Someone to Love Me Pet

Seren shyly walked into the Menagerie, followed by the lawyer who had been selected to escort her on this particular shopping trip. She had originally planned to stay at Hogwarts for the Holidays, but when she realized she had enough saved pocket money to go and get a pet of her own, she had arranged to come home after all. She knew she was going to be alone, other than House Elves, because her parents had gone off on a trip to South Korea to visit her grandparents for the holidays, and of course they took her brother.

This meant it would be a lonely Christmas, but honestly no more lonely than if she stayed at Hogwarts, with how much trouble she was having at coming out of her shell.

Still, in the end, what mattered was she had the time to go, buy herself a pet, and not worry about her parents trying to stop her from, in their horrid opinions, 'waste the money she did not deserve to have' on a pet. As such, she had made arrangements and here she was, ready to pick out a beautiful new animal to take home with her. She was not sure, yet, what she was going to get though.

An interesting lizard? Probably not, she wanted something more affectionate than most lizards. A spider was right out. Toads were cool but again, she wanted affectionate. A rat was possible, but she worried about one around the cats of the school. Pygmy puffs and bunnies were also in that zone.

As she looked around, she headed into the section with the Owls first, as she was pretty sure an Owl or a was more for her. She began to wander amongst the selection, looking at a number of lovely options. They were wonderful, and some seemed quite lovely in personality, coming close to her and hooting for attention. That said, none of them seemed to call to her.

She sighed a little, and headed over to the cats, trying not to notice the disappointed beak clicks a few of the owls sent her way. She walked past baskets of kittens, and peered into crates that had adult cats. She was beginning to feel like she was not going to find anyone who fit her, when she heard an imperious sound "MROW." from directly behind her.

She turned around and found a 3 month old Silver Siberian kitten staring at her, with an demanding expression on her face. Seren moved closer and the kitten... Jumped at Seren, leaving the girl scrabbling quickly to catch the pretty baby. She was a bit surprised at the weight, but Seren soon figured out how best to hold the kitten, who was purring voluminously, and rubbing Seren's cheeks with her own.

Within moments, Seren's heart had melted, and she whispered "It's you, isn't it? Well then..." and she carried her newly selected cat to the counter. After some careful negotiation, the payment was made and Seren headed to the door with her new pet, and supplies. As they walked out the door, she said "You are Electra... And you have shown me, already, that you will be someone to love me, and I... I will love you."
