."
Reluctantly, Ivy placed the book she was holding on its shelf (although she very much wanted to buy it), and started collecting books from her big list. "You know, I would love to study in the library! I bet they have a real massive one, don't they? Mum says I need to focus more on my academics, especially as I now have a little sister, apparently 'following in my footsteps'." Ivy said this while holding up her hands, doing two quote mark things with her fingers. "She says I have to become a better role-model - meaning no more pranks, no more back chatting the teachers, no more sassiness." Ivy grinned. "But who says I have to listen to her? I make my own rules, and nothing will change that."
