Being a member of the Beauxbatons broom racing team was something Enzo took quite seriously. While the initial appeal he had to this sport was likely based on the fact he was going against his parent's wishes, there was no denying that he had actually found a hobby that he truly did enjoy - funnily enough one that involved other people.
He had just been so drawn to it. The thrill of sitting atop your broom, rushing through the wind, urging your broomstick to go past its speed limit, was simply a feeling like no other.
Awakening on this fine day to see that the weather was rather pleasant, Enzo's first thought was to go out for an early morning practice. He quite enjoyed his morning practices, for perhaps it gave him the will to lounge around all day with people who did nothing but vex or bore him. Plus he needed to practice and keep improving for when the time came to visit the English magic school again. He obviously wanted to partake in beating them during the summer games, so hence the fact that he was training even more routinely.
However, today was slightly different than the rest. Enzo had woken up with the desire for a challenge. He wanted more than just to refine and maintain his skills. He wanted to race against someone, someone good. And who better to fill that position than dear Florian. Though Florian had recently been lost to the untasteful sport of quidditch, Enzo was sure he would still give him a run for his money. Enzo had met the lad last year when he had still been on the racing team and had found the boy surprisingly bearable, some might even say pleasant enough to be around, which was certainly quite the novelty, and as such he was the first person Enzo thought to ask.
So, Enzo had gone off to find Florian and see if he was up for a little race across the grounds. Upon his offer being accepted, and once they had both gathered their things, Enzo would then lead Florian out towards where he thought would be a reasonable starting spot in an open field.
"Alors *so, I was thinking we shall start here, then fly through the forest that leads to the cave, then into the cave and out through the waterfall over there, then back here to end, sound good?" He would ask before beginning to mount his broom.
If there were no objections, he would kick off into the air almost immediately after, turning back for a short moment to look at his friend or rather now opponent before giving him a small competitive smirk.
"Ready? Or have those quidditch halfwits already gotten to you?"
Permission was given for any godmodding of Florian & and credit to Starlee for coming up with the track :)

There was no doubt that young Florian had a love for Broom racing. He had been raised upon the sport, not only on brooms, but by growing up on his parents esteemed horse racing estate, something that many French pureblood and wealthy wizarding families opted to join into despite its Muggle origins. Joining the Beauxbaton racing team was something that had been expected of Florian, by both his friends and family. What wasn't expected, however, was his eventual switch to Quidditch.
There was no doubt that Florian was a good racer, he felt he had a hand in the success of the race during the prior summer camp, and he was quite proud of that. But shortly after that summer, he had been vigorously recruited by various fellow Beauxbaton students to help fill the clearly vacant spot they had on their team, that of Seeker. At first, Florian had been hesitant. How could he leave his beloved broom racing for... for... Quidditch? He looked down upon it as the inferior sport, especially since there wasn't a single spell being cast. It was much easier to just fly around tossing and catching balls than it was to fly around extremely fast while shooting spells at your opponents. Not just that, but it left a spot for comparison to his oldest brother, who, despite already graduating, had left his mark on the Beauxbaton Quidditch team as well. Of course, Florian knew he was the favorite child no matter what, but his competitive nature meant that he had to be better than his brother. In the end, Florian accepted the position, and promised himself he would put all his efforts into becoming the best seeker he could.
It was a lovely day outside, and Florian had been planning on doing some practice out on the grounds. There was surely nothing better than being out in the sun on a broom, that was certain. He had been on his way to collect his broom when he ran into Enzo. He had met the boy the year prior while on the racing team, and while at first he had been quite cold, Florian had managed to break through the boy's hard exterior and found a friend. It seemed Enzo was on the same page as Florian, asking if he would like a little friendly race. Florian hastily accepted, eager to finally get back to his roots.
The two retrieved their brooms and other racing items, and Enzo lead Florian out to a spot in an open field where he proceeded to tell Florian his course idea. As Florian knew these grounds practically by heart due to his racing practice the year prior, Florian nodded, responding "Oui Yes, that sounds perfect."
Enzo was quick to kick off into the air, practically just moments after Florian had spoken, and he looked back to smirk at him as Florian quickly joined him in the air.
"Ready? Or have those quidditch halfwits already gotten to you?"
Florian easily smirked back at the boy, knowing this was just the playful banter he expected from Enzo. "Heh... my dear Enzo, I was born ready." He turned his face to the gathering of trees ahead of them, and began to count down. "Three.. Two... One!" As he shouted one, he shot forward, hoping get a bit of a head start against Enzo. Florian certainly wasn't one who wouldn't cheat, in fact, the opposite, he would take any chance he could.
