This is...Not so Good
James was studying for homework in the study room. He had missed a few classes and was now playing catch up. He had quite a lot of it to do and wanted to get it done as quickly and as accurately as he could. He started on his Charms homework first quickly scribbling down the answers sloppily but neat enough to where you could make out the words.
Next was Potions. Then Defense Against the Dark Arts. Once he finished he put the scrolls away planning to turn them in the next day. He was finished with old homework. Now time for the new homework. From Herbology and Flying. Simple enough. James decided to take a short break. He pulled out his notebook and began to draw small doodles flipping the pages whenever one was completely filled. He decided to draw a picture of the classroom. There were a few other students in here also studying for homework or O.W.L.S.
James began to draw the students sitting at the desks eventually getting absorbed and almost forgot what he was here for. James came back to reality after the drawing was finished realizing he still had homework to do. He tossed his notebook to the desk next to his and started on the homework.
He finished the assignments and put the scrolls away in his satchel and packed his things to leave. He grabbed his satchel placing it over his shoulders and walked out not noticing he had left his notebook on the desk. He made his way to his common room and went to pull a book out of his satchel. He saw his notebook wasn't there. Damnit James he swore to himself and started to make his way back down to the study room.

It wasn't long after James had left the study room that Jack chanced upon the notebook that had been left behind and forgotten about. The third year had been reading on his own in a corner of the room, trying to keep out of sight of anyone who might have known or recognized him, when he had noticed an unfamiliar student doodling in a notebook. That very same notebook had soon been tossed aside in favor of other parchment and Jack didn't think much of it. At least, not until its owner had gotten up and gone without it.
Curious, the redhead had been unable to resist getting up to examine the abandoned notebook. He was intrigued by what lay within, flipping through page after page of not only drawings and sketches, but stories as well. He began to read a few of them and quickly got so engrossed that he barely thought to look up when someone walked back into the room. He might not have given them a second glance had he not recognized them as the student who had been sketching a short while before. They must have remembered and come back for their notebook.
Jack grinned suddenly, holding up the notebook for the other boy to see. "Hello," he greeted a little too sweetly. "Looking for this?"

James walked briskly down the hall trying to get back to the room as quickly as possible. He slowed his pace as he neared the doorway taking a sharp turn into the classroom only to stop in his tracks. There was a red haired boy standing there holding his notebook. Flipping through it and reading his stories. James was furious. This boy had no right looking through his things. What if James had written something private in there?
James cleared his throat as the boy looked up and grinned, greeting James friendly but James could hear it in his voice. This boy was not friendly at all. He asked James if he was looking for his notebook. James nodded. "As a matter of fact I am. That is my notebook. Why do you have it?" James tried to make his voice sound strong but failed horribly. Although managing to not stutter James still sounded weak. And this boy obviously had to be stronger and older than James.
James swallowed hard. He still stood in the doorway not daring to move closer to the red head. James didn't know what the boy could possibly do to him but he didn't want to risk the chance of getting hurt. He already got hurt on a daily basis. He didn't need any more injuries. James looked to the boy once again still waiting upon his response.

"I have it because you left it here," Jack answered the other boy cheekily, waving the notebook a little. "And you know what they say. 'Finders keepers, losers weepers'. Nice stories you got in here, by the way. Did you write them all yourself?"
The boy looked terrified. Jack realized he was older, but he didn't realize he could make anyone so afraid of him before. It was strange; usually he was the one being bullied, not the other way around. It was refreshing for a change. What to do with all this new-found power?
Taking out his wand, Jack said, "I'm going to teach you a very important lesson. One you hopefully won't soon forget." He set the notebook down on the desk, facing upward and open to one of the stories written in it. Then he gestured to it with his wand and said, "Illegibilus."
The words on the page didn't appear to change. In fact, nothing seemed to happen at first. However, if someone tried to read the words on the page, it would appear unreadable, as if one's brain couldn't make sense of the letters. "That's how you keep your writing private if you don't want anyone reading it," Jack explained.
With a wicked smile, he closed the book and held it out to its original owner for him to take. But then he said, "Oh, wait. Now even you can't read it, can you? Not unless you know the counter-spell, that is."
