Pen pals
River had met a very nice boy at Hogwarts while she had been there.
She had decided to send him a letter, and hope he would return one, kind of like what muggles called Pen pals.
She pulled out a quill and started to write, in neat writing.
River folded up the letter and put a cookie inside, before taking it too a school owl,cherdear Youssuf,

It is River Fayre, I think we met at PigWarts,Hogwarts if I've gotten the wrong person, I'm horribly sorry! But with the hopes of getting the right person, I shall go on, if your the wrong person, well I guess that you will be reading some weird things! Well anyway, I am sending you this letter from my family's owl, her name is Ombrea (said OH-bray-Ah) she is very nice, but will want a cookie, I'll include one in here, or she will bite, to return the letter back to me, should you want to, just tell Ombrea to go Home, or to Beauxbâxtons, I'm at Beauxbâxtons right now, so i would send it there, well I think that is all!

"Please take this to the Fayre household please" she said, handing a owl the letter, it would be dropped off at her house, along with another letter asking her parents to send that letter to Hogwarts (or Pig warts as River called it) and then hopefully Youssuf would send back a letter, hopefully to River directly, letting the owl free River watched it leave, hoping the boy from another country would get the letter.

Pen pals
Youssuf shivered with cold as he stood in the Owlery, reading the letter River Fayre had sent him. She was a girl he'd met before, from Beauxbatons. She was nice enough, and apparently wanted to be pen pals! She'd included a cookie inside too. He crumbled the cookie and fed it to the owl; the poor thing looked exhausted.
Then he sat down on a bench and began writing his reply, sucking on his quill ruminatively. She'd taken the effort to write it all in English; perhaps he should return the courtesy by writing in French? His uncle had taught it to him for years.

He wrote it in a crimson ink, hoping there wouldn't be grammatical mistakes. Then he whistled to the owl and told it carefully to go Home, as River had said. It gave him the eye and flew off, after he'd tied the letter to its leg.Chère River,
Je ne peux pas vous dire à quel point je suis heureux d’avoir de vos nouvelles. Ombrea est arrivée il y a quelques minutes. Elle était très fatiguée, alors je lui ai donné le biscuit et de l’eau aussi. Elle est devenue très amicale après cela. Quoi qu’il en soit, j’espère que vous allez bien? Nous nous sommes rencontrés à Poudlard, même si je ne pensais pas que vous vous souviendriez de moi du tout. Nous allons donc être des correspondants à partir de maintenant? Merveilleux!

Pen pals
River had been doing some things since she had sent out the letter, her mind had followed a few steps behind her, as she wondered if Youssuf had gotten the letter, did the British boy even remember her? She hoped so.Writing as NPC River Fayre.
Well all worries were lost when a owl, Ombrea, flew in, this meant it was either from her Mama and father, or it was from the Boy at Pigwarts.
When she opened it she smiled, he had replied!
Reading it she noticed the red ink, and that he had wrote it in French, how thoughtful! Getting out some Ink she started to reply.

How great it is that you got my Letter! I loved the Rouge Red Ink! Sadly I only have this boring Black Ink, or I would write to you in another Colour, which is your favourite? I can send for one from Mama hopefully she won't spill it all over! What Maison house are you in? Your houses ate very cool, Snakes and Badgers and birds and what is the other? Forgive my brain, i really should look it up. Well it's time for a class got to go!
