"Hey you!"
The weather had become a lot better over the last few weeks and spring came closer with every passing day. Even though it was still a little chilly, Samantha could already be found laying on the grass a few meters from the great lake. It was her second favorite spot at Hogwarts, the library being in the first place, of course. The second year had finished all of her school work and decided to spend her free time outside. She had brought a book with her, but she wasn't interested in it. The open book lay forgotten next to the girl as she stared at the clouds drifting by in the blue sky.
Samantha gazed at the fluffy-looking clouds as she tried to see things in them. One of the clouds looked like a giant teddy bear, a big version of one she had gotten from her grandparents when she was younger. A little smile appeared on the young girl's face as she thought of her grandparents. She hadn't seen her grandparents since the summer break when she had watched Aladdin with them. Samantha and her sister had been singing, well more like screaming, Prince Ali, one of the songs from the movie almost every day in their grandparent's house.
One of the downsides of being at Hogwarts, a magical school, was the lack of music. Whenever Samantha was at home she would be listening to Spotify 24/7 on her tablet, but at Hogwarts, her tablet and music didn't work. At school, she had to rely on her memory to sing all her favorite songs. Luckily the young girl had a pretty good memory and she knew the lyrics from Prince Ali by heart.
Still laying on her back, staring at the sky she started to] sing. "Make way for Prince Ali! Say hey! It's Prince Ali!" She could hear the music in her head as she sang along with it. "Hey! Clear the way in the old bazaar," she now sang a little quieter. "HEY YOU!" she screamed at the top of her lungs and pointed to one of the clouds above her. "Let us through!"
As the brunette was screaming singing, her book lay open next to her with her favorite bookmark in it. The wind didn't only make it chilly outside, it also blew her bookmark out of her book. Samantha was too busy singing about "PRINCE ALI! FABULOUS HE! ALI ABABWA!" to notice what was happening with her personalized bookmark. She had the time of her life, laying on the ground surrounded by the grass, not caring about anything except how loud she could sing. "Show some respect, boy, genuflect, down on one knee!" she sang as her bookmark drifted away from her.

WRAPPED UP IN A LIGHT JACKET, Everly would head down the steps towards the Hogwarts grounds, the side of her bag bumping into her leg with every step. Everly was spending more and more time outside as the weather grew warmer, and so she'd come equipped that day, her bag filled with books and quills. Everly often jumped from one activity to another when bored. Reading, writing, homework, and talking with another were all among them. Perhaps one day she'd find someone new and see if they were up for a game of Uno, a curious little Muggle card game she learned of some time ago, or maybe wizard's chess. Perhaps she'd settle under a nice tree near the lake with Tzahala, who'd bat at the leaves as she stared at the clouds. Her free time had begun to dwindle, and so she jumped at the chance of some. Life was slowly getting overtaken by other priorities she had, and so she rarely had time to herself.
A warm Sunday in March was the first in a while she'd poked her head out of the castle, and she was greeted with a paper flying into her face. Everly let out a startled yelp as the lake suddenly was gone, replaced with the uncomfortable feeling of a paper stuck to her face. She held it up daintily with her thumb and index at a safe distance from her face. There was no sign of who it belonged to, and she glanced around the grounds in the direction it had come from. She quickly found a likely prospect—a girl, singing at the top of her lungs, without a care in the world. She probably hadn't noticed as her bookmark had flown away. Everly made her way over.
"Hey, you!" Everly quickly scrutinized her and found that she didn't know her. She recognized the face, likely because they were in the same year, but had never quite talked with her before. "Is this your bookmark?" She held it towards the other girl.

The brunette watched the fluffy clouds drift by, while her bookmark drifted away from her. Clueless about the piece of paper blocking somebody's view, Samantha continued singing about the mighty prince Ali. When a girl's voice reached her ear, she quickly stopped singing and sat up, trying to figure out if the girl had been talking to her. Her eyes scanned the girl and she quickly noticed the bookmark she was holding. Surprised to see her bookmark in somebody else's hands, Samantha turned to her book, where she had last seen the piece of paper. Her book was laying open on the grass and the bookmark must have flown out of it with the wind.
"Yes, it is!" she said as she looked back at the girl. Rising from the grass, she extended her hand towards her bookmark. "Where did you find it?" Samantha asked curiously as she tried to place the slightly familiar girl. Wasn't she a duellist as well? Samantha thought she had seen her duel against her house in the first stage, but the young girl wasn't sure, since that was a while ago.
"Are you a duellist?" the brunette squinted her eyes as she looked at the other girl, "you look familiar." Samantha hoped she was right and the girl indeed was a duellist, otherwise she would embarrass herself a lot. Maybe she had seen the girl somewhere else and confused her with another duellist? Let's hope not. "Or do we share classes? Or something else?"
"And thank you for saving my bookmark, by the way!" she quickly added, not wanting to seem rude for not thanking the other girl. Her mom had raised her to be kind and always thank other people when they helped her, even if it was their job. Samantha had even given the school nurse a bouquet as thank you for helping her and her fellow Ravenclaw students after the shadow spider attack in her first year.

"Hey you!"
THE bookmark was colorful, a mixture of blues and greens, and in large black letters 'SAMANTHA' was scrawled on the back. Thankfully, Everly had guessed right, and bookmark was reunited with owner—that meant her name was Samantha, then? Everly still couldn't quite place where she'd seen Sam before. "Samantha, right?" she asked, glancing back at the bookmark, before giving it to her. "It's nice to meet you! I'm Everly. What song were you singing?" she asked the girl curiously. It wasn't a song she recalled hearing before. It could be a Muggle song—it could just be that Everly only listened to one type of music. Recently, she'd been introduced to something called headphones, which had amazed her. The headphones, she learned, were placed over your ears like earmuffs, and they played music. She'd been starstruck. Were there miniature speakers (huge black circle things that played music) in the headphones? Could no one else really hear what you were listening to? And then she learned about earbuds, and her entire world was turned upside-down.
Sam asked where she found the bookmark, and Everly grinned. "It flew into my face," she told the Ravenclaw. "Which book are you reading right now? I would love some recommendations." Everly had been a huge reader when she was younger, and more recently she'd been trying to get back into it. Her current read was The War of the Worlds, which was an old book about an alien invasion, which, to be honest, wasn't really her type of book. She'd also dabbled a little in Muggle stories, more so when she was younger, but she was in desperate need of new things to read.
Dueling! That was where Everly remember Samantha from. "I am!" Everything clicked. "I think I saw your last duel." Though it was almost two months ago, she was still riding the wave she'd gotten from that duel win. Everly only hoped that the third stage would go as well as the second had. So far, though, this year's dueling season had been going way better than her first, cough. She winced at the thought of it. Everly always felt bad for the first-year duelists, who usually got pushed around a lot. She knew she did.
"Of course! Maybe next time, though, keep a hand on your bookmark?" Everly laughed a little, just so Samantha knew she meant it good-naturedly.@samantha salwis

Samantha nodded in agreement when the other girl said her name. "Hi Everly!" the brunette said cheerfully, making sure not to forget the name. Remembering people's names was an important thing for her, as it always made her feel special when people remembered her name after their first meeting. It was a great way to show others you care about them. "I was listening to Prince Ali. Well, not really listening because I don't have it with me but I listened to it in my head," she told the other with a little smile. "The song is from a movie, it's from Aladdin. Have you seen it or ever heard of it? It is amazing!" The young girl started rambling, her many words accompanied by dramatic hand gestures.
A little giggle escaped after Everly told her the bookmark had landed in her face. After quickly placing the bookmark back in her book, where it belonged, Samantha showed the cover of the book to the other girl. "It's called: the one that let it snow, and it is written by Amaëlle Nelly. It is a lovely book," she shared. "But if you want a good book to read, you should read Alice in Wonderland. That's the best book ever!" It was Samantha's all-time favorite book, especially because her parents used to read it a lot with her when she was younger.
When Everly told her she was indeed a duellist, Samantha grinned, extremely proud that she was right. With the mention of her last duel, the grin grew. Her last duel was the first one she had won and she wanted everybody to know that. Everybody should know how great she was. Admittingly, she has gotten really lucky that Phaedra, an older duellist, was her partner but Samantha was still very proud of herself.
"I will not leave my bookmark out of my sight ever again!" the young girl replied. "I will make sure it doesn't bother other students out here anymore," she said with a little smile. "I hope it didn't disturb you from something important."
