The Owlery was cold, but he didn't mind too much as he stepped onto the landing, a letter tied with a blue ribbon held gently in his hand.
He promised his brother that he'd write to him regularly, even if he didn't have much to talk about. So write he did. He wrote about how the common room felt warm and familiar, how he was learning quite a bit in classes, and how he felt more confident in talking to people. Who knows? Maybe he'd be able to get a close friend. He's always struggled with those.
Slowly but surely, he trudged up the stairs of the Owlery, trying to locate his favorite school owl, one of the Tawny Owls which he affectionately nicknamed 'Stripe,' after the white markings on her wings. She was usually in the fourth nest once you entered that area, so he began to count the nests, eyes lighting up once he spotted her.
"Hullo, Stripe," He reached out, petting her feathers gently with two fingers. "I have a letter for Michael. Can you deliver it for me?" He smiled as she hooted softly, shuffling up and sticking out her leg, allowing Marcel to tie the letter around it, which he did with care. "Alright, then." He held out his arm, letting the owl rest on it as he climbed up to the top floor, looking at the barn owl statues as he walked onto the terrace, watching the sun turn the sky into shades of pink and orange. He's always loved sunsets. There was a quiet beauty in it all that made him smile. Gently petting Stripe on the head, he pushed up his glasses. "Make sure he gets it safe, alright?" With a gentle hoot, Stripe seemed to nod before spreading her wings, flying off into the sunset. Marcel watched her as she flew off.
He could admire the view for a few more minutes.

outfit 215 Cody was going to see Darksea. Last time he saw Darksea, it was because he was making cupcakes for others, and himself. But, those he loved, didn't love him. And so, Cody grabbed a owl sized hat that probably would fit Darksea's morepork size. He also retrieved the other pendant he had, with decorative as such of amethyst, diamond, and black and blue glitter. As well as a obsidian bracelet he had made, but he made two. One for him, and one for a special other.
When he arrived, he noticed a boy he got caught with, with Nigel, the Astronomy Professor, just a few weeks ago! Cody was wondering when he'd see him again! Not going to lie, Cody felt something about him, but was very unsure about this. So he would try to ask as cool as possible as his... awkwardness would allow.
"Hey Marc! How are you?" Nice. Real cool. Real smooth! Cody would say, then think. "Talking to Stripe?" He said, knowing the owl he was talking to. After all, that owl was right next to Cody's owl on the regular. Ah, but that owl then flew off.
He looked at Darksea. "Heyo cutie. Ready for another round of tarantulas?" He said, his pocketful of live tarantualas to feed Darksea, as well as his pendant, and bracelet deep inside his pocket.ACTION: Feeding Darksea, Talking to @Marcel Wheatley

"Um. It's... Marcel." Marcel remembered Cody far too well for someone he had only met in passing. "Marce is acceptable if you want to use a nickname though."
'Marce' was a nickname mostly reserved for close friends and family members, but for some reason, the young boy was ok with Cody using the term. "I was sending an owl to my brother using Stripe. She's my favourite owl out of the bunch. That one is Darksea, correct?"
He had seen the owl been used before, but he didn't really tend to look too much around the Owlery. He was always laser-focused on Stripe, and he didn't care too much about the other ones. However, now that Darkstripe was associated with Cody... Well, the owl was slightly more special. "Are you sending anything? Or just visiting Darksea?"
He was strangely nervous, a feeling he couldn't place. It's just another person. So why was he clammy? He wiped his hands on his cloak, pushing up his glasses yet again. Maybe Cody wouldn't notice he's acting strange, he reasoned. Maybe they would just have a normal conversation, then go their separate ways. But a part of him wanted Cody to notice he was acting weird. Strange.

outfit 209 "Yes, I'm here with Darksea- and yes, he's my owl." The part goblin said, sharply, but not in a cruel manner. He was stating it rather nicely.
"You'd rather me call you Marce? That's all right. I can call you whatever you are happy with..." Cody said... his heart thudding more.
"You have a brother? wait- tell me... uh- more... on uh Stripe.." Cody said, slowly getting closer to Marcel. His heart felt heavy. Heavy booms of worries now hit his head, his brows sweating. He noticed Marcel's hands were clammy as well... perhaps he- felt the same.
"Ah yes, i was actually here to dress up Darksea. Now, do you like me? I mean- like... like like me? Do you love me? I feel... odd. Like I like you, and not like a friend- perhaps a little more than that. I feel- like we should take the next step. I know I know, It might be too fast... but i mean- do you like me?"
Whew, that was a nervous mouthful. He felt slight anxiety when it came to asking other's opinions of him. Whether they were true or not.
That being said, he reached out his right hand in front of Marcel, hoping to hold his hands. ACTION: Talking to @Marcel Wheatley

"I would prefer Marce, if you don't mind..." He felt his cheeks get hot as Cody got closer. "I didn't know Darksea was your owl. That's nice..." His heart was racing. "I'm not... Good at romance, Cody. I never have been. I've never understood it. But you... you're the first person that has made me... want to learn more about love. About... feelings, in general." He chuckled nervously. "To answer your question... I do like you. You're nice, if a bit chaotic. And we haven't talked much, but I want to talk to you more. I like being with you, Cody." Slowly, he took Cody's right hand, then took his left. "Your hands are warm..." He moved forward, cheeks hot.
He wasn't sure what to do now. He didn't know what else to say, what he should do, but they were so close together and he was so flustered-
He slowly closed what little distance they had between them, pale cheeks a bright pink. "...Pardon me if I'm going too fast." He leaned in, closed his eyes... and gently pressed his lips against Cody's.
He was warm, but not hot. It was pleasant in a way he couldn't explain, it felt like fireworks in his throat. He pulled away after a few seconds, opening his eyes.
"...Apologies."
