Continuation of this thread.
He kept her hand clasped in his until they reached the abandoned toilets, which were also on the second floor. Felix kicked the door open, pulling her in before dropping her hand and rushing over to the sink, discarding his bag in a haste and turning tap after tap until he found one that worked. He splashed a good amount of cold water onto his face before standing upright and catching his reflection in the cracked mirror. Water dripped from the outline of his brow to his cupid's bow and down to his chin. He’d accidentally dampened the front of his hair too. Felix turned, swiping at his forehead before hauling his bag onto his shoulder. Maybe he would tell the girl to just leave and skip going to the ball- since he hated parties anyway. He’d had enough parties for a lifetime, thanks to his father- who would take any chance to flaunt the products of his wealth. Felix had endured dinner party after dinner party from the moment he was born. So no surprise that he was sick of them. He ran a hand through his slightly damp hair, on the verge of addressing her before- wait what was her name?

“You-”

He pointed at her face, but did not have it in him to scowl or call her names. She looked so harmless, so delicately pretty. Had he chosen the wrong person to drag into this mess? Maybe he should just tell her to leave, with a face this handsome, he’d find someone else.

As Akemi stumbled into the bathroom, she had a hint of Deja Vu. This was the place she met one of her first friends, Gemima. Now she had just been dragged into the same lavatory by another person she had never met. Will she meet all of her friends in the abandoned toilets?

The boy rushed to one of the sinks and splashed the cold water onto his face. He was maybe just cooling off. Whatever the hell happened in the corridors pissed him off for sure. Akemi wanted to comfort him somehow, but she couldn't. Right now, she was confused. Why she was dragged into this mess, why Gemima was acting the way she was. Suddenly, a finger was then pointed at her face.

“You-”

He hesitated. He had probably attempted to call Akemi something, but something stopped him. Akemi crossed her arms over her chest. "My name's Akemi. Akemi Yamamoto." Another pang of Deja Vu. A small smile appeared on her face. "And if you want me to help, I would like to know yours."

The guy seemed like an asshole, but Akemi knew that there was a better side she hadn't seen yet.

Felix huffed, a small, amused smile escaping his lips as the girl introduced herself.

"Alright then." he mimicked her gesture, a smirk forming on his own pretty visage as he crossed his own arms over his chest and he studied her up and down. A hufflepuff, but he already knew that. Felix wrinkled his nose absentmindedly. He didn't like hufflepuffs. Then again, that was highly hypocritical, since he was one himself. Felix had never understood why he had been placed in hufflepuff of all houses, when he so clearly had traits that aligned with slytherin or ravenclaw. He'd had many other people voice the same thought, although he hadn't really understood their meaning at first. Being a muggle born, he had absolutely no idea what the four houses consisted of. So, when his first day arrived and he so very rudely (and characteristically) shut down a fellow first year that had attempted to talk to him, it came as a slight surprise to hear the words 'you’re the most unhufflepuff hufflepuff i've ever met.' From then on Felix had assumed that whatever a hufflepuff was like, then he must be the opposite. And that was very true, in many ways, or so he thought. Of course, since then, he had read up about the origin of the four houses, and had concluded that the hat was wrong as fuck because he most definetly wanted, no belonged in ravenclaw, or maybe slytherin.

The girl was maybe a head or two shorter than him, with dark eyes, rosy cheeks and shiny hair. He found that he had no intention whatsoever to hurl something at her, call her names, shove past her, kick her shins or do anything to potentially annoy her. In fact, it was very uncharacteristically ‘Felix’ of him to be standing here, his expression set in anything but a scowl, his posture playful and relaxed, without throwing about a curse or an insult. Felix realised that he had been staring at the girl and flickered his eyes from her face briefly, his cheeks flushing lightly, hardly noticeable but flushed all the same.

Felix cleared his throat. “Felix Jeong.” His arms were still folded, his gaze still fixated on her. He took a step closer, his bag still lying on the grimy bathroom floor behind him. “Akemi.” He liked the way that sounded on his tongue. Sweet. Pretty. Akemi. Felix uncrossed his arms and tucked them into the pockets of his school slacks, the frayed bracelets on his wrist poking out the hem of his school sweater. He was still pondering what nickname he could brand her with. It had become a habit to tag people he met with various suited nicknames, some better than others. For now ‘Akemi’ was fine though, he’d stick to that.

“So Akemi, what do you want?” Felix narrowed his eyes, leaning towards her, knowing damn well that he was the one who had dragged her here, not vice versa. Whether she played along, yelled at him, or did both, was yet to provide Felix with some intuition to who she was, what she was like.

"Felix..." She smirked at the name. It was a cute one, instantly reminding her of a cat. He sure seemed like one, with his playful and sly nature. That was one of Akemi's talents, finding a person's core interests and particular personality instantly, even if she was being dragged everywhere by that person. Her parents told her that's why she was put into Hufflepuff, because she was 'very observant, caring, and positive.' When she would think about this, it wouldn't sit right with her. Was she anything else other than that?

“So Akemi, what do you want?”

Akemi snapped back to reality. Now that he was right in front of her, face-to-face, she noticed things she didn't notice before in the corridors. His chocolate brown eyes, the way his black hair fell slowly onto his face, his pink supple lips...

Akemi realized that she had been staring at him and quickly looked down, faint red patches appearing on her cheeks. Damnit, she had to keep her cool. He could've been testing her, seeing what she was like and how she reacted. She quickly put back on a smirk and stood on her toes to match Felix's height. "Well... Nothing." She rocked back onto her heels before taking a step back. "You're the one that dragged me here."

She stepped forward and looked Felix in the eyes. "You're the one that said I'm your date to the ball. Was that just to piss off that Gryffindor guy?"

Deep down, Akemi also wished that he would take her to the ball. The idea of going seemed to grow on her the entire month of April, and having at least a friend to go with (even if the two had just met) would've been fun. Anyway, Felix seemed like a fun person to hang out with. This was an opportunity she couldn't miss, not now.

"You're the one that dragged me here."

Ooh so she could take a joke, she could play along. Felix liked her. “Did I now?” He paused to cock his head to the side in mock consideration. “You know what. I don’t really seem to remember that.”

“Was that just to piss off that Gryffindor guy?”

Admittedly, up until now, Felix had been two captivated by Akemi to spare Kim (or Gem) a single thought. Now that she mentioned him though...

"Whatever"
Felix groaned, crossing his arms over his chest as he looked away from Akemi, clear annoyance etched on his boyish features.

“This isn’t to do with him.” It was true. Felix didn't like Kim. Not at all. He just thought the boy was relatively attractive, but then there were many other people that he found relatively attractive. Right, the only reason why he had been chasing up Kim recently was because Kim himself had been avoiding Felix; and nobody avoids Felix. Other than that, Felix had no feelings towards the boy. Then there was the other question. Felix was straight, obviously. He had been straight his whole life, right? He’d always fancied girls, why would that just suddenly change? He supposed, that if anything, he would be bi; but no he wasn’t.

“I do want to take you to the ball.” He wasn’t lying. He absentmindedly registered that this was the first encounter he’d had where he had actually introduced himself. Not like when he first met Gem; he had practically thrown her bag across the corridor, or Kim, who he’d pinned against the wall and yelled at for a span of minutes. Even that girl he’d met on his first day; he’d snarled at her when she’d asked if she could help, and that other pretty girl in the library who he’d kicked out of her seat. Other people he’d met too, but those seemed to be the worst ones.

“Will you go to the ball with me Akemi?” Felix proposed the question, letting a smirk play against his lips as he raised a brow at her. He didn't even know what ball he was talking about, he hadn't heard about one until Gem cared to mention it. All he did know was that he did in fact want to go with Akemi, and this time, not to make anybody jealous.

He was ready to give her a list of reasons why she should go with him in case she had any doubts, which she shouldn’t have, because Felix was top tier. But from what Felix could tell, Akemi seemed to have a playful nature. It was likeable, but for some reason, he felt she wasn't going to give him a ‘yes’ that easily.

“I do want to take you to the ball.”

"Oh." Akemi felt her cheeks heat up. So he did. For a second, she thought it was just to make the mean Gryffindor guy pissed off. But the feeling she got when Felix admitted that... what did Kira call it? She had butterflies in her stomach. Was she actually applying her sister's advice now? Oh no.

“Will you go to the ball with me Akemi?”

The question echoed in her mind. She did want to go to the ball, she had just been considering going in the corridors. Still, she never thought someone would actually ask her... It was easier for her sister to get one, with her good looks and popularity. So when she bragged about her date to Akemi, she acted like it didn't bother her, but deep inside, she started to doubt. Maybe she wasn't as cool and smart as her sister...

She realized she had to give Felix an answer. Though spending a good hour debating if she should say no, maybe, or yes was temping, He would've been long gone by the time she finally chose an answer. So in a panic, Akemi said what first came to her mind.

"You have to give me a reason." She put up a finger up to his face, "AND it can't be your good looks. If that's your reason, expect a no from me." She smirked. The boy talked to other people like he owned the place. Akemi knew that would've been his first reason. Felix has to choose his reason carefully because Akemi wanted a good one. She hoped it would be a good one, because she wanted to go to the ball with him.

"You have to give me a reason." She put up a finger up to his face, "AND it can't be your good looks. If that's your reason, expect a no from me."

Felix couldn't help but grin at her words, watching her intently as her cheeks tinged with pink, his brown eyes boring into hers.

"So you do think im good looking." He leaned towards her, smirking, then leaned back and crossed his arms against his chest once more, wondering what on earth he was going to use to persuade her with, if it weren't for his looks. Without mentioning his good looks, the girl had eliminated more than half of his list already. In Felix's own eyes, he was charming and beautiful, and that should have been enough. This girl was now testing him just as he'd tested her. She was interesting. Maybe, instead of giving her a reason why she should want to go with him Felix should turn it around and give her reasons why he wanted to go with her. After all, Felix wasn't kind, caring, cute or any of that stuff, he wasn't going to lie and pretend he was the epitome of an angel, when he was in fact quite the opposite. He scrunched his brows, pretending to think.

"Well, you do seem quite charming, Akemi. Almost as charming as me, I'd say. It's rare that I meet people in this castle that I take a liking to-" This was true. "-but you seem to be one of the few, and since I am incredibly interesting and -” Wait, no. He paused. Felix enough about you. Tell her why you like her. But Felix didn't really have a reason, because despite knowing that she was really quite pretty, and had a witty, playful attitude, Felix knew next to nothing about her. He’d just taken a liking to her and couldn't explain why. Felix wanted to know who she was, she interested him. Which truthfully, was quite rare, since Felix seldom took an interest in people. He found people were generally quite predictable and boring, and he wasn’t to stick around for that sort of thing. Felix was generally the reserved type, nobody knew anything about him, and he in turn didn't bother to get to know anybody else. He liked it that way. So that was why it was unusual that he found himself wanting to go with her, despite never wanting the company of a human before, let alone to a ball. Maybe, just this once, he’d give someone a chance to get to know him, and in turn, get to know them.

“The truth is, I want to know more about you Akemi. So go to the ball with me, and it wont be a one-off encounter, I promise.” He flashed her a genuine smile. It was small, but genuine. Maybe Felix wasnt all smirks and cruel words. Maybe if she gave him a chance he could be nice. Maybe.

"You look alright." Akemi's cheeks flushed pink as she glanced at the floor, crossing her arms over her chest. Felix was attractive; Akemi found herself staring at him every time his lips formed a playful smirk, or when his hand stroked through his hair, but she didn't know him enough to actually call him handsome or good-looking. Though she never went boy-hunting like Kira, Akemi usually looked for boys that had funny, charismatic personalities. Like herself. She never understood the whole "opposites attract" propaganda, because that rarely worked for her. The only time it ever did was with a friend from home and Gemima.

"Well, you do seem quite charming, Akemi. Almost as charming as me, I'd say. It's rare that I meet people in this castle that I take a liking to..."

Almost as charming? Akemi rolled her eyes, still looking at the grimy bathroom floor. "Mhm. Go on." She still gave him some time to convince her. Felix could've still been figuring out what to say. So far, however, he wasn't doing too good. Fine, (Akemi liked when he called her charming), but not good.

“The truth is, I want to know more about you Akemi. So go to the ball with me, and it won't be a one-off encounter, I promise.”

She looked up at Felix and saw him smiling. An actual smile, or a small one, at least. Not the flashy smirks that usually danced on his lips. Maybe Akemi was right. The guy wasn't a total arse. She sighed. "I want to know more about you too, Felix. You seem really funny and cool, you're really fun to talk to-" She laughed dryly "Your reasons were sort of ok, too, so..." Akemi gave Felix a friendly smile. "Sure. I want to go with you."
