| ── | Archer didn't have much use for books, and by extension, he didn't have much use for libraries. But that didn't mean he wasn't about to sneak into the massive Hogwarts library, tattletale blonde hair tucked under a beanie and wand stuck in his boot. He needed a break from the Durmstrang ship, and the way ground gave way under his feet every time he took a step. A break from the teachers watchin their every move, and from the crowd he'd taken to hanging around.
So it was with some sense of relief that Archer walked into the massive building. It was suffocatingly warm inside of Hogwarts. He'd taken to snuffing out candles as he passed them by, opening windows to allow fresh air inside the ancient rooms. The castle was a couple centuries old, and Archer was willing to bet some of the rooms hadn't seen fresh air since they were first built. The smell of hot wax, dust, and mold proved as much. Even inside the library, the boy continued his somewhat thankless task, throwing his weight against one of the ancient latches. Minutes passed, rust refusing to give way under his ministrations, screeching it's complains loudly and drawing eyes from all around. "For Christ's sake" he grumbled, pulling out his wand and tapping the lock insistently. Reducio The lock gave way, making the window spring open. Archer casts Alohomora (WDC 9) Wisdom Check: [d20 : 8] + 6 = 14, success Accuracy Check: [d20 : 16] + 7 = 23 success A gust of wind tumbled into the room, picking up the papers of a nearby unfortunate student and sending them in a mad dance around the library, notes scrawled in a sad imitation of russian characters whirling around Archer. The boy plucked a paper out of the air, gaze turning towards the student they belonged to. "This says 'I am hippo'?" |
