The Great Good Place
Mariposa Meadows, a girl that did everything under her mother's supervision, is without her mother. Mariposa, the girl who never left her house without her mother is far, far away from her home. Up till now her mother had done everything for her, picked out her clothes, did her hair, and planned out her day, now she was supposed to do that by herself, on her own. she didn't know how to feel. how can she live without her mother? how can she do anything without her?
Although Mari sat in the compartment by herself she was well aware that outside, were tones of kids her age and older. How could she talk to them? Could she talk to them? Would her mother let her talk to them? Being around kids her age was a rarity when Mari was with her mother, social interaction like many things in her life was controlled by her mother, and most of the time the people she would meet would be her mother's friends. Mariposa would sit at the piano and play, until she was so tired, that she messed up and then was sent to her room.
Her mother, Laraine Meadows, Mari couldn't say that she would miss her mother or that she won't. Miss her mother wasn't the problem it was being without her that was the problem. Mari always had someone telling her what to do, now she was supposed to tell herself what to do, and that scared her. Mari closed her eyes and sunk deep into the cushion set. She'll figure out something, she'll have to.
Mari sighed and listened to the sounds of the train and the muffled chatter outside of the compartment, she felt a strange buzz of excitement in her chest. She should write to her mother, and ask for a book on social interactions, and construction paper, and hopefully her mother would comply. Mariposa was the kind of kid that didn't ask for many things, on birthdays or gift-related holidays she would as for two things at most, and she would ask for the same thing each time.
Mariposa opened her eyes and stared at the white stuffed rabbit in front of her, it was in a dingy gray dress and a bright red ribbon tied its ears together. " What are you looking at?" Mari asked the bunny rather irritably. Bunnymund, that's what she named the toy. the toy she had when she was six, it was the same toy she took out all of her unladylike aggression on. instead of answering Bunnymund slumped over, it laid there in a heap. Mariposa sighed took off her glasses, closed her eyes, and sunk deeper into the set, it was going to be a long while until she was at Hogwarts.
