Elesarh stared at the gleaming scarlet train that billowed steam before her. The crowd of chattering people swarmed and swelled around her, blurred faces flashing by, excited voices, the hoots of owls, the thunks of trunks. Gingerly, Elesarh pushed her way forwards, keeping her head down as she weaved her way through the students and parents alike. Further down the train she got, until she was right at the end, where the crowd thinned out a bit. She squeezed through a group of students, pulling her trunk behind her as she climbed onto the train.
"Ouch!" she exclaimed, as a student ran past, accidentally pushing her. "Idiot." she muttered under her breath.

Tugging her trunk behind her, she made her way up the train, peering into the compartments, most already full with groups of friends, all greeting each other after a summer apart. After finally finding an empty one, she squeezed into it, trapping her hand in the compartment door momentarily. "Damn." she said, sucking her finger.

Elesarh didn't bother heaving her trunk onto the luggage rack, knowing she wasn't strong enough, instead she leant it against the seat opposite as she collapsed into a chair, sprawling out and propping her feet onto her trunk.

A piercing whistle sound, and a few minutes later the train gave a great lurch, as it slowly began chugging it's way out of Platform 9 3/4.

Evangeline stepped onto the train car, picking up the briefcase by her side and opening the door of the car. The train began to move, chugging along the rails, slowly gaining speed, as she closed the door. From inside the train car, she could hear ‘goodbye’s and ‘good luck’s, cheers and sobs, and so much more coming from outside, on the station. But, these sounds eventually trailed off as the train left them behind, leaving only the sound of the train and the passengers inside, chatting and laughing with each other.

The one goal she currently had in mind was to find a carriage to rest in for the duration of the ride, hopefully one that was either empty or, at the very least, not as loud as some of the ones she was passing by. Evangeline carried her briefcase in both hands, weaving between groups of Hogwarts students that were still in the hallway of the train car. But, over time, the bag became heavier, which led Evangeline to simply drag it beside her. She was rather quiet for the duration of her quest to find a carriage, more thinking than anything else. Of course, when she did accidentally hit people with her briefcase, she apologised profusely but, other than that, she just thought.

To Evangeline's surprise, there were no carriages that fitted her criteria up to that point. Sure, some of them did have spaces, but they had friends who were catching up with each other, and she would have felt bad to have interrupted any conversation. And so, she continued on, looking through the window into each carriage. As she walked, less and less people crowded the hallways, forcing her to go further and further as carriages became filled with more friends. Eventually, however, she did find one carriage.

Evangeline pulled the sliding door open, heaving her briefcase behind her, before letting go and turning to person sitting, or rather reclining, on one of the seats. She paused for a moment, just looking at them, before opening her mouth to ask her question.
“Hello... do you mind if I sit here for the rest of the ride? All the other carriages seem to be taken.”
Evangeline bit at the side of her cheek, hoping that this person wouldn't reject her and order her out of their carriage. Hopefully she would be allowed to sit down, maybe even have a friendly, and yet not too long conversation! But, that was just a maybe.
