Fiona Collins - First year - Slytherin
• Appearance • Fiona is a tall slender girl just over 5 ft. Her pale skin tends to tan nicely rather than burn. She has long curly brown hair, with the weight of the length it appears more wavy, though when cut short it will spring up to tighter curls. Fiona wears glasses to correct her nearsighted vision. While Fiona prefers to dress comfy, will wear pajamas whenever possible, She does have a strong appreciation for fashion, and loves all styles, eras and cultures of clothing and jewelry.
• Personality • Fiona is a very quiet girl, though not necessarily shy. She tends to people watch, staying on the outskirts of conversations, but enjoying watching and listening to the interactions of others. She does have a longing for friendship, and to be liked by everyone, but as soon as she's invited to participate she immediately remembers why she prefers solitude . . . people annoy her. As soon as people have their attention on her, she hates the feeling of obligation to entertain. That's not to say she isn't a great friend, once she becomes friends with someone. In fact, she will always go above and beyond for those she grows close to.
Fiona is a rather carefree spirit, not troubled by much. While she is annoyed easily, she is slow to anger. She would much rather ignore and forget, but when needed she has no fear of confrontation. Fiona naturally appears happy and warm, and tries her best not to be rude. She has a great many interests, and is fiercely protective and loyal to friends and family.
• History • Born in late September to wizarding parents Emmett and Isla Collins, Fiona grew up in the beautiful countryside of Scotland. They lived in a wonderful cottage surrounded by rolling hills and a small forest near a sparkling lake and river. Fiona's uncle and his family lived just over the next hill, so she spent most her days running around and exploring with her much older cousins. The nearest town was about a 30 minute broom ride away. Despite not having any kids her own age around to play with, she was happy on her own or with her cousins. At the age of 5, a new member of the family arrived, her adorable baby brother Callum. She took to him immediately, loving every moment of being a big sister. Fiona couldn't wait until he was old enough to follow her around outside. She had so much to show and teach him.
Unfortunately before that time came, her Parents broke the news to her, at the age of 8, that they would be moving. She was completely heartbroken, no more adventures through the forest, or exploring the river and lake, she wouldn't be able to teach Callum how to climb her favorite trees. Fiona begged and pleaded with her parents not to move. But the simple fact was, that it was difficult for them to commute for work. Emmett and Isla both worked with Marine Magical Wildlife, and they had recently taken on a project where they needed to be closer to the ocean. Her parents promised her that they wouldn't be selling the cottage, and that Uncle Ethan would be looking after it, so they could go back on holidays. Fiona was still bitter about leaving.
Her resentment grew even larger the next year, once they were in their new home . . . in the crowded muggle tourist town of St Ives, England. She hated the noise, the traffic, the smell of salt and fish everyday. The only enjoyable thing was seeing all the interesting fashions of the muggles. Sometimes she would wander down to the beach cafe, despite her fear of the ocean, and listen in to the various conversations of the tourists. The world fascinated Fiona, and she longed to travel and explore.
