London Town

Potentially soon to possibly run into @Sophie Verlice on his skateboard
Ah, London. It was so many things - Big Ben, world-class museums and galleries, double-decker buses, Buckingham Palace, Tower Bridge, red phone booths, lush parks, financial districts, and cosmopolitan vibes. It was Simon's birthplace and where he had lived his entire thirteen years of life - with the exception of this fantastic wizarding school that he attended for most of the months of a year for the past couple years. He'd be going into his Third Year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, but school didn't begin until the first of September so there was still some time to enjoy London Town.
With headphones in place, he had sunglasses on and the hood of his sweatshirt lifted although it being relatively warm and sunny outside. Well, the sunny part was precisely the problem. Still, one had to enjoy some of the muggle life while he still could do so and with his airpods in and music playing, Simon saw the white crosswalk light change so that pedestrians could cross the way.
He put down his skateboard and took off, trying to carefully mind those passing by so not to disturb them on their way to and from work or just being out and about for the day. To avoid some of the congestion, he took a detour down some steps that would lead to one of the parks. Still, no matter how careful one was, there was always the unexpected lurking around the corner.

"Go outside and take a walk, get out of the house and don't even think about leaving London." A familiar voice hissed, Sophie's mother. "Wait but isn't London big?" Sophie started to say. Too late, her mother already slammed the door shut. The only sound that was left was the wind and the pedestrians. Mom, why? Sophie thought. Why did she have to take a walk? Did her mom think she was overweight or something? No, Sophie is twelve and twelve year olds are not overweight. It started to smell like rain water to Sophie, she didn't really like the smell of that. And there was always someone who forgot to shower, Sophie knew that because she was run over by some muggles and one of them smelled terrible.
I think I should just sneak to platform nine and three quarters and go to Hogwarts instead. She thought. It was an excellent idea but her mother would be worried sick about her and when she finally would find her, Sophie would be grounded for like, five hundred years. Sophie spotted some steps and decided to see what it led to. Then, someone with a skateboard flung out of nowhere and they both collided.
"Ow, Sorry." Sophie said, trying to regain her balance. "Wait a minute, did I see you at Hogwarts before?"@Simon Kincaid

Apologies to @Sophie Verlice
It was a pigeon of all things just as he was taking a corner that he tried to avoid but in doing so, lost his balance and saw the girl. He tried to react in time, but the quick reaction is what threw his center of gravity off even more until BAM!
Simon was on the ground, as was the girl and he hoped he hadn't hurt her, nor had the fall. "My fault, totally my fault. I'm so sorry," he said sincerely as he turned to her to her and then stood, offering up his hand to help her up. She then mentioned Hogwarts and he quickly looked around because one probably shouldn't speak of things like that out loud in muggle public. No one was around - not even that pigeon and Simon smiled.
"First things, first. Are you alright?" if she would take his hand he would help her up and then he would try and look over her arms and such for any type of scratch. He felt just awful for being so careless there, but he truly had thought he was in an empty space.
At least the girl didn't seem upset with him and that was a relief in itself. "Can I buy you a pastry to make up for this?" And maybe they could find a quiet corner to talk. He knew of a good place.

Why is the world spinning She thought. It started to spin, right after this familiar person asked "Can I buy you a pastry to make up for this?" Well okay? That was one weird thing to ask but Sophie liked it. "Um sure you can! What's your name?" She asked. She definitely knew he was from Hogwarts or she saw him at Hogwarts doing something, maybe if she knew his name she would remember this person. And she was hungry so a pastry would help, she also forgot to eat before she went outside. She looked around, and there wasn't anyone spying on them or any animals near the place.
Sophie felt better after a while, the world stopped spinning and everything returned to normal. She didn't hear anything because there were no pedestrians around to make noise and make it almost impossible to talk about wizard stuff. She started looking at the person she crashed into, he looked so much like someone she saw all the time, like a Hufflepuff. "And after you tell me that, can you tell me if you are a Hufflepuff?" She quickly added to hr last sentence. Why is life so confusing, can't it be normal? For just once?

Once she was up, Simon grabbed his skateboard and then began to walk with her, motioning for her to follow him so she knew he was leading the way. They would head back up toward the main roads, back up where there were a lot of people.@To the bakery/bookstore with @Sophie Verlice
"Nice day, today," he said, making casual conversation because now with others around he couldn't talk of Hogwarts of Hufflepuff. Well, he could, but he he wasn't going to risk muggles knowing about the wizarding world because of something Simon Kincaid said within hearing distance. "I hear its supposed to rain later." For someone like Simon, clouds did make it a nice day.
They walked a little ways, not long at all, until they got to Crawfords. It was a bookstore/bakery that his aunt had taken over ownership of many years ago and it was rated at five stars - a difficult accomplishment to achieve. "Pick out anything you'd like at the counter."
It was at that moment that Simon realized they hadn't even made proper introductions yet. That was okay, they could do that after taking a place to sit down. "Ah, my Splendid Simon! Back already!" a young blonde woman said cheerfully from behind the counter. "She's got a thing for using adjectives that begin with S in front of my name...." he said to the girl, trying to explain one of the quirks of his brilliant aunt.

Hmm.. what should I get? Sophie thought. She licked her lips. It was a really nice place in London, and she never knew it existed until today. Maybe London wasn't so bad. "Can I get a muffin, please?" Sophie asked politely. The thought of food made her stomach growl. "How many stars is this place rated?" Sophie asked him. This place seemed great, she wouldn't be surprised if it was rated five stars. Staying here made her think London wasn't so bad after all, unless you count in the weird muggles...
But then, as long as they didn't interfere with her life (or is it her interfering with their life?), everything would be just fine. Wait what- Sophie turned to look around. Why are there books here? Isn't this a bakery? She turned to ask Simon. "Is this a Bookstore or a Bakery?" Rethinking her question, she then said "Or both?" Sophie never heard of a Bookstore and a Bakery in the same shop, but it was a great idea. Then her thoughts shifted over to all the muggles around. She really wanted to talk about Hogwarts and magic, but then they were in London where there were muggles everywhere so that wasn't an option.@Simon Kincaid

Sit for a snack with @Sophie Verlice
Aunt Maggie began showing her where the muffins were located in the case so the girl could pick out which flavor she would like. She glanced up to Simon curiously, but luckily it wasn't her usual who is this girl curious because he knew now that he was in a steady relationship. Still, it was a friend of her nephew's that she hadn't seen before. "Aunt Maggie, this is a friend from school that I nearly plowed down with my skateboard earlier. I'm buying her something to apologize and give us a moment to talk." Aunt Maggie smiled at that, glad he could find a Hogwarts friend in London.
She placed them onto nice little plates and then handed them over the counter, a muffin for the girl and a lemon square for Simon. Sweets weren't his thing but if he was going to have any at all - his aunt knew this was the choice he would choose. She was right.
He motioned her to follow him to a nice cozy corner where they could eat. "It's a bakery and a bookstore," he said as he pointed over to the other side of the store that was lined with books. "My aunt's two favorite things, well, me aside, are baking and books. It was a bakery only originally and she took it over after the former owners got too old and sadly passed on. She's kept it going. They'd be proud of what it is today. I'm proud of her." Simon adored his aunt.
He then realized they really hadn't properly been introduced. After all, Simon could only claim it was 'a friend from school' when talking to his aunt. "I'm Simon. Simon Kincaid. Going into my third year."

Finally, this guy introduced himself! Why did he take forever to even do so? She thought, before she stopped herself, and immediately felt guilty about it. "My name is Sophie, if I didn't introduce myself earlier. Also, I'm going into my second year." She paused, unsure what to say. "Did I see you somewhere?" She had a feeling that she was 99.99999999% sure she had seen him, in the Hufflepuff common room, not just in the great hall eating or whatever. She kept on thinking about that, which made her more sure he was that dude from the broom racing team. Wait, aren't there 2 dudes from the broom racing team? Sophie wasn't sure it was very nice to call someone a dude like that, so she was happy nobody could read her mind. No.... there's 3 dudes, not 2. From what I remember. She kicked herself for thinking about something what her parents would call stupid and useless and the Please don't think about that type of thing.
She shifted her thoughts about what was going on and why, that's what her parents told her to do whenever she had these stupid thoughts. So there are muggles, who are muggles. And there is this Simon guy, who is a wizard. Problem solved.WC: 214

A chat with @Sophie Verlice
In their little corner, Simon felt better. At this time of day, the sunlight was filtering in through the window so it didn't really suit him to sit close to it. Nope, best to stay out of it and he was kind of glad that they were inside and not out in the elements of nature anymore - as much as one could be in the elements of nature in London, any way. She could enjoy her muffin and he would attempt a bite from his lemon square.
"I'd say one of four places, most likely." With her going into her second year and he going into his third, they wouldn't have any shared classes. He also didn't know if she was the type to frequent the Library often so he wouldn't just assume that. "The first theory is the Hufflepuff Common Room. I'm the one that can be found sitting in front of the fireplace, tossing in badly written class assignments or songs that work me into frustration. Second theory is the Great Hall at meal times at the Hufflepuff table although I'm not always present at meal times." Eating wasn't really Simon's thing. "The third would be perhaps you share a dormitory with my girlfriend AngelFyre McCubbin and if her dorm is decorated in the same manner as her bedroom - there's lots of pictures of me to be bad there. The final theory is the house racing team," and he kept it as just racing, because, well, they were in a muggle establishment in muggle London. There was no need to throw around terms like 'broom racing' and cause suspicion.
"Any of those seem familiar?" he asked with a smile. She would probably at least know especially from broom racing. There weren't too many on the team, and he was just one of three boys: himself, Jack Warren, and George Henry.
