With the new Quidditch season in session, it was required for her to get some training outside of matches and practices. At least that's what she told herself, though it didn't take long for her pessimistic thoughts to kick in. The chances of her getting to step on the field were extremely slim with two amazing first-strings beaters. If she was being completely honest with herself, this was just an excuse to step out and see the light. She had been crammed in her classes all day and she couldn't pass on an opportunity to draw out her name in the snow of the Pitch.

An imprint of her sneakers stuck to the ground with each step she took. The mere half-inch of snow was the result of mother nature's gift to the students and faculty members. It was her favorite kind of weather. It was a bit warmer, just above freezing point, perhaps because the wind was steady. Emma, despite loving the arctic temperatures, hated flying in the cold. It was something she never acquainted herself with even after a couple of seasons of playing.

Along with her Chuck Taylors, her blue denim jeans had obviously seen some better days. Her hair was parted in the middle, letting her hair bounce behind her with every step she took. If she was lucky, the brunette would be able to get in an hour or two or recreational flying before her siblings decided to bother her. They always came up with unique ways to disrupt her practice, whether it was faking an emergency or... by force, to say the least. Nevertheless, it didn't bother her much anymore. Though they weren't wanted, she was just glad to have someone in her corner.

Whether it had been charmed to stay that color, the grass poking above the snowfall was bright. She clicked the lock on the leather case, revealing four bats, a quaffle, two bludgers, and of course the golden snitch. Absentmindedly, she grabbed the bat with her left and braced herself to release the iron dodgeball. They always seemed to have a mind of their own. Despite her best efforts, they were very unpredictable and had a mind of their own. She stared at the iron for a few seconds, watching it bump around in its harness. This part was never easy. In one brisk motion, she released the bludger and slid to her right, avoiding the projectile of the ball as it took to the skies. That was her cue.

Setting her bag down on the rails, a miniature blue-wooded silver arrow bobbed back and forth on the loop. Clicking the charm off, Emma set her broom on the blanket of precipitation and flicked her aspen wand. Almost immediately the sweeper grew fifty times its size. Without a second thought, she grabbed and bat and swung her legs over, eyes scanning for the bludger. There.

The Ravenclaw pushed her broom, chasing after the bobbing metal for her warmup. Her senses were undoubtedly sharp; analyzing the ricocheting patterns of the ball without realizing. From goalpost to ground to the opposing side of the field, she chased the metal trying her best to line up for a shot. Near a Hufflepuff checkered pillar, Emma she lifted her bat, aiming for the goalposts closest to her.

Now, the impact shook her entire arm. It was a familiar feeling that numbed her arm for a split second, catching her off guard. That usually didn't happen. Tossing the wooden bat to her other hand, she watched as the bludger soared to the goals. Well, near the goals. Though the odds of hitting the crossbar were slim, the ball impacted with a long clang. Where it went next? She wasn't going to watch and find out.

As of late Cash prefer to be somewhere that not many people regularly visit. Be it the Rehearsal Room, that one corner of the Great Lake, under an Oak Tree, or even the Chamber of Secret. The Chamber itself was the third of Cash's favorite place in this entire grand castle. Not many students could go to the Chamber except Parselmouths, and the green eyes were one of them.

Being one of the people that can enter the Chamber, Cash felt glad by the privilege even though only a glimpse of people knew that they are a Parsel. But still, having a place where no one know where it was exactly, Cash felt special. In case you wondering why the young Ironwoods prefer to be alone these days because most days they felt hanging out with people required energy.

The Slytherin's Beater prefers to channel their energy into something useful like practice by themselves for the next matches. So that is why now they were walking towards where Quidditch Training Pitch was located. The track alone from their house into the pitch needed some time until their feet landed on the Pitch that was now covered with layers of snow.

As they got closer and closer to the Pitch, from the distance they saw the infamous Quiddith leather case that they often time saw during matches, laid on the white ground. If the leather case was placed on the ground, it meant someone also use their time for something useful like Cash did. As soon as they looked up, the green eyes needed to duck down quickly as the metal ball of death passed above their head at a dangerous speed.

"What in the world?!"The green eyes let out a surprised yelp after the little cannonball sailed past them. If Cash did not duck down, they guaranteed the impact from the bludger itself could send Cash to the Hospital Wing before they can even begin their personal practice time. Then the third year saw someone fly and about up in the air.

"Yo!,"Cash called out to the person that was pretty high up in the air. From the ground, Cash could not see who exactly the person was. Cash waited for the person to acknowledge them. Once Milanes looked at Cash that still stood on the ground, Cash cupped their hands around their mouth to amplified their voice.

"Mind if I join you there?"They asked the other girl. Cash waited for a moment until Milanes could give out her replies. After Milanes replied to Cash's inquiry, Cash ran towards where the Slytherin locker team was located and grabbed their Comet 180. The broom itself was not as pretty and sleek as Silver Arrow.

The broom once belong to their mother and often time Cash used the broom for practice and used their Silver Arrow for the official games. Once they held the broom in their hand, Cash jogged back to the pitch again. Grabbing one of the bats from the case, astride the shaft of the broom and kick the ground. Being up in the air with the wind gently caressing their hair, the young socialites feel at home.

Once they were some meters above the ground, finally, Cash could see who the brunette-haired girl was. It was one of Ravenclaw's Beater. The green eyes never interacted with her before but that changed as of today. The Latinx knew all the Quidditch players' names by heart no matter which houses they belong to.

"Hey, Milanes!,"They greet the older girl once Cash hovers close enough near Emma. Cash wanted to address the other girl by her first name but since Cash was not that close with Emma, Cash felt like it was inappropriate to call someone you were not even friends with by their first name. Cash was about to say something to Emma.

But then their green eyes caught the little menace of a bludger. They swung the bat that they hold in their left hand with all their might. The ball flew in another direction almost passing one of the goalposts. "Shall we practice together?"They asked Emma. "But if you prefer to practice alone, it was fine too"They added some more.

"I can wait until you were finished. But, in my opinion, it is better time spend if you had someone playing as your opponent,"The young Ironwoods proposed to the Ravenclaw's second-string Beater. "So, what do you say?"Asked the serpent to the raven.
