An Evening By The Lake
Lifina wandered over to a bench beside the Great Lake and opened up her copy of The Standard Book of Spells Grade One. She flipped through the pages and pages of spells, reading quickly. She wasn't looking for any particular spell, but she figured that knowing the basics of some would give her a jump on her lessons.
She flipped through the A's. "Aberto, Accio, Aguamenti,..."
... and all of the way to the very last spell in the book, Wingardium Leviosa. She sighed. "This book only has 30 spells in it! I want to learn more! Like, what's the spell for dying hair? Or tying shoes? Or conjuring a shield? THAT would be a useful spell!" She muttered angrily, standing up. She set her book down on the bench and starting pacing, muttering angrily to herself. "Will they teach anything other than these spells this year? This isn't nearly enough! I want to be powerful, like Albus Dumbledore! How did he learn all of these odd spells? And-"
At the moment, she lost her footing and plunged into the lake. The shock of the cold water hitting her from every side stunned her, and she sank several feet before she came to her senses. Panicking, she tried to swim upward, but found she couldn't. She looked down, and there was a grindylow latched onto her left ankle. She tried to hit it with a stunning spell, but got a mouthful of water and only a sad little bubble came out of her wand. The grindylow smiled devilishly as is pulled her deeper down. Dark spots were swimming before her eyes. This couldn't be the end! She tried to kick it with her other leg, but to no avail. Darkness swam before her eyes, and she slowly... started... to... lose... consciousness...

An Evening By The Lake
Lilly-Anne was travelling back up to the castle form her afternoon walk when a huge splash echoed in Lilly's ears. Thinking it was other kids playing around in the great lake even thoe the sun had already begun to set. she ignores it and continued walking until she noticed there was no laughter coming from where she heard the splash.
Dropping her bag, she made her way to the edge of the great lake that light bounced off as the sunset.
Noticing something sticking out of the water, she pulled out her Astronomy Binoculars from around her neck and looked through them.
Stunned and just reaching the water level of the great lake was a hand, this immediately told Lilly something wasn't right and the person in the lake needed help.
Stripping off the outer layers of her clothing and pulling her wand out, she made her way into the murky water of the great lake avoiding the giant squid's tentacles with her wand held in front of her. Glancing up to make sure she was going in the right direction towards the hand was when Lilly realised that the person had slipped below the water line.
Cursing, Lilly swam below the water surface and could just make out a cloudy figure being dragged fether down into the murky deeps by the grindylow with a vicious smile.
Quickly Lilly thought of the bunch of spells and shot at the person with a bubble head charm as it was the first thing to come to Lilly's mind., that allowed them to breathe while Lilly fought off the grindylow.
Shooting another spell but this time a stunner at the grindylow caused it to let go and allow Lilly-Anne grab what appeared to be a girl and that the girl's eyes were rolled back into her head.
Lilly struggled to pull the girl to the surface because she was nothing more than deadweight.
Reaching the edge of the lake, Lilly pulled her self and the girl up and into the safety of the in the embankment.
But before lilly was able to catch her breath, she knew she had to check if the girl was still breathing beacuse it took lilly a little over 5 minetes to battle the water and grindylow away to reach her.
Reaching over the girl with her hand, she laid to figures on the girl's neck and at this point was able to pick up an accelerated but a heartbeat was present.
This ment lilly was able to reach the young girl in time, Lilly thought thank god for that.
But as lilly was so echusted that she had no effort to go inside and the girl would be no help at this piont untill she woke up but none the less, lilly pulled gril under a tree out of the cold chilles of the night sky.
Standing up with the very little effort she had left, lilly headed to her back pack a few distance away, she grapped her extra robe form her bag to cover the girl after she made her way back to her with her bag.
Using the robes she left on the shore, lilly was able to gain some wormth back into her frozen bones and set making a firee the old fashoined muggle way untill a teacher came arcross them.
somemtime later the girl next to lilly begin to stir.
