Skipping Stones
@Sena Sevim | March 24th
When Opeila woke up this morning, she had felt an odd sense of euphoria rush through her, sending her out of bed in her best mood. During her morning jog with Flash she had been chatty, quite possibly to the point where it annoyed her best friend, but nothing managed to darken her mood. She had even enjoyed the classes more than usual, resulting in exceptionally good performance- although her performance was already quite fine.
Her grades in transfiguration had slipped back to an average E, which annoyed her, on flying she had given up. Opeila just didn't feel comfortable on a broom, so an imperfect grade seemed only fair.
After class, the third year changed into a pair of jeans, a dark green sweater and a thin coat. And she also opened her hair that had been braided all day, so it fell down her back in soft brown waves, then she went outside.
As usual, she was accompanied by her young tabby cat, Loras. Well- not that young anymore actually. Opeila could still remember the day she got him from the Menagerie, when he had almost been a kitten still, and now he was three years old already. And the two had actually grown together as companions, which Opeila appreciated immensely. A companion was the most valuable thing she had these days, even if that companion was only an animal.
Humming to herself and enjoying the feeling of cold air filling her lungs, Opeila walked down to the lake, her face turned to the sky, to the sun that kept shining through the clouds for a few seconds every now and then. Wonderful.
Reaching the lake, she simply stood there for a moment. The Slytherin hadn't really made a plan or anything for what she wanted to do here, she just felt like this was the place where she wanted to be right now. Wasn't it ironic that she had avoided the lake for almost half a year in her second year?
Her life had been a mess then and standing at the lake had only reminded her of it.
What had changed? Opeila pondered, but she really couldn't think of anything. Standing here still reminded her of the countless times she had sat here in despair, looking for a way out that didn't exist. No, nothing had changed but herself. Opeila was a different person than she had been in her first year, a stronger and more confident one she liked to believe.
The third year bent down and picked up a flat stone. She threw it into the lake, watched it hit the surface several times before it disappeared in the dark water.

Sena woke up suddenly. Normally this wouldn't happen. She slowly looked out the window. The weather looked pretty good. She just wanted to finish the day and go out into the garden. She put on her robes and left the dormitory.
'What is this speed girl, I haven't woken up yet'
She got into classes quickly. She didn't understand anything, but that was another matter. She just couldn't wait for classes to end.
As soon as the lessons were over, Sena threw herself out in such a way that it was as if she had gone out for the first time in her life.
'Have you ever wondered how you look from the outside, Sena?'
'Do you think it looks like I care, inner voice'
She saw him making a high bun with the clasp on his arm, putting his wand through his hair and walking towards the black lake. It was quite cold when he got there.
She saw a flower side in front of the lake. This was weird because he wasn't here before. When she got there, he made a flower crown and bracelet, as he always did. Anyone who saw him might have thought he was crazy, but all the best people were crazy.
Meanwhile, she saw a ripple in the lake. Sena couldn't help but go there. And she saw that there was a girl there, he approached her and spoke.
"Hello"

Je peux être fou, ne sont-ils pas tous les meilleurs ?
