A ride on the Hogwarts Express Closed

Michelle stepped onto the Hogwarts Express, her trunk, filled with books, behind her. She headed down the length of the train, looking for a place to sit. She was already wearing her brand-new Hogwarts robes, with her wand in her pocket. Her dark brown hair was pulled back into a high ponytail, and her grey eyes were a bit sad, and angry at the same time.

Her parents had not come to see her off for the start of her new life, at a new school. Instead, her father had went to work bright and early, while her mother was back at home, taking care of her little brother, who was only six. Michelle found that extremely frustrating. Couldn’t her stupid brother survive by himself for a few minutes without someone fussing over him? Their house was a five minutes’ walk to the train station!

No, instead, she was here, all by herself, on her first day of school. Just great.

Michelle was quite early, so she had no trouble finding an empty compartment. She pushed open the sliding glass doors of the compartment, and sat down by the window, after storing her truck in the overhead compartment. She stared out the window.
