Mei walked through Diagon Alley. She had a small cloth pouch in her right hand that contained just enough money to get the pet she wanted. She didn't know which pet she wanted though. She had passed by this place many times. She often stared into the window from afar looking at all the different types of animals. There were so many.

Mei made her way to the shop. She stood outside of the shop hesitating. Do I really want this? she questioned herself quietly. She looked up at the sign. Magical Menagerie. Magical collection of animals or Magical Place of Animals Mei had done her research as she didn't know what menagerie meant at first but she did now. A collection of wild animals kept for exhibition. Mei took a deep breath before walking into the shop.

She stared in awe. It was even better than she imagined. It was quite crowded though as there were quite a few students here buying pets as well. She looked at each section. She stood in front of the owls watching them as their large round eyes darted around. She watched the cats. Some cleaned themselves while others meowed for attention.

Mei walked around some more before stopping in front of toads. She swore she saw toads in every shade of green possible. She moved on stopping in front of the rats. Disgusting creatures to Mei. However she was sure that someone would want them. Mei walked away from the rats rather quickly.

Mei froze. The pygmy puffs. They looked so soft. Mei longed to hold one but refrained from reaching out towards them. No need to touch anything if she's not going to buy it. Mei moved on. Lizards. One of her favorite animals. It was tied in first with owls. She looked at all the different types of lizards. Mei found them quite fascinating.

Mei was pushed to the side by an eager student. She let out a sigh and looked up to see a spider. She gushed about it out but covered her mouth. Mei was not scared of spiders but she did scare people with them. People at a school she went to would scream when they saw small plastic spiders sitting on their desk. The ones that looked a little too realistic.

Mei stopped in front of the bunnies. They looked almost as soft as the pygmy puff. Again Mei had to stop herself from reaching out to go pet them. Then there were the ferrets.They were quite cute to be honest but it wasn't the right pet for Mei. She moved on and walked straight past the fish.

Mei didn't care for fish as pets either way. She walked to the center of the shop and looked around once more. Mei took her time to think about what pet she would want for the next seven years. Mei walked over to the pygmy puffs then shook her head and walked over to the cats once more. She looked over the different types of cats and chose one of them. Mei walked over to the nice old lady who ran the shop and began to pay for the cat.
