Confetti eggs, ones filled with colorful powder, others practically glitter bombs, he’d outdone himself this time. One might wonder how it could possibly get better and Elsian himself would be hard pressed for an answer. That is, if Sage hadn't already put one such bright possibility in his head. What was this glorious idea? Slime. More importantly glittery, colorful slime that filled what little had remained of the empty colored eggs shells. Said slime having cost him the rest of his gold glitter he’d had.

He flicked at the empty tube, willing whatever mere flecks were left to fall into the red and gold slime pooled in the final colorful red eggshell yet to be sealed shut. He quickly glued the opening shut, shoving a few extra layers of the tissue paper together before using it to cover the opening in a bid to make it thicker before finalizing it with a simple spell. It wouldn't do for the slime to break the paper after all, at least not before he got the finished product to his friend. She was gonna love this!

Kitty,” he called, carefully setting the egg into the carton. The rest of his things were quickly put away, aside from said last egg carton; no matter how he tried there was no room. Not unless he was alright risking a few getting crushed. He’d have to carry it then.

Oh well.

Kitty!” He looked down towards the tall grass where said spider was happily lazing about near the water, “Kitty c’mon, time to go.” he didn't want to go near the water, didn't fancy it like she did. He’d happily stay on his perch atop this nice, tall, boulder he’d found. Thank you very much! Thankfully, she didn't need fetching, soon enough leaping through the grass and skittering up the cool rock.

She climbed onto the carton, seemingly taken with the colorful eggs and he let her for a few moments before shooing her off and up onto his shoulder. She crawled around seeming a bit restless but that hardly surprised the boy, she had been surprisingly lazy the past few hours while he worked.

Alright that's enough,” he laughed, picking up the box. Kitty pounced.

Kitty!” he squawked horrified, “Kitty no!” The carton tipped sideways, struggling to stay steady with its new weight. It tipped, and Elsi threw himself backwards to try and save it, hoping his lap to be a better cushion than a tumble to the ground from this height, somehow it worked. It wobbled horridly and the carton was by far more strained than when he first got it but the eggs were fine and Kitty, thank god, seemed happy to just sit atop the eggs. Legs twitching distinctively against the gold and red dyed ones.

Bless her tiny spider heart, at least she was loyal.

You’re lucky you’re cute,” he grumbled without heat, getting the spider off and back onto his shoulders as he made to slide down. Half open carton shoved to his chest and dragged his backpack down as his shoes scuffed against the rocks side.

Kitty did not like that. She clambered up onto his head in retribution.

Well, he supposed he wouldn't like being jostled from where he wanted to sit either but she would just have to live with it. Gripping the strap of his bag he let gravity to the rest of the work once it was close enough to the ground, taking the moment for his newly free hand to fully close the carton shut. Or that would have been what happened. Apparently pausing and the threat of the colorful eggs being locked up was enough to stir the spider from her perch on his head; a face full of spider was never pleasant despite what Kitty might think otherwise and Elsian flinched abruptly at the move. “Kitty!” he squealed, shoving at the spider as gently as one could when being smothered, “Kitty just wait!

But she would not be stopped. Happy to fling herself atop his hand and for lack of better description, violently wiggle herself into the carton. It was not meant for this type of weight, not this type of strain, and when it came down to saving Kitty or the carton from taking a tumble against rock as he lost his grip and the thing threatened to bend in half, well…safe to say he snatched Kitty. Hissing at her mighty annoyed as she squirmed and wheedled.

Eggs were flung into the air with the force of Kitty and Elsi’s poor grip spring boarding them into the air. About 4, as the rest of the box bounced and skid atop the rock to the ground as a few were sent rolling into the tall grass like it was Easter Sunday from the ajar box. He was left wondering how many would be salvageable, half-heartedly glaring when Kitty was able to squirm herself free and rushed excitedly in all her spider glory to the red and gold egg in the grass. He should have just let her keep it. “Oh you’ve done it now,” he hissed, scrambling down onto the grass, “see if I don't get one of those leashes afte-

A sickening crack filled the air, a wheeze of horror, and Elsi could feel his face go ashen as he realized what had happened. Oh, please let it be fine. Please let it be fine…

He peeked around the boulder.

Gryffindor red slime dotted with gold flakes oozed down the girl's head and shoulders, matting the strands and serving as a glue to the pink egg shell chips littering her head. She looked decidedly not fine.

Bloody hell,” he hissed, distantly wondering if he was about to get torn a new one. He’d deserve it at this point.

But! He could fix this! Magic it away if the other couldn't! “I’m so sorry,” he rushed, quickly stepping from behind the boulder, though he was careful to avoid getting too close to the mess of slime on the ground. He’d clean that up in a bit. After he was sure he hadn't gotten glitter and egg shells in the others eyes…

EVERLY had actually been having a decent day up to this point, believe it or not.

May came with the daunting shadow of exams, and while Everly had been staying up later than usual to study, ready to impress, she'd been trying her best to keep up with a constant sleep schedule. Of course, it wasn't constant. She found that it often varied; on some days, she'd sleep like a baby, on others, it was like her brain refused to shut down. On others, it was simply other bothers, like one of her dormmates being too loud. Eventually, though, the lull of sleep would draw her in, though it often ended up being through a Sleeping Draught, as fashionably late as it was.

Though her sleep schedule needed work, it was not the only thing that did. She figured that studying in her dormitory was probably not working out too well. After all, people were distracting, and she often found herself doing something that was decidedly not her homework. Maybe things would fall into place once she got that part of her life together.

The weather was slowly creeping toward warmer and warmer, and though it was still rather cold, in her opinion, the chilly weather might be a nice setting to work in. Adorned in a thick sweater and jeans, she'd head outside, thinking that she'd be able to study a bit outside, so she was clutching a bag filled with textbooks, writing instruments, and a book in case she got tired of studying, which she hoped wouldn't be the case. Normally, she'd be tailed by her bengal, Tzahala, but Tzahala had been acting cranky lately and sleeping more often. Bowls of cat food were often left untouched. She hoped she wasn't sick, and instead in a mood, but if it got worse, they'd have to go see the nurse.

Everly had already picked out a perfect place to work, a little hill with a tree overlooking the lake. She made her way towards her spot, holding her bag closer to her chest as the wind picked up.

The events following happened in slow motion.

Something—or, rather, some things—hit her head and shoulders dead-on. Everly's breath escaped her chest as she let out a gasp—or, more, a wheeze—when she saw the goopy, red-and-gold substance all over the front of her sweater and bag. Her hair now stuck uncomfortably to the back of her neck, and her bag was completely covered. She cringed, knowing that the insides must be completely ruined by now. Something in the corner of her eye was obscuring her view, and she picked out a—was that a pink eggshell?

She was a complete mess.

An apology came from behind the boulder, and she turned to face the culprit. Her eyes widened as she took in the scene behind her. The grass was littered with slime, and she carefully maneuvered herself away. Everly wasn't going to risk ruining her shoes too.

"You'd better be," she said, examining her sweater, trying to pick off the chips and excess slime. "Y'know, I really liked this sweater."
