Hello i am new. I am Edward. I just have a small question: why in the common rooms, we have to collect the money every 24 hours? Why can't we change that and wait 1 hour instead?

I'm assuming it's because Hogwarts takes place real time. So one day at Hogwarts is one day in real life. And you collect your scholarship money once a day, so that's why I'm assuming it's every 24 hours. I mean if they decide to make the time you wait less, I'm all for it. But that's the reason why I assume they set it at 24 hours. It also makes you have to save up your money if you want something nice.

Best part though is that they recently made a new change.
Before you only used to get 1 sickle per day (every 24 hours).
Now you get 10 sickles per day (every 24 hours).
So I'm very happy about that change.

You still have to save up your money to get things but at least it takes way less time now!

In character, I'm pretty sure the scholorship isn't a thing. But OOC, it's similar to how in some mobile apps you get rewards for coming on regularly. Plus, if it was every hour, that would be encouraging people to stay up all through the night to get their scholorship, which wouldn't be good for them. I hope that helps ^^

@Edward Lamb- in addition to what Kim said, I would also add in my opinion. Due to how cheap everything is I'm just saying- if we were to do hourly scholarships- then we would easily get everything, and so, we would quickly get bored of everything and perhaps our characters as well, because they already have everything.

I personally like getting it every 23h, as it's something I look forward to getting. It's part of many motivations I have for HiO

EDIT: Luce is also right

:eyes: For roleplaying? It's in Diagon Alley. I don't think you're a part goblin, so you wouldn't be able to get the extra five sickles a day.

I kind of agree with Noah and kind of don't agree ahahahaha!

I like the idea of saving up my daily money to purchase things but I would prefer the old prices to remain the same. I mean I get why the price changed because the amount of money you get changed but I'm just saying in a perfect world for ME the money would change to the current amount per day that it is now but the old prices would stay the same, despite the amount of money you receive increasing. This way you'd still have to save up your money to purchase items but the items would still be the same price, so it wouldn't take AS long as it currently does.

Such as the Silver Arrow I wanted. The old price was 60 galleons which is a ton. As you only got 1 sickle per day instead of the 10 sickles you get now. The new price is 173 galleons. So just saving up your daily money it would still take you 1 year and 6 months to get it, which is a LONG time. If the money increased to 10 sickles and the broom was still 60 galleons, you'd still have to save up for awhile but it wouldn't be over a year. It would be... saving up for 6 months to purchase it. Saving up for 6 months imo is still a long time but it's worth it as you get a great item. But it also doesn't seem like it would be TOO long a time, so you're more willing to accept this.

Saving up for 1year6months seems way too long to do for me. But that's just me. Again, I understand why the broom prices rose bc of inflation etc... but I'm saying in a perfect world for me, the money would be 10 sickles per day but the old prices of items including brooms would remain the same. You still wouldn't be able to get things easily or fast and you'd have to save for them. But the time you spend saving for them and the item you get will feel like it's more worth it to me. Versus the prices of everything raising and the money raising because essentially it still seems as if it takes forever to get what you want. I mean saving up for 6 months versus saving up for 1year6months is a GIGANTIC difference for me. But yeah, thats just my thoughts on the matter. I'm not expecting anything to change.

Just thought I'd add my opinion.

@Luna Queenie
