Terrible Presence - Healing Sage

Aldor Humbleglow, he wasn't nearly as famous in the hospital wing as other troublemakers in school, but he used to come here for very odd reasons, when others came because of wounds caused by magic or a potion prepared the wrong way, incidents with magical creatures and even quidditch accidents, Aldor often came because of tripping while going down the stairs to the Great Hall and crashing onto the floor. He had a rather bad luck but one thing was certain, Aldor was pretty much the one student anyone would want in their class, responsible, smart and silent.

Aldor was a prodigy in almost anything he committed to do. Today he wanted to inquire about the internship in the Hospital Wing, he was aware that he wouldn't be allowed to do that until he was in the third year, it wouldn't be that long, but he was a bit impatient, at the very least he wanted to see if he was allowed to observe the nurse working and learn a bit.

He nervously approached the Nurse's desk in search for answers, Aldor wasn't very tall or with an intimidating figure, but something about him made people uncomfortable when they stood around him, more experienced wizards would know what condition this was, but others would simply avoid him because of his disturbing presence.

Finally, Aldor gathered some bravery to speak, he heard nice things about nurse Brumby, so he figured there wasn't a real reason to be afraid, yet.

"Excuse me, Nurse Brumby, sir- "

The boy smiled softly, trying his best to seem confident.

" I am Aldor Humbleglow, I believe you may know me, I was here last week uhm- The kid who rolled down the stairs- Anyway, I was wondering the possibility of joining as part of the nurse team here in the wing, I believe I'm still a year too soon here but I'd like to learn something while I have time? "

He paused, trying to think of a convincing argument to why he was a proper candidate for this sort of job.

" I learn very quickly, and I already know a few things about helping others heal with muggle techniques. "

He had some hopes for this situation, he knew that if he wasn't considered capable he was probably not going to be accepted, but he wouldn't mind, it Paul's be far worse if he didn't at least try.

The hospital wing has busy days and slow days, but even the slowest days were not without a laundry list of tasks to complete. When he started work at Hogwarts over a year ago, he had quite a few days where he sat around a bit bored, having organized and double-organized everything already. That time was far in the past though, as the more he got to know the student population, the more he had to research, experiment, and follow-up on.

There had been a period of relief after the cure to the blood curse had been discovered, and his interns had done a great job of helping him get to every inflicted student. One after the other, his list was completed, and the curse eradicated. He was a bit worried for a while that a new case might pop up, but that didn't happen either. Now, he was just wondering what was next, because there was always going to be something.

That day in particular, while he was making an inventory check on a clipboard, an awkward pre-teen with bright red hair approached with purpose. "Ahh, Aldor is yer name, huh?" The memory would bring a light chuckle, the boy's ominous presence not as effective on the far-too-laid-back nurse than it might be on someone more wary.* "I can't make exceptions fer interns, sorry bud."

Even though this was true, especially since none of the students would know any healing spells until then, Brumby would listen diligently when Aldor made his case. He liked the gusto, and the fact that he was willing to do work. It wasn't like Kels himself was much older when he started helping his mum with muggle magic, though that was a bit different. The students he took care of in the hospital were his responsibility, and he couldn't continually push back the qualifications until there were none left.

"Well... okay, I tell ya what. I can't make you an intern yet, but..." Kels would start tapping the quill he was using to write on his chin, looking thoughtfully at the tall ceiling. "I guess you could bum around a bit so long as y'don't touch anything. Like, if y'jes' wanna watch an' ask questions, y'know."

Kels would stop his pondering and smile, realizing that all he knew about this kid was that he fell down stairs a lot. "Can you promise that? Y'won't try to heal no one, and y'won't try to brew nothin'?"
