Calypso is the only child in her family. She did at one point have an older brother named Rueben but he mysteriously disappeared after he had a huge disagreement with his mother. Calypso was only 6 years old when he left. Calypso has few few memories of him, but the most vivid memory was the first time she had ever rode a horse. She was four years old, and Rueben just sat her up on the horse and walked her around the ring at the stables near her house. Her parents told her that she used to think Rueben was the most amazingly, coolest person she’d ever seen, and that Calypso looks so much like him. The name of her mother is Iris, and the name of her father is Daemon. In her time at Hogwarts, Calypso's mother was also a Hufflepuff. Calypso's mother works for the Ministry of Magic's Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, and her father is a muggle and a lawyer. Her family has lived in Boroughbridge, England, for generations. In the days before she came to Hogwarts, Calypso often visited the stables, where she would usually speak to the horses and make friends with them. There were many times when she was so carried away brushing, caring for, and pampering the horses that she would forget it was getting late.
Now that Calypso is here at Hogwarts, she misses her old home and the stables she had visited for years. She enjoys spending her time at the owlery where she can play with the owls. She also likes to explore the grounds of Hogwarts, where she finds many tiny creatures

Calypso was just nine when she learned about the Wizarding World for the first time. She was drinking hot chocolate that she made with her mom while watching a movie with her family. She was super excited to watch the movie, and her dad had been on a trip for a while and had finally returned. Before even half the movie was through, Calypso had finished her hot chocolate, so she went to the sink to clean the cup. But as soon as she got to the sink the cup had refilled itself completely with piping hot cocoa. She dropped the cup and shouted for her mom. When she explained to them what had happened, her parents were completely unconcerned, and after explaining to her what it meant, She got all excited and started dancing around the living room, which led to her slipping in the hot chocolate and causing all the excitement to disappear.
