The Bonfire
This is Tala's equivalent of an outdoor office. Though previous professors' IC offices have been within the stables, that will be changing for the current professor, who prefers to be outdoors. No matter the weather, this will remain the office thread for Professor Takagi. Don't worry - the bonfire is always lit and is enchanted to burn consistently, so no one will be cold during the winter months. Please ensure the previous visitor to the office has left before you RP yourself entering. The office will be marked as "full" when there is a visitor within to assist with this. Additionally, if the office is marked as closed, there will be no new visitors accepted until the office is once again marked open.
This office thread is for brief interactions and IC questions. For longer interactions with Professor Takagi, please check to see if my threads are open. If they are, you are welcome to send me an owl and we can discuss a separate thread.
One last note. As you will read below, Professor Takagi can always be found either sitting on a log near the bonfire or, during warm weather, sometimes lying on the green grass. Upon entering the thread, you are welcome to god-mode which of these Professor Takagi is doing and join her based on what your character would most prefer to do (sit or lie down, or some other third option - the sky is your limit). With that being said, please keep this within reason. Tala will not lie on the snow in the dead of winter. Finally, sitting and lying down are the only two options I offer. Please do not god-mode Tala doing something else when you enter unless you have been given explicit permission to say so. For such permission, you may reach out to me through owls.

The crackling, ever-present magical bonfire, penned in by stables' stone and surrounded by thick wooden logs to act as benches, acting as a source of warmth even in the most frigid and snowy of Scotland's winter months, was where curious students would always find their new Care of Magical Creatures professor, Tala Takagi, for office hours. Or just Tala, really. The woman, with her bare feet, messy hair, and clothing often visibly covered in cat hair, was not the closest of friends with formality. She had been offered an office, a real one, inside the stables; something about "tradition" and "old professors," but Tala was not traditional, nor was she these old professors, and she quite disliked the indoors anyways.
So those who wished to find her would have to pull no cord or open no door, but rather, simply look out to the pen where their classes were typically held. Tala would always be found sitting on one of the logs closest to the fire, or occasionally lying on her stomach on the soft, ticklish green grass (but the latter only when the weather would be warm enough to do so), often accompanied by some thick old tome about creatures or a stack of parchment essays to be graded. Not the most bookish of types, she would always welcome a distraction in the form of an arriving student with a question... or five.
Students could approach their professor for office hours in one of two ways. They could make their presence known by knocking on the wooden post closest to the ever-open gate, perfectly indicated by a knuckle-shaped indent in the soft gnarled wood atop said post, and hear Tala's excited "Oh, hello! Come right on in!" before entering and joining her ... or, if they so wished, they could simply enter through the gate, join Tala on the log or grass, and begin a conversation with her without waiting for her invitation, so long as there were no other students already commanding the professor's attention. A small, hand-lettered wooden sign in brilliant red ink, hanging from the post closest to the gate, would read: Professor Tala's Office! One at a time, please! to further solidify this rule.
But, at the bottom in very small script, observant students would notice an additional message scrawled in significantly messier handwriting, albeit in the same red ink:
Come talk to me! Unlike some of my creatures, I swear I don't bite!
And whenever this sign was present, students would know that Professor Tala Takagi's office was open for them to attend.
Office hours are currently FULL.
Please wait until the current student has left before joining the thread!

The Bonfire
Volaril walked over to the bonfire. She didn’t know much about magical creatures, but everything she did know made her love them even more. She loved the idea of Thestrals. Volaril had been worrying for so long that she wouldn’t be able to keep up with her fellow students because she was muggle-born. Volaril often would spiral herself into a pit of worry about this. She tended to be an overthinker. She began to walk again and started to think about her parents. “I miss you mom. I miss you dad.” She whispered. “I’m hungry.” She said aloud, and stuffed her hand into her pocket and pulled out a lemon drop. She smiled as the wrapper crinkled as she ripped it apart. Volaril liked the crinkly sound that it made. She popped the drop into her mouth and sucked, she loved the sour flavor. She whistled a tune as she walked.Hello? Professor Takagi?” She called. Then, she noticed the wooden post closet. Volaril Korore knocked one, two, three, four times. As she waited for a response, Volaril hummed. “Hmm hmm hmm hmm hmmmm.. Magical creatures, la la la la they are amazing, la la la la magical creatures…” she made up the silly tune as she waited.
Knowledge is power.
