Starlee's time at camp had been pretty uneventful so far. Sure, she hadn't signed up for as many events as she usually did, but that was mainly because her heart just wasn't in it anymore. Many of her close friends hadn't made it to camp this summer, and she was honestly beginning to second guess her choice to come in the first place. She supposed she probably came to support the Slytherin Broom Racers, not like they really needed her help anyway. What good was being a co-captain of the broom racing team when you were scared of heights?
Starlee's attitude toward camp was reflected quite clearly in her actions, and with no one to relate to, she was acting more closed off, her bubbly self hidden behind her insecurities. She had holed herself up in her tent, only really leaving to watch activities and to eat, with some small attempts to make friends thrown in there, most turning out unsuccessful.
It was now lunchtime, and while she didn't care to eat alone, she did want to eat something, so she finally exited her tent, quickly throwing on a t-shirt and a green jumpsuit, making her way toward the lunch preparations. As she walked, she thought of ways to introduce herself without sounding as awkward as she felt. It wasn't really working, and her attempted 'hype-up' session ended up devolving into more insecurity, and she became entirely engrossed in her thoughts, paying no attention to her surroundings.
"OH!" she yelped, as she collided with someone right in front of her. Her arms flew up to maintain her balance, and she looked up to see a brunette girl standing in front of her. She didn't recognize the girl whatsoever, but that honestly wasn't anything new for Starlee.
She took a step back to give the girl some space, and lowered her eyes to the ground as she began to apologize. Starlee had too many run-ins with mean people, so might as well try not to make an enemy. "I, uh... I'm sorry, I wasn't paying attention. My bad, honestly..." she said rather sheepishly, with a slight American accent, especially accentuated with how she said 'honestly.' While Starlee was raised entirely in Scotland, her parents were both American, and their accent bled into Starlee's, as well as both her siblings, turning it into a Scottish-American mix. An American would be more quick to notice than others, and it was this moment when just that would happen.

────────────────────Just a few days into the camp and Olive was already homesick for Manhattan. This was not to say that she regretted coming to London, since she had been having the time of her life during the past few days. She had signed up for several events and had been happily making international friends since the first day. However, there was something about the bustle of her city, the constant noise and people on every street corner that she missed and couldn’t find here in London. Not to mention the fact that she and her twin brother were practically inseparable and he was still back home. He had no desire to come to London along with her though, so they would be spending the rest of their summers separately, much to her dismay.
It was just about lunchtime that day, but she had lost track of time since sunup. Since there were no events that Olive was busying herself with today, she had taken out her sketchpad and had been drawing various people and places around the stadium since dawn. It was her absolute favorite way to keep busy. Now, looking up at the sky, she realized just how distracted she had become. ”That time already?” she said softly to herself. Rising from her place on the ground, she tucked her sketchbook back in her tent and started to go to lunch.
Olive suddenly heard a bird call from above and glanced in the general direction to see the bird flying high above. She kept on walking, but her eyes stayed on the bird, wishing she still had her sketchbook with her. The bird would have made for an excellent drawing. Out of the blue, she collided with someone else. Since her eyes hadn’t been focused on her surroundings, she had neglecting to see where she was walking.
The girl yelped as Olive collided with her, and Olive felt bad immediately. ”Oh sorry!” she apologized quickly. “I wasn’t watching where I was going.” The other girl started apologizing too, but her apologies weren’t what stood out to Olive. It was her accent. It was slightly American, but also Scottish as well. Olive didn’t recognize the girl from Ilvermorny, but that didn’t mean she didn’t go there. She could just as well be from Hogwarts though, with her accent.“Sorry, but are you from Ilvermorny or Hogwarts? It’s just, you sound like you might be from my school, but I don’t remember seeing you around.” Olive looked curiously at the girl, waiting for a response.────────────────────STA: 7 | EVA- 7 | STR- 2 | WIS- 7 | ARC- 5 | ACC- 7────────────────────

It appeared the girl that she had run into was just as apologetic as Starlee was, and she began to feel a bit better, even though she still felt it was her fault. Starlee was preparing to just continue onward to lunch, when the girl asked her a question somewhat out of the blue. Was she from Ilvermorny or Hogwarts? That was something Starlee was somewhat used to, being almost Scottish in every way aside from her parents. Her fellow students at Hogwarts would sometimes question her background after a trip to the states, wanting to know more about why she had the accent she did as it was just that unusual. It was clear that the girl was definitely American however, although with what she thought was more of a Northern accent than the Southern one she was used to from her muggle Grandpappy. She must be from Ilvermorny herself then.
"I- uh, I'm from Hogwarts actually." she told the girl with a sheepish grin, her American accent showing itself once again in the word 'actually'. "My parents are American though... Both of them grew up in the States. You must be from Ilvermorny then?" she asked, once again feeling her confidence begin to rise. Talking to people wasn't so hard after all! " I've never been, but its where my Pa went! I'm Starlee, by the way." She neglected to tell the girl her last name as she typically did, nerves causing her to be more on edge than usual.

Sorry for the wait and how short this is! I didn't want to get right into the realization yet, I wanted the two to talk a little more to realize it!

────────────────────In her curiosity, Olive temporarily forgot about running into the other girl and the hurried apologies that had brought them together in the first place. The girl's mind tended to wander from one thing to the next at an astonishing speed most of the time. As the girl revealed she was from Hogwarts, some of Olive's curiosity was satisfied and began to fade. "That makes a great deal of sense now," she said in reply. If the other girl's parents had been from America, it made total sense why she had the odd sounding accent.
"Yes, I'm from Ilvermorny. Both of my parents went there, that's where they met, in fact. My mom lives in Mississippi and I live with my dad in Manhattan now though," she revealed, probably giving the Hogwarts girl a bit of an information overload. "Sorry, I tend to be a little too talkative at times. Nice to meet you Starlee, I'm Olive," she said in an introduction.
Shifting her weight from one foot to another she smiled sheepishly. "Again, I'm sorry for running into you." In the quick beat of silence that followed, Olive took the initiative to continue their conversation. "So, if your parents are both from America, why did they move here? Not that England is not lovely and all, but why?" Yet again, Olive found herself becoming more and more curious as the time went on.────────────────────STA: 7 | EVA- 7 | STR- 2 | WIS- 7 | ARC- 5 | ACC- 7────────────────────
