Name Elias' name was chosen by his grandmother, with the definition being close to "The lord is my god". His grandmother was very religious, and Elias finds it endearing that that was his chosen name. Holloway means "holy spring", but Elias doesn't really care about his last name. There was no choice in him having it, so it means virtually nothing to him. Nickname While Elias was in private school, his sociable classmates called him "Eli". He thought that someone giving him such a nickname was sweet, and doesn't mind if anyone uses it to address him. However, his nickname to himself is "Lee", and while he can't remember who had ever called him that, he constantly uses it in private. Date of Birth Elias has never celebrated the day of his birth and has no plans to do so in the future. To him, November 23rd has no meaning, just the day he was born. Gender | Pronouns Elias is a cisgender male and uses he/him pronouns.

School

Elias went to private schools and when he was out he was scheduled with private tutors. Piano lessons, violin lessons, chess, history, foreign languages. His school life was dull and gray in Elias’ words.
He was overjoyed at the letter! Finally a break out of the monochrome life! So was his mother, God only knows how Elias’ father reacted.

House

When he was sorted into Ravenclaw, there was almost no shock from the people around him. His mother was ecstatic over the news. Ravenclaw is the best house for great wizards. Elias doesn’t have an opinion on his house. He could have been placed anywhere and it wouldn’t change him in the slightest.

Best Class

Herbology! Elias greatly cares for early beings. There’s almost a skip in his step when he walks to the classroom. He has yet to tell his mother his favorite subject, always using the cover of “I’ve been studying Potions”. If only she shared his love for herbology...

Worst Class

Defense Against the Dark Arts. It’s not as if he has a low grade, he's just not very good. His mother has no comment on it really, he has a good grade.

Elias was born in a very rich, fortunate family. His mother was always involved in every bit of his life, ever since the day he was born. What friends he would have, what he would wear everyday, what he would eat for breakfast. Most importantly, his personality and how he would show himself to others. Elias was going to be a shining boy. A perfect man.
His father, he has never seen. Not at his birth, school events, award ceremonies. Not even as he was getting on the train to go to Hogwarts. He could be dead for all Elias knew. At least, if he was no longer alive, it wouldn't be so saddening that he never appeared.
Elias went to church every Sunday. Prayer book in hand, stacked with a bible and pearl rosary. He never needed to confess his sins, for mother made sure he would never turn on God’s word. However, when he turned ten, Elias asked his mother to stop making him go to church. After a long and heated debate, his mother finally agreed to stop going every week.
However, Sundays turned to violin and piano lessons. She always claimed it was so Elias wasn't busy while she was off at church. Elias never liked his tutors. He would have to keep notes, music scores, perform the new song to his mother, and talk at length about the new chess strategy he learned. It was more boring than just going to church.
With what little free time he had, Elias would spend much of his time drawing art pieces. He focused primarily on realism art. Not of people, but of whatever he found the most boring that day. Most are chess pieces and angels wrapped in music notes. If one were to see his art, perhaps they would learn a bit more about his true feelings.

His first magical experience happened while playing his best game of chess. Chess was such a wonderful game, people didn't rage over it, and flip tables. No, people manifest, think overly, practically diagnose your competition with what moves they'll take next.
Elias was sitting across a man who seemed to be halfway to a century old. The man is thinking about his next move- what could a 10-year-old do? He makes a special move. Illegal by no means, however special none-the-less.
Elias stares at the man's pawn. Hoping it to disappear; to turn to sand and become one with the ocean. The board begins to shake. Take a blink, and you'd miss the moment. All the pieces had fallen, but the pawn still remained standing upright. Both Elias and the old man stand suddenly and stay in a complete silence.
The old man broke the silence to call for his mother.

Mother: Danielle Holloway
A wealthy muggle-born witch, who attended Hogwarts some years ago. Elias is her pride and joy, though she knows he'll never meet his dad. To make up for the guilt she feels by not letting Elias ever see his dad, she's become incredibly overbearing and cares too much for him.
Since Elias' father makes so much money, Danielle spends her time volunteering at schools, and animal shelters. You name it, there's probably someone there that knows of "Danielle Holloway".

Grandmother: Marie Holloway
Marie was a muggle, who loved her daughter regardless of if she was a witch or not. Her husband left her because of this, and hasn't spoken to Marie or Danielle, since his daughter turned eleven.
Marie is very religious and is one of the main reasons Danielle was so insistent on going to church every Sunday. She's very proud that both her daughter and grandson can both use magic, and takes much pride in knowing that her grandson will grow to be a powerful wizard.

Father: Name is still unknown to Elias
While Elias' father is still in contact, and still married to Danielle, he refuses to meet his son. The reasons are completely unknown to Elias, and his mother won't tell him why.
