Potion Disaster
It was a Thursday afternoon and Mae Winters was sitting in potions class gazing out of the window as the professor was talking on and on about something that had to do with the potion they were making today. Although Mae didn't mind too much, she could maybe just wing it and hope that she would get it right, even though one of the main lessons of the class was to pay attention. Mae snapped back into reality and watched as a student closed there textbook and another did as well. The teacher put the name of the potion on the board as some students were quickly peeking into there books while others were getting up to go get ingredients for the potions. "Okay so we are making the Black Fire Potion, should have a black or purple color," Mae mumbled to herself while squinting to look at the board. "Okay what am I gonna need?" Mae asked herself as she opened her book. "Salamander blood, wartcap and bursting mushrooms, seems easy," She said as she closed her book and got up to go get the ingredients. She thought that she could grab all of the ingredients but was going to be incredibly mistaken. Mae grabbed the salamander blood and wartcap and started to make her way back to her seat. Suddenly gravity took it's course of action as the salamander blood slipped from Mae's hands and shattered on the floor. Some of it hitting a nearby student "Oh my god! I am so sorry, I didn't mean to, really," Mae said as she covered her hands over her mouth.

Potion Disaster
Kai Greene was not having a great day. There had been 2 essays due today and an exam, so she was really looking forward to her favourite class, potions, which was the last class of the day. They were supposed to brew a potion called The Black Fire Potion, following the instructions in the book.
Kai was busy trying to brew her potion when she felt a cold splash on her legs. She looked up to see an embarrassed girl, profusely apologizing. Kai assured the girl, saying, "It's no problem really, don't worry about it. It happens to the best of us,", trying to make the girl to stop apoligizing for such a small accident. From the small amount of time that she had been at Hogwarts, Kai had found that her house, Slytherin, didn't have the best reputation. They were known for being cutthroat and mean, something that didn't really describe her bubbly personality. She wanted to break this stereotype by showing them that the majority of Slytherins are as nice as all of the other houses.
After washing up in a nearby bathroom, Kai returned to the potions class, finding the same girl struggling to keep up due to the setback. Kai made her way to the desk, and as a peace offering, she asked, "Do you need any help? I'm Kai by the way,".

Potion Disaster
The girl that Mae had stupidly dropped a potion on looked up. Mae could feel her face getting warm from embarrassment. "It's no problem really, don't worry about it. It happens to the best of us,", she said. Mae studied the girl for a minute. She saw the green of the robe and immediately thought she was a Slytherin. Mae had met a few Slytherins and despite the reputation she believed them all to be incredibly sweet. Mae watched as the girl left the classroom, presumably to go get all the potion that she had spilled on her off. Mae couldn't believe this of all things she could've done she dropped a potion on a person, granted it wasn't anything harmful. At leasts that's what Mae hoped. The girl cleaned up with all of the potion gone and walked over to Mae. "Do you need any help? I'm Kai by the way,". she said, thank goodness this girl seemed like a sweet person otherwise she could've gotten a much angrier Slytherin. "Hi Kai, I'm Mae, and yeah I think by the looks of it I may need a little help," she said with a face mixed with embarrassment and awkwardness.

Potion Disaster
Mae then saw a person run to the front of the room to grab a towel. It was most likely because Mae was being super clumsy and dumb. The kid then came to Mae to hand her the towel and she saw him observe her robes. the red in his robes meant he was a Gryffindor. Mae had met only one or two Gryffindors since the time being here. Mae took the towel and started cleaning the table "I'm Norman," the boy said "I was sure that I would be the one to mess up. But all things considered, the potion spilling is not the worst that could have happened. Imagine if it became acid and melted the cauldron." he then added rambling a bit. "It looked perfect though. If you want, we can finish mine then present it together?" he offered. "Thanks for the towel," Mae said. "My names Mae and yeah at least I didnt burn a cauldron, then I would think I'm super not ready for potions," she said calmly. "Yeah sure, thanks for the offer," she added with a smile, it was nice that she could get help and not make a fool of herself again.

Potion Disaster
After offering her assistance to Mae, Kai noticed a Gryffindor boy standing nearby, towel in hand. He held his cauldron in hand, seemingly offering it to Mae. Kai waved towards the boy, "Hi, my name's Kai! I'm guessing from your robes that you're Gryffindor! That's really cool! Unless you're one of those people who doesn't like Slytherins, which is definitely less cool...", Kai trailed off, realising that she had been talking for much too long. To avoid embarrassment, she turned towards Mae, asking, "So what do you need me to do? Stir, cut, mash...?" Kai glanced around, her face still a little red from her earlier awkwardness, looking for something to do.
Since Kai didn't see anything to do at the moment, she decided to continue on her own potion as there wasn't much time left. While reaching for newt eyes, her sleeve knocked over a box full of various powders. Of course. She wasn't entirely what spell she should use to clean it up, so she began to scoop it up by hand, pouring it back into the box it came from, which ended up staining her sleeves with orange powder. Kai made her way back to the sink once again, and began scrubbing her robes once again.
