Meeting new friends.
Mia walked into the library, she had yet to receive her timetable from her head of house, so she thought she would read a bit while she waited.
She silently walked through the bookshelves, noting down a few potential books that she would like to read. The library was massive, she had was fascinated by all the books, the shelves were full of all sorts of books.
From potions, to creatures within the magical world, to magical objects. She laughed as she touched the back of a squirming book, she would rather not open it, who knows what's lurking within it. She takes a book covered in faded leather. It contained historical wizards hailing from Hogwarts. She quickly made her way to one of the tables. She softly placed the book down and opened it carefully. It was an old book and she did not want to harm it. It carried knowledge yet to be gained from generations to come.
A soft smile was curled onto her lips as she read about the previous generations, she took out a notepad and pencil that she had brought with her. She started to draw images as she read the book, a historical figure started to form as she continued to read. She looked down at her drawing smiling as she noted down the name of the wizard.
'Another one for the collection.' She said to herself as she closed the library book. She moved it to the side and pulled her drawing closer. She took out a black pouch that contained her charcoal pieces. She focused her attention on her drawing, filling in darker shading to hwr drawing adding more detail as she went along.
The library was quiet, the only thing Mia heard was her own scribbling. It was odd that the library was this quiet.

The library did seem quite quiet, almost unusually so as the many books in the vast collection and isles of shelves sat idol and quiet just waiting to be picked up and read by the next curious student... yet beyond the sound of Mia's scribbing there was very little other noise within the library.
Until, almost on cue, the distant sound of brisk footsteps gently echoed out throughout the library from the other end than where Mia sat.. though they began to grow louder with each step as it seemed like they were approaching! Should Mia have looked up from focusing on her drawing then she could likely see the culprit of shattering the all but silence.. a boy that seemed to weave in and out of the bookshelves, going down one isle before coming out the next one over.
He wore the standard first year uniform, black trousers, a white shirt and a jumper worn beneath the plain black robes that seemed to flourish and billow behind the boy as he marched up and down the rows of bookshelves and atop his head sat the plain black pointed hat that comes with the uniform, his fiery red hair could be seen beneath it contrasting against the dark coloured hat.
"Ble fyddai e... ble fydden nhw'n ei roi... (Where would it be... where would they put it...)" The boy uttered in his native language, perhaps unaware there was someone else present in the hushed library, as he spoke he finally came to a pause around the section of magical creatures, his eyes lighting up with delight as he finally found the section!

Mia's head jerked up as she heard a voice, not one she recognized. She tilted her head to the side as she listened closely to what was being said. A frown formed on her forehead.
(What language is this) She wondered to herself as she tapped softly with the charcoal on the picture which had kept her busy for a while. She shifted nervously on the oak chair as her eyes searched the bookshelves that she could see without moving.
'My imagination.' She whispered to herself as she heard nothing more, she looked down at her drawing admiring the darker shades as they contrasted against the spaces that she left open for emphasis. The parchment seemed to twist and curl with the textures that she had created.
'Perhaps another figure is needed, or maybe I should choose another victim.' She spoke cooly, a soft giggle erupting from her as she shook her head at her own silliness. She brushed a stray strand of blonde hair from her face, leaving a dark mark across her pale cheek. She continued with her drawing until she felt the picture could take no more punishment. She pushed it aside, took a napkin from her pocket, and cleaned her blackened fingers. Her clean hand reached for the book that she had read before and pulled it closer once more. Her attention flew to a name she had heard before a million times. That of the Slytherin founder. She softly read the scriptures about him
'Would it be fair to draw such an iconic figure' She said to herself as she softly tapped on the parchment she had sprawled over the table. She already knew what he looked like, there were plenty of paintings and drawings of him already. She bit her lower lip as she pondered whether she should attempt.

As briskly as he appeared, Dafydd marched down the row of shelves that held countless tomes on the topic of magical creatures and beasties, his gimlet eyes shooting back and forth towards the spines and titles of books as he moved down the isle in search of something specific. Although he had his copy of fantastic beasts and where to find them, he wanted to find out more knowledge about a specific kind of creature..
It was only after a good handful of minutes of searching high and low amongst the shelves did Dafydd discover a book on the topic of what he wanted, Dragons. A wide grin spread across his lips as he grasped the book on the shelf and gently slit it out of it's resting spot. Giving off a sigh of relief as his search was over. "Aha! There you are, just the one I was looking for." He'd exclaim with an excitement to his tone as if he had just found some treasure or had gotten the biggest welshcake on the plate.
Twirling back around on the heels of his shoes, Dafydd energetically speed walked back out of the maze of shelves in search of a table now, his long loose black cloak billowing behind him like the wind blew it as he strode. The tomb clutched under his left arm as he came to a stop to look over the many tables for reading, writing and... well upon seeing Mia sat alone at one, drawing!
"Al'right, how's it going?" He called out towards the blonde girl as he approached her table with his thick south walien accent, a bright and cheery smile spread across his lips as he came to a stop on the otherside of the table from her, giving a small gesture to the seat with his right hand. "You don't mind if I take a seat do you? I'd prefer to sit with another student than by my lonesome." He questioned with a hopeful look across his face..

Mia looks up at the sudden exclamation which came from a boy in black robes. A soft smile formed on her lips as she recognized him as a first-year student. His skin was as pale as hers, green eyes peering at her as he strode over to the table at which she was sitting. He had asked her how she was doing from a distance before he came to a standstill holding a book in his hands.
'Greetings' She responded feebly' (What a ridiculous way to greet another student) she thought to herself as she quickly rubbed her hands to distract her discomfort
' I am quite fine, thank you for asking. How are you doing on this fine evening?' She shook her head internally at herself for the silly way in which she was handling this person. He was like her, a student, and yet she had difficulty communicating without sounding absolutely idiotic.
He had asked her whether it was fine with her to take a seat with her. The library had been quiet, it was her first time in the library, and she had thought it would have been more lively. Tonight, however, it seemed like all the students had something better to do than search for unanswered questions.
' Please feel free.' She announced as she quickly moved some of her parchment closer to her so that it seemed like she had some order when it came to her belongings. A shy smile curved onto her lips ' My apologies for the mess.' She gestured to the book she had been using previously along with the parchment which seemed to be messier somehow after her movements. She frowned down at the parchment shaking her head as she attempted to order them again.

"Ah lovely, Diolch! (Thank you!)" He'd respond with a much more confident and merry tone than the feeble one spoken to him, however, he didn't even seem to acknowledge the 'odd' greeting in any other way but gratitude.
Upon hearing the girl speak once more and ask him a question... "I am quite fine, thank you for asking. How are you doing on this fine evening?" Dafydd perked an eyebrow for a few moments, thinking about his answer as his eyes wandered upwards to look at the roof just to stare as he thought. "It's lovely to hear you're all fine and well! I'm doing great this evening, finally getting to answer a question I've had for a long time... so well proper tidy!" The boy explained with a look of excitement spreading across his visage as he turned back to look at her. Although he disliked reading, especially reading English, he had found a topic that actually made him want to read.
"Please feel free." These were exactly the words Dafydd had hoped to hear as they were announced by the girl sitting in front of him, she went about hurriedly moving and shifting the various pieces of parchment she left somewhat scattered across the table. Meanwhile, Dafydd would move to set the book in his hands down onto the table in front of his chair before reaching up to the black pointed hat that sat atop his head, grabbing ahold of it by its large rim, he took it off and plopped it down onto the backrest of his chair before happily taking a seat himself.
As he sat, he gave out a soft but relieved sounding sigh as he finally got off his feet, gently wiggling and shifting in the old chair to get comfortable. Afterwards setting his attention on the girl in front of him, who he had suddenly remembered he hadn't introduced himself yet! "Diolch (Thank you) again for letting me sit here, my name's Dafydd by the way, it's a pleasure to meet you." He'd happily reach out his left hand across the table for a handshake as he introduced himself.

Meeting new friends.
Mia smiled as she listened to him speak. He was cheery, not an emotion she always sees around here. She shook her head as she understood that the library was a place of study most of the time and some students despised having to do such a thing. The boy was doing fine as well, he was excited to be able to clench his thirst for knowledge by answering a question that he had. She nodded as she understood this feeling as well.
'What is it that you are looking for if you don't mind me asking.' She asked as he moved closer to her table. He had asked if he would be able to join her and she had agreed. He had sat down in one of the chairs across from her. He seemed to make himself comfortable as she had placed the book down and shimmied into a more relaxed state. She admired this, many did not enjoy the seats in the library, they were not extremely comfortable, but they weren't bad either. She chuckled as she thought of the idea behind the library chairs.
'Do you think they make these chairs so that students don't fall asleep in them?' She pondered out loud. It was a silly question, but it was one that she didn't know and never really thought of until now. She listened to the boy introduced himself as Dafydd. A smile appeared on her lips.
'I am Mia, it is nice to meet you as well. I see by your scarf that you are in Ravenclaw, how do you find this house, is it nice to be there? ' She asked, she was curious, her interactions currently were with her fellow Gryffindor classmates, and they all seemed to be happy to be placed in that house.
