Sorry...Have we met before? PV Kim Sato Finished

Kim couldn't help but think about the dream he'd had last night about his best friend back in England. It had been awhile. He was the type of person who didn't have 'friends' due to various reasons. But Charles had been different, the two had clicked almost immediately upon their first meeting between them. And they even lived next door to eachother! It truly had been a surprise for both of them when they'd found out.

The two had become friends rather quickly, which was surprising considering Kim's initial reluctance to make friends, and started to hang out together all the time. They ended up sharing everything and anything with eachother, knowing the other one would keep any and all secrets between them. For once, Kim actually had a best friend, despite his seemingly cold and intimidating exterior. It was nice, almost like a dream.

It seemed as if they were inseparable, until one day Charles suddenly disappeared for a long period of time. He hadn't given him any warning beforehand, which was quite unlike him. Worried, that something might have happened, Kim tried to contact him and eventually Charles had responded, letting him know he had been visiting his 'fiance' in Chester. When they met up, Kim had smacked him on the back of his head.

Then he'd complained about Charles not telling him earlier about his fiance. This in turn led to them talking a bit about the girl before delving into another subject, as they had finally reunited again. The girl's name was now Eun-ji and he'd shown him a picture of his important person. Eventually, they parted ways when school called them away, Kim to Hogwarts and Charles to Ilvermonry, but swore to always keep in touch.

This hadn't been the first time he'd dreamed about Charles and wouldn't be the last.

But it had been the first time since coming to Hogwarts. Kim sighed, thinking it would have been even more fun if Charles could have come here with him. He shook his head and decided to go outside for a breath of fresh air and some exercise. Since coming to Hogwarts he'd been consumed with homework and checking out the castle, that continuously kept changing on him. Not to mention the extracurricular activities there.

One of these days, Kim was going to check out the dueling club because that was something he was actually quite interested in. He'd tried to sneak up at night and watch students secretly practice back on the 19th but that had ended in failure and a bit of trauma. However, he'd reunited with a childhood friend because of this. So he supposed it wasn't too bad, maybe he'd needed to fail in order to meet Regina again.

As for Quidditch and Broom Racing, he wanted to stay away from those as much as possible. He didn't even want to be in the same room as them. The last thing he needed was for someone to try and put a broom in his hands. He'd had enough traumatic experiences this month to last a lifetime. Kim closed his eyes and tried to breathe, calming himself down. That reminded him, it was the end of the month now.

It was time for a color change.

But what color should he make it for the month of October?

Orange? For pumpkins and Halloween? No. He didn't want to look too festive for the entire month. Or maybe he could pass it off as going with the season.

You know, like fall colors. Kim was lost in thought as he rounded the corner, following the corridor that would eventually lead him outside. A few people passed by but other than that, it was relatively quiet which was rather nice. He disliked large groups of people, even though he was familiar with, mostly because it gave him anxiety if he was too close to them. It was something the boy tended to try and hide from other people.

After all, it could be looked upon as a weakness. And actually it was.

It wasn't as if Kim could control his feelings. Eun-ji came into vision range as she walked steadily forward and just as she passed by, Kim blinked.

Wait, was that Charlie's girl? From the picture he'd shown him, it looked just like her and she did go to Hogwarts. If he remembered correctly, he'd told him she was a Ravenclaw. The girl looked somewhat mature and although she wasn't laughing and didn't have a smile on her face, she did resemble the picture. Her posture was also good, like Kim's, which spoke of her upbringing. "Eun-ji ya!" He called out to the girl.

He knew he had to say something to stop her from leaving right now. And then, Kim suddenly sneezed and then sneezed again. Before his eyes started to water, he wildly glanced around him. Ah, shit. A cat. A CAT WAS THERE! It was near Eun-ji, which led him to believe it was most likely hers. Well, that was an unfortunate coincidence. Kim really hoped this cat wouldn't be like all the other cats he'd met before. It wouldn't.

Right?

Please don't like me. Kim thought to himself as he continued to sneeze.

Eun-ji was nearing the end of the corridor when a sound of her own name brought her back to reality. It was not just any simple call either. The Korean suffix the person used was precisely what made her stop in her tracks immediately. What the?! The only Korean friend she had at Hogwarts was Aaron and this was definitely not Aaron’s voice. The girl turned swiftly to look at the person in question. Not only did she not know the boy that stood in front of her, he was also obviously younger than her. First year perhaps? She couldn’t say for sure. The height was throwing her off a bit. 이봐, 내가 네 친구야?/ Iba, naega ne chinguya?! 왜 저한테 반말하세요?/ Wae jeohante banmalhaseyo? Hey, am I your friend?! Why are you talking informally to me? The witch asked sternly. She couldn’t be sure if he was Korean either but his choice of words made her believe he was. Unfortunately, before the stranger even got to react, he started viciously sneezing. This resulted in even more confusion on Eun-ji’s side.

Speaking of Eun-ji’s side…the girl noticed Mordred looking awfully intrigued despite the boy’s bizarre behaviour. He tilted his head and made two slow steps towards the boy as if to inspect him further. “Mordred, no.” The Ravenclaw reprimanded her cat immediately. She was bewildered by his sudden interest but they had rules. No human approaching before the human in question expressed their interest as well. She had friends that didn’t like animals so she never assumed everybody would be thrilled to hang out with her furry companion. Wait…fur… “Are you…allergic to cats by any chance?” Surely not. If he was, wouldn’t he have a potion on him that helps with the side effects? There were cats everywhere around the castle. Why would anyone with cat allergy walk around without any precautions? But why was he sneezing then?

Clicking her tongue, Eun-ji called Mordred back to her just to be sure. He didn’t look too happy but sat beside her leg obediently, still watching the Gryffindor but no longer daring to do anything about it. He would stick to his owner’s side until she let him go get acquainted. Oh Lee Eun-ji...What did you get yourself into this time?

Her question was obviously not going to be answered anytime soon. The boy simply couldn’t stop sneezing and he made no attempt to help himself in anyway. This at least told her, he indeed didn’t have any medicine on him. “믿을 수 없어.../ Mid-eul su eobs-eo…” Unbelievable. The witch shook her head disapprovingly. As a daughter of a surgeon and a healer, she found it highly irresponsible to walk around without any solution to his medical condition. Mercifully, the fit of sneezing seemed to calm down once she called Mordred back to her side. So I guess the answer to my question is yes then.

For a moment, Eun-ji considered leaving. Being around cats obviously didn’t do the boy any favours and she was not interested in making new friends anyway. Still, he knew her name. How did he know her name and why was he acting so friendly? In, the end the curiosity got the best of her and she decided to stick around. “Apologies. Do you have a handkerchief, piece of cloth or tissue I could use?” The Ravenclaw sighed as she rummaged through her bag. At least he was able to talk now. “Stay.” She instructed her cat before approaching the boy and offering her lavender scented wipes. Let’s hope he doesn’t have other allergies as well.

Thankfully, upon closer inspection, she could smell hints of lavender and vanilla on the stranger, which meant this should not cause any further harm to him. Eun-ji wasn’t a big fan of vanilla smell or taste wise but lavender was her favourite and one could tell since she also smelled like one. “Here.” She said curtly, opting to use English this time. After all, he was speaking in English too so perhaps he wasn’t as well versed in Korean as she assumed he would be.

Alright, so now she knew his favourite scents but still no name. Eun-ji frowned a bit but then the boy finally gave her at least some hint. “Charlie’s girl?” She repeated a bit confused at first. Wait…That’s right! Charles said his best friend was his neighbour and much younger than him. She didn’t have many details but it made sense that he would be attending Hogwarts. She just didn’t think about the possibility of meeting him until now. Suddenly, he witch felt a bit guilty. She had just realized how little she asked her ‘fiancé’ about his life. They talked a lot and she knew all his struggles just as he knew most of hers but they hardly ever talked about the good things. Perhaps it was time to change that. They didn't have to be miserable all the time.

“You must be Kim then, correct?” Eun-ji asked to double check. She doubted Charles would talk about her with anyone besides his best friend. He knew she wouldn’t appreciate that and so far he kept all his promises to her. Still, it felt strange to be called his girl. They had an agreement where they pretended to go along with the arranged marriage in front of the Hunts but in reality, they didn’t really agree to it. At least that’s what they decided during their first meeting. The Ravenclaw wondered what kind of things Charles said about her. They had each other’s back and spent a lot of time together. She was also very nice to him as he was to her but they didn’t have any common friends besides her pets so she had no way of knowing how he described her to other people. Considering how she was around him however, most people probably wouldn’t recognize her. In her first year perhaps but that was a long time ago. He must have seen my picture for sure…

In all honesty, Eun-ji didn’t quite know how to feel about this meeting. She was somewhat curious yet scared at the same time. This could really go either way. Either they’d become friend eventually thanks to the special connection they had OR everything would go incredibly wrong. The raven-haired girl knew Charles most likely didn’t give Kim too many details about her situation at home but if Kim hang out around her often, he could very well find out himself, which she didn't want to happen. It was enough for Charles to be involved in the mess and she knew for a fact that Ye-jun would find out too since he was supposed to visit her this summer. Two people witnessing her misery were more than enough, thank you very much.

Her reaction seemed to throw the boy off for a moment. He even apologized for making a mistake before she put two and two together. So she finally had his name then. Baby steps. Curiously, Kim looked quite excited once he confirmed her identity. Eun-ji wasn’t entirely sure why but she supposed it made him a good friend. Best friends were usually invested in each other lives, right? She didn't have one herself but she knew that much at least.

The boy’s next words made Eun-ji frown a bit. Charles told him all about her? And to think she was so sure he’d keep his promise. She was about to ask what exactly he meant by that when Kim stopped her and reassured her it was nothing confidential. Good. The witch allowed herself to relax a bit as she listened to the strange description of her. It sounded like an entirely different person to her…well except for the mature bit. That one made sense though she tended fail on that count occasionally as well. Mostly when she was arguing with her aunt. Charles didn’t fully witness any of those however and it was true that she let her guard down around him quite often. He was also always trying to make her smile so really…it was all his fault. He was pretty good at making her forget the mess she now called her family.

“I’m sure you know this, considering you are his best friend but Charles is very generous. He paints me a better person than I actually am. Don’t hold onto his words too much. You’ll be disappointed.” It was a fair warning. Kim seemed eager to get to know her better and while she tended to push people away this year, she couldn’t bring herself to do so with this one. He had a strong bond with the only person besides her father that made her life at home tiny bit less miserable. Still, it was not common for her to behave like she did around Charles on a daily basis and it was only fair to let Kim know. Her softer side, which used to be her distinctive feature up until last year, faded into background and only reappeared when she was around people she trusted. There weren’t many of those left at this point.

“Yes, I was…am taking Mordred for a walk.” The Ravenclaw finally answered Kim’s next question. She was still a bit cautious but also curious. He probably knew a lot when it came to her ‘fiancé’ so this might be an opportunity to learn a thing or two. She also didn’t want to appear too unpleasant as it could rouse unnecessary suspicions. Eun-ji didn’t want Kim poking into her business and if she behaved extremely different to how Charles presented her, the boy probably would start asking questions. “You can come…just try not to suffocate, okay? I doubt any of my healing spells could fix that.” The witch then clicked her tongue and waved her cat away. This meant he was free to go. Usually she would do so once they were outside the castle so he could chase the butterflies and falling leaves but since Kim couldn’t be anywhere near her furry friend, she decided to let him run ahead of them a bit sooner than usual. She was not worried. Mordred always made sure to stay where she could see him and if he went too far, she just needed to call him and he would come back to her.
