ʟᴏᴄᴋᴇᴅ Let the worries go

Nataly wasn't tired. No, she was exhausted. All the new information she had to learn, all the homework she had to do, new environment to take in, new people to meet, because of all this Nata was emotionally drained. Also, she missed her parents a lot. Of course, she wrote to them a few times a week, but she wanted to see them in person. Talk to them, see their smiles and get a warm hug. But that wasn't possible for now. Holidays felt so far away...

Nata didn't want to seem weak. She acted like everything was fine, but at least she was honest to herself. And one evening, while reading in the Common room, Nata felt that she needed to get all this feelings out of her system or she would just blow up at the spot. She wanted to feel alive again, stop living from one lesson to another and just relax her mind a little. That's when she remembered the Rehearsal room. Nata quickly got to her dorm, changed into a sports suit (she hoped she could train at Hogwarts), threw her sneakers into her bag and left the common room. Nata didn't want to think too much about her decision, because if she did, she would most likely get scared and change her mind. So, while she was walking through the hallways she was choosing which dance she felt like doing. Nata had a few options. But she decided to wait and see, what the room looked like.

"Oh.. my.. god..." Nataly was shocked. The room was HUGE. She looked around and noticed a record player in the corner. A bar stuck to the wall reminded her of a few ballet lesson that she took. Nata didn't want to do ballet now, but this bar was convenient for other students. She stepped in the room and heard the doors close behind her. Nata didn't know if the door's shut or not, so she asked the closest portrait. "The door closes by itself, so the sounds don't disturb anyone in the hallways, but you can lock it if you want to." Nata wanted to close the door, so no one accidentally walks in, while she dances, but she also didn't want to take up all this space alone. After a small inner battle she left the door unlocked. "Let's just hope no one comes..." She thought while she put on her sneakers.

To start Nata wanted to run a few laps around the room , but it felt weird for some reason, so she decided to do a quick warm up on the spot. After doing the basics Nata did a combination of jumps and dashes that her coach taught her. It was made to let her warm up in a few minutes with dynamic exercises (if she was late for example).
Nataly was ready to start. The silence of the room felt uncomfortable, so she decided to put on any record, just so it wouldn't be quiet in here. Looking throw the records she found one, that she used to perform too. Nata didn't remember all the steps correctly, but she always could change it up a little (not that anyone would notice anyway).

Nata put the record in, stood in front of the mirror with both hands behind her back looking down and waited for the second beat to start. The dance began. The music was slow and Nata went with it. She always felt the music on emotional level. She felt like she became one with this melody and if someone walked in they wouldn't see her, they would just hear the music. Nata remembered the competitions that she did with this dance, it was her first win then. The moves that she forgot came to her as the music went on. She was living in the moment, in this melody and that's all that matters.

The last beat sounded, Nata was standing in the final pose smiling. She was out of breath, since she didn't practice for a while, but the worries finally let her go. The applause that started a few seconds later were a surprise. Nata turned around to see who was it, but just saw the portraits clapping and smiling. She bowed and let out a small laugh. She almost forgot that they were there. Now she was going to stretch for a few minutes and go back to the common room. And maybe, while she sits here, she could meet someone that also came here to dance?
