"Now, I want you to go back to Hogwarts and stop gettin' into fights. I don't want another single owl complaining about your behavior." Her wonderful mom, sweet strict mother, was giving Juni a talking to when Juniper hadn't even DONE anything this time! "Yeah, yeah mam, I want to get a seat! You know how it is on the train. I love you." She gave her mom a rushed hug but her mother grabbed her arm. "No, Juniper Joanna Kelly. " Juniper sighed loudly. "Please, mam, if you're going to use my stupid middle name, that shouldn't start with a J because my first name does, can't you just call me JJ?" She pleaded, but it was obviously a losing cause. "Come on, Juniper. You know only granda and da only call you JJ. Its their name for you.

"Now listen, Juniper. You be good. I'm afraid your courage is much bigger than yourself, Juni.
Listen carefully. I don't want to find out that everyone knows who you are for bad things, got it?
Juniper's heart stopped for a second and she wondered if her mam knew. But no, it wasn't possible. Her friends didn't snitch, and her brother never does. "Pftt, me Known for being crazy? Nuh-uh, never. I'll have you know I'm a good E, O average student. Mother. NOW, goodbye, love you, hugs and kisses, bla bla bla." She started to jog to the train when she felt someone pick her up. "ToNy!" She yelled, but laughed. He sat his little sister on his shoulders and held her bag in one hand. "Bye, Ma!" The two turned to the train and began to wave to their mother.

Tony set his little sister down and the two walked down the train to find a seat. "Did mam give you a lecture?" She grumbled. Unfazed, Tony replied "Yep. You get used to it. She loves us, but in a strict way. I wouldn't be surprised if she did wack someone with her heel for us though." And Juni could totally picture her mom doing that. She laughed. Tony reached across her to slide a door open/ "After you, this one is empty." She walked in, followed by her brother. Her brother opened the window and pointed out their mother. "Wave to m-" Juniper stuck her head out and bellowed loudly. BYE MAM!" The two siblings waved until their mom was out of sight.

Tony closed the window and ruffled his sister's hair. "Right. I'll be going now, I have a compartment somewhere else with my mates. Try and make some- sane friends." Juniper laughed and sat in a seat. Bye loser" SHe sat back and waited. Surely someone would come in soon.

It can't get more disastrous. Just when she hoped for the better next days, life smiled with a knife behind its back. Her hopes completely shattered. The girl froze among the people like a statue. The maddening excitements pouring throughout the air. The sounds of laughter. All those suffocated her. They seemed impossible to baffle.

Hatred swallowed down her whole body at the sight of those fortunate families. Everything blackened out around her. Her hand lifted to stable her head. Drawing a deep breath, the girl stroked her own hair. It's alright. The bitterness refused to leave her face.

Who to blame? The dead father who found the wrong time to prove he still isn't dead? The mother who dumped everything within her heart forcing the young girl to go through the cluelessness? Or Vivian who pushed herself into this miserable dungeon that shuts her down.

The tiny heart overworked with fast plumping the blood and the last thought was shrugged off. A mistake in misunderstood people's eyes which is an... unacceptable blame. Her lids covered her eyes to block the so called happy view. When it reopened, her face hardened to shield her real feelings from other's eyes.

The man beside her bent slightly towards her luggage, "Allow me p-" the polite voice was cut off "-No need". Her voice croaked as her fingers clutched the irrationally heavy bag. The girl pushed her way past the uncomfortable crowd towards the train. Regardless of the cold weather, the sweat droplets popped off her forehead.

Love and laughter never haunted her before. The blonde walked and walked until a comparatively spacious compartment caught her eyes. Before her foot pressed the compartment's entrance, the girl hurled the bag inside. A heavy thud reached her ears as it hit the side. Plopping on her seat, she wiped the sweat off.

She pulled her messy hair out of its ponytail and slipped her hair tie on her wrist. A motion started in the pocket of her hoodie and she lifted the side open and her ferret sleepily stuck her head out. "Haha, bet you don't envy the owls who have the be kept in their cages, huh Poppy?" Juniper set down Poppy and reached for the window to unlatch it. A little fresh air wouldn't hurt this small compartment. Sure, this train was all magical but it just didn't satisfy her needs for fresh air like her home in Ireland. Her home. She looked out the window in the direction behind them, feeling a small pang in her chest. She would miss the cozy Christmas vibes her home provided during the break, but unfortunately, she had to return to school. She would miss Kelly, she would miss Andrew and even Finn. Finn, the boy who had tried to kick her off the baseball field claiming baseball wasn't fit for girls. She'd given him the full package; sass, sarcasm, and skill.

After that, she had gradually become more welcomed in the boy's groups or the sports kids. Andrew and Finn were among her best friends from the baseball team, they were always there to make fun of her when she had tournaments outside of school. And Kelly, her best girl friend who had heroically ran for help when Juniper was getting beaten up by the bullies who ruled the playground. Of course, she had run to Andrew and Finn for help, and when they came back they saw a few of the bullies had bloody noses and black eyes, but Juniper had still been losing. They joined in and all of them got in trouble.


Happy memories, so very happy.


Indulged in her thoughts, she didn't hear the compartment door slide open. She turned and saw a suitcase go flying towards her and she quickly ducked out of the way with a yelp. "Jesus!! What's your deal?" She said, scooping her now terrified ferret from the floor. "You could have killed me! What have I ever done to you to deserve that?" She blew some hair from her face and collected herself. "Nevermind.
Forget it. " She smiled at the girl and tried not to falter under the gaze of this girl who looked dead inside. Juniper plopped back into her seat and sat silent for a moment, pointedly looking out the window. "Um... I'm Juniper?" She said finally. She looked to the icy girl and raised her eyebrows waiting for her to introduce herself.
