Of Green Fields and Memories
Bea was bored. Not in the I have nothing to do sort of way, but in the I don't want to do any of the things on my list of things to do. She had plenty of homework that she guessed she could do (she would, just in a mad panic and crying over not doing it sooner) and there was the reply letter that she had to write back to her Nan. The old woman had told Bea that she would not accept another letter without it mentioning friends. Beatrice smiled ruefully. She had mentioned some people in other letters, but that obviously didn't satisfy her Nan.
Maybe that was why she found herself outside, sitting outside on the green grass of Hogwarts. It was Spring, when the grass would grow. She hoped Mr. Cespedes let it grow long. Bea had always loved rolling down the hills in the long green tufts. The meadows back home had always been her safe haven, spending days reading and playing with the dogs. Watching the goats was another favourite past time. Her heart gave a little tug. She couldn't wait for the end of the year when she could spend all day in those fields with the dogs, maybe with Nan too.
Tugging her leather backpack from her shoulders, she removed the sketch book from its inner sanctum, a quill and some ink. This was a good a place as any to write the letter to Nan.
