A Forever Friend
Winter smiled, the happiest look on her face as she was now able to afford her very own pet. The girl hadn't been looking for one animal in specific, her being an animal person, she was going to go with whichever animal would choose her not one of which she wanted. Winter walked through the doors of the pet shop 'Magical Menagerie'. Upon entering she had met eyes with the lovely shop owners, old but obviously full of light. She waved with a kind smile as the couple had as well, the short, adorable old lady making her way over to Winter. "Why hello dearie, what is it you're looking for today?" she asked, her voice soft.
"O-oh uhm hello ma'am, nothing in particular. I'm here to adopt a pet, i want to be chosen by it though instead of the other way around" she spoke with a smile as the old lady held out her hand, awaiting Winter to place her hand to the old lady's. "Wise wise mind, come ill show you what pets we have available" the shop owner took the dhampir around the shop, most of the animals not being interested in her much. It wasn't until she reached a large cage that had been against the wall on the far corner of the shop that she had felt something within her awaken. She had seen three small animals running around and playing in tubes and other fun objects.
Winter having never seen these adorable creatures before had turned to the shop owner with a confused look on her face. "What is it, never seen a ferret before, they are quite common in the muggle world they find them to be amusing pets!" Winter's eyes fixated on one in particular, it was running back and forth crazily, seemingly excited by the girl's presence. "A ferret you say? What about this one?" she pointed to that exact one, the most energetic of the bunch. "Oh- your going for our little zoomer i see, this little rascal is constantly running around in need of attention, plus he can never sleep alone.. poor fella has separation anxiety" the lady gave the little ferret, runt of the group a look before turning her head to scan my face, a smile creeping onto her cheeks as she opened the door to the cage, allowing winter to reach her hand inside.
Winter had stuck her hand within the cage, no hesitation whatsoever. The ferret smelling her hand before crawling straight onto her arm and up to her shoulder to examine her further. Winter giggled at the feeling of its whiskers on her pale cheek, the ferret making quiet sounds as he slid down her chest, landing into the pocket on her robe. "Ill take him" she smiled as the lady nodded in response, her husband still smiling from the front of the shop. She reached her hand into her pocket where the small animal held her hand, nibbling gently on her fingers. "Koja. Ill name you Koja"
