My dear little Puddle-duck,
Happy 12th birthday, darling! I hope you make it a good one. Your father and I are so, so, SO proud of the little lady you've become! You will find a super special gift enclosed with this unfortunately disagreeable owl. The darned thing tried to steal my one of a kind necklace from Monica Vinader! Thankfully, I managed to wrestle the stupid bird away in time, but not before it pooed all over my blouse! The nerve of the beast!
Your daddy is looking over my shoulder as I write this. He says I'm getting very distracted. I admit I am, but these things are important!
(Shh, he doesn't understand us women...)
A very Happy Birthday, sweetness! I love you ever so much, baby girl. I am looking forward to seeing how you grow and change over the years. Shine bright, Puddle-duck.
Love and Kisses, Mummy
Dear Bubs,
Happy Birthday! 12 is a big number, isn't it? It seems like only yesterday you took your first steps. You have no idea how proud I am. Your mother is too, even if she has a... funny way of showing it sometimes. (she told me she'd read this before she sent it , so I have to watch what I say. Yikes!)
I hope that school is still going swimmingly! (haha, get it?) And I hope that Cath is taking care of you, too. She's such a good big sister to you.
This week, I'm still quite busy at the Ministry, but I think that you'll enjoy the present Mummy and I picked out for you. You're growing into such an independent, gorgeous, powerful young lady. You should be proud of yourself too! I can see from the letters you've sent that you're making loads of wonderful new friends. Keep that up!
Happy Birthday, Bubs.
Love, Daddy

Dear Mum and Dad,
Thank you so much for the present! I love the scarf. I already have a Ravenclaw one, but tomorrow I'll swap it out for this one. 12 doesn't feel too different from 11, but I guess I'm on my way to becoming a teenager like Cath. That'll be cool.
I'm sorry to hear about your necklace, Mum, but the story made me laugh a lot! I can't wait for the next break to arrive so I can come visit. School is going really well, and I'm still spending time getting to know my new friends. We actually have a Valentines celebration coming up! We get to make sweets to hand out, and I even heard there's a big tea party planned in the Ballroom. I'll tell you how that goes for sure!
Love, Gem

I honestly forgot my birthday this year...
I didn't tell any of my new friends, but I'm glad you remembered.
Cath doesn't come round to see me anymore...
I wonder how she is today.
