First day of the rest of my life
Hayley has waited this day for nearly six months. Of course, she knew since she was a toddler that she was different from her muggle friends, even different from her mother. Strange things happen everywhere she goes, and her small family accepted it as something ordinary and didn't pay much attention to the accidents.
This was true until her last birthday. Cake, presents, friends, a letter, songs, games, just like any other muggle birthday. Wait, a letter?
Hayley never received a letter. While her mother Astra served the cake to all the kids, Hayley tore open the envelope, read the content of the letter, and started laughing. How could it be? She? A Witch? This must be a joke. The girl placed the letter on a shelf and returned to the party with her friends.
Her mood changed drastically when her mother found the letter a couple of days later while she was cleaning the house. She was indeed a witch. Astra had told her everything she knew about the wizarding world. It wasn't much, but it was better than nothing. It was particularly difficult for them buying all the school supplies, learning the customs of Hayley's new world, and they wished with all their hearts that Hayley's dad was there with them.
After several months, she was finally at the king's cross station waiting for the train to arrive. Of course, Astra was confused about the time and they arrived way too soon. This made Hayley even more nervous about this new beginning.
They were alone at the station but then, in a couple of minutes, everything changed. The station was filled with wizards and witches, children and pets. Everything was loud and filled with joy and excitement.
"That's it. This is the time to say goodbye, Hayley", told Astra her daughter. Pearl, Hayley's little sister, waved at her sister while sobbing quietly.
The young witch took a deep breath and looked at the crimson train.
"Hogwarts, here I come".
