Nick was born to a well off family in Birmingham on June 4th, 2010, he never knew struggle and was often just living life as a dream it would seem. He grew up around Magic, his mother always making he cleaning duties at home much easier with it. Nick's mother was a kind beautiful lady, one he got told he looked like more often than his father and something he was thankful for.

His parents were yin and yang when it came it to parenting, his mother (a social worker) being the loving caring one who always was trying to please and spoil her only child. His father (a lawyer) however was caring in a different way, extremely hard on the boy, trying to make him the best he could be even if it meant sacrificing some of the fun of being a kid. Nick never really grew to resent his father for it, or feel like he had a terrible father. He just wanted to live up to what his father wanted from it, ever more of a child trying to fill the shoes he was given, and somehow enjoying the process.

Of the few fun things Nick did get to do was watch dueling on the tv at home, something him and his mother both enjoyed watching. Nick reasoned would always tell his father that he would one day be a great duelist, often receiving a "Humph", while his mother believed in his spoken words. His father didn't hate magic by any means, but he did feel as though dueling was less likely for Nick than becoming a baseball player. And that was what his father wanted him to work towards. Nick enjoyed the game, a catcher and shortstop who loved being able to constantly be in the action of the game. But it also included some things that he didn't enjoy, most notably waking up too early for travel games.

Though in reality his father cared far more about Nick's education and development than anything, constantly handing Nick books that would teach him about life. Psychology books, history, medical books, all kinds of random non fiction books that he found value in, he handed to his son. And Nick read everything that came his way, and he did enjoy it. He of course like any kid found times when he would enjoy a book that wasn't about the world, reading plenty of young adult series as well. In the end before going off to Hogwarts there was one thing Nick regretted that he wanted to change, his social life. He was by no means unpopular at school, but he also didn't really talk to his friends at school, outside of school. He was simply too busy, a tactic made by his father who thought young friends were overrated and toxic. But Nick was determined to change that with the new opportunity.

First Year at Hogwarts

Nick was ecstatic finally reaching Hogwarts and escaping his overbearing Father. He loved him and didn't resent him, but he also was grateful. After making it past the train ride and into Hogwarts he managed to get placed in Gryffindor. He hadn't really minded where he would have ended up, his mother was a Hufflepuff in her time but she had made it clear she wouldn't be upset. She knew he wasn't like her. After the ceremony Nick began classes, meeting a few people and felt like the overall atmosphere was much friendlier than home. He enjoyed going to class and reading books in the library or enjoying the school grounds.

Nick and Willow met during a late night Astronomy class, a broken camera created an interaction that resulted in introductions. After Willow was having trouble staying awake in class Nick offered to help her afterwards.
