Lunchtime Stroll
When: March 27, 2022 during the lunch hour
As the frigid frost of winter loosened its grip and gave way to the warming embrace of spring, Evelynn could finally begin returning to her usual routines. Until recently, the spot along the lakeshore that she typically frequented during the lunch hours had been just a touch too cold for her liking. Much to her delight, that was finally beginning to change.
Garbed in her school robes, polished prefect and Quidditch captain pins fixed upon her lapels, Evelynn made her way towards the familiar nook beneath the budding canopy of one of the great deciduous guardians. It had been a little while since she had been able to enjoy the fresh air and commit to some personal reading, and she intended to make up for lost time.
She never would quite make it to her destination, however. She passed a number of students on her way, some familiar—to whom she would offer a genial bow of her head in greeting—and others less-so. It was one of these latter categorized students that caught her attention, however. Younger than her by far, his pale hair stood out against the darker backdrop of the grounds. Even from a distance, she could make out the blue of his eyes, their stare icy in a way, as though haunted by some sort of inner turmoil. In a rare moment of curiosity, she decided to investigate.
"Good afternoon," she chimed gently, soles of her boots padding dully on the packed ground as she neared the boy. "Are you one of the first year students?"

Lunchtime Stroll
Micheal always knew that ten feet in any direction of the lake was unnaturally cold, but as spring approched their reality, he decided to test the concept once again.
With some food he gathered from the feast, two jackets (just in case) and himself, he set for the lake. The lake was a decent two minute walk from the castle; it wasn't nearly as far as Micheal thought it would be.
While Micheal was walking, he say many other kids from many other years playing with each other in a game of tag, hide-and-seek, or snowball battles with the remaining snow on the ground. One of the boys even managed a small snow wall to block incoming snowballs with.
All of the activity going on around Micheal made him forget completely forget about the cold and, less fortunately, his destination. He started to wander around looking at what all the boys and girl were doing in their free time. The amount of people here made it, as far as Micheal knew, look like there wasn't enough space at the table space in the great hall for everyone to be sitting all at once.
After a minute of wandering around, he remembered where he was trying to go and what he was trying to do: each lunch in peace (and maybe with a byproduct of silence).
When he got to the lake, he found out that the space around it wasn't as nearly as cold as it used to be in the winter; it was actually quiet soothing.
As he sat down, he opened his bag full of food, his plate, and other utensils. The first thing that he managed to grab out of the bag was a medium-sized peice of medium-rare cooked steak. He grabbed a fork and knife and started to eat.
A few minuted into his meal, someone, most likely a girl, spoke to him. When he looked up from his steak, he saw a girl that was at least in her third year at the school.
"Hello!" He responded "Yes I am. Are you a third year?" He said attempting at a positive voice; he wanted to make at least a decent first impression on the girl.

Lunchtime Stroll
Eyes the colour of a cloudless winter morning peered up to Evelynn as she spoke. In his lap lay a..steak? With knife and fork clutched voraciously in his hands, it only then occurred to her that she had evidently interrupted his meal. "Oh, my apologies," she uttered quickly, somewhat taken aback by the choice of his meal. Most who took their food beyond the walls of the Great Hall generally opted for something a little easier to manage—finger foods or a sandwich or the like. "I di—"
She was going to continue her apology, but it seemed it wasn't necessarily needed. No animosity lingered in the boys upturned gaze; no outward resentment for the interruption. Shoulders relaxing into her upright posture, Evelynn's hands drifted to clasp one over the other against her thighs. Chin lofted, lips upturning slightly into the hint of a demure smile, she was every bit the picture of a docile and proper little witch. Still, at his question, she couldn't help but quirk a brow.
"How astute of you," she smirked. For half a second, she had been rather impressed that he had so easily pegged her specifically as a third year. Then again, perhaps she ought not to be so surprised. It wasn't uncommon for new students to marvel at the various sports' teams, and as others so often liked to point out, her own reputation was beginning to precede her. Perhaps she was more recognizable than she thought. "Yes," came the calm affirmation. "I am indeed a third year. Decipio," she offered by means of her usual introduction. "Evelynn Decipio."
A hand flared out towards the ground next to him, "Care for some company?"[/color]
