Nice place huh?
Classes had just finished and I walked down the halls towards the library to do my homework after which I just wanted to read a good book for a bit. The homework I was assigned wasn’t very hard and could be completed in about an half an hour if I didn’t get distracted. All I had to do was do a bit of research and write some stuff about a few spells and I’d be done. I walked into the library and went all the to the very back where there were a few sets of tables to sit at. I went around the table and to the back, and put my book back down to the ground before sitting at the table. Of the four seats at the table, this one was closest to the corner and I liked the sense of privacy it gave. Not that the library didn’t offer any privacy, but this offered a better sense of it, even if I was reading the book flat on the table. After I was finished doing my homework, I put my items in my bag and went up to a book shelf in the ‘Dark Fantasy’ section about 15 meters away and started searching for good read. I spent a few minutes of searching for a book with an interesting sounding title, grabbing it out to read the blurb, and putting it back because it didn’t capture my attention. But I did eventually find a book called ‘The Last Apprentice, Revenge of the Witch’ which was apparently a book about a boy named Thomas Ward who was apparently the last apprentice of the spook, Old Gregory. Now this book sounded interesting so I started reading the first chapter to see if I’d like it or not and guess what? I liked it. So I decided to go back to my table where I’d continue reading the book before I checked it out it of the library in a few hours so I could continue reading it tomorrow. Except when I came back, a Hufflepuff girl was already sitting in the spot diagonally across from where I was and she must have not noticed my book bag at the other end of the table. Either that, or she just decided to sit next to a stranger that day. Either way, I sat down at my spot and hoped she didn’t mind if I was too talkative before saying “Nice place huh? That’s why I love to sit here, back of the library, no distractions. And in case you’re wondering, I was already sitting here.” I then lifted up my book bag as proof of my statement.David - fff79e

I was quite bored. Why? Because I completed all my homeworks and was only left to do, nothing. I decided to atleast read something. I liked comic books, which my dad gave me. But the point is, I don't like reading it in a open spot. A place which doesn't comes in eye to the other students and is also comfortable. That was the best, hopefully I found one. It was at the corner. I sat on one of the chair, not totally near the corner, I never felt comfortable sitting there. I took out my comic books and started reading them. After a few hours, for me it is hours, because I don't get to know the time past while reading my books. However, after a few hours, someone came, a boy. It was a Hufflepuff as I guessed by his robes. He sat at the corner and said, "Nice place huh? That's why I love to sit here, back of the library, no distractions. And in case you're wondering, I was already sitting here."
He then lifted his bag as a proof to the statement.
"Yeah, I don't mind if you sit here. By the way, I am Anna. Anna Washington. And yourself?" She asked, politely.

“Yeah, I don’t mind if you sit here. By the way, I am Anna. Anna Washington. And yourself?” Anna asked after I told her that I was already sitting here. As my answer to that, I went on a long rant saying “Not exactly what I was asking, but I’ll take that as a yes. And I’m David Howard, the muggle-born kid from Brockham England who spits at all your insults and very slowly annoys you half to death. Well, I don’t actually like to annoy people half to death and will gladly stop talking if you tell me to, but I really love to ramble and hopefully have a good time with people, depending on who they are and based on how much respect everyone gives them. I mean, I don’t exactly want my parents to get an email from the principal, or in this case an owl from the headmaster because I let loose my tongue at a time they deemed not appropriate. And by now you probably see just how much I like to talk but guess what? I don’t like to be the only one talking so if you wanna say anything, please do.” Then, as I noticed her comic book, I jokingly asked “And what comic is that? Not that I’m interested, but I heard that people like you more if you pretend you are. I also heard that people like you less if you specifically say you’re not interested so it was probably a mistake to say the last part. But whatever, I also heard that most people are pretty forgiving so I’m good unless that’s a lie.”Dave - #fff79e

His long talk went on... Truly it was annoying. Anna never met someone so talkative in her whole life, except her younger sister, Sarah. By the way, she got more and more curious as he continued.
Till, atlast he said, "And what comic is that? Not that I'm interested, but I heard that people like you more if you pretend you are. I also heard that people like you less if you specifically say you're not interested so it was probably a mistake to say the last part. But whatever, I also heard that most people are pretty forgiving so I'm good unless that's a lie."
She was quite impressed.
"I don't mind anyone saying anything. But yes, they must not pretend to be something which they aren't from inside. You are open-minded and I like that. Even though if you say, you aren't interested, that is a lot for me. Like a hint in which you are interested or not. It's necessary to know friends likewise...." Anna's voice
trailed off. It seemed as if she was also going on a long speech.
That was her main problem. If she gets someone talkative, she also becomes one. If she gets someone less talkative, she also becomes one. Not to pretend, but to comfort the next person.
"By the way, I have met many Muggle-borns. I am a Half-blood but I lived like a Muggle... Until one day, I got the Hogwarts letter. It changed my life." Anna hesitated, "My mom was a witch. She hid that secret from my dad. My dad hated the magical world. He is a Muggle but knew that the magical world exists."
Anna looked at David.
"Um... Actually I like comics, very much. By the way, what are you reading now?" Anna asked, curious to know more.

Anna looked at me, seeming a bit surprised, and a bit confused. Well to be honest, I too, was a bit confused. I said everything so fast, I didn’t really understand half of what I said but in a moment, I caught up. And then Anna started talking. “I don’t mind anyone saying anything. But yes, they must not pretend to be something which they aren’t from inside. You are open-minded and I like that. Even though if you say, you aren’t interested, that is a lot for me. Like a hint in which you are interested or not. It’s necessary to know friends likewise....” Wait, what? I played that in my mind a few times before I finally understood what she said. Most of the stuff I hadn’t even started talking about and she just started talking about it. And then she started again. “By the way, I have met many Muggle-borns. I am a Half-blood but I lived like a Muggle... Until one day, I got the Hogwarts letter. It changed my life. My mom was a witch. She hid that secret from my dad. My dad hated the magical world. He is a Muggle but knew that the magical world exists. And, um... actually I like comics, very much. By the way, what are you reading now?” And now I had to reply. “Well if you truly dont mind anyone saying anything, then I really wish the world was full of more people like us. And yes, I am open-minded. I’ve changed sides on arguments many times due to good reasoning and it’s very sad in my opinion that there exist people that think that their opinion is fact. And I wouldn’t consider us friends just yet since we only met. And how exactly did your dad know about the magical world? Were his grandparents magical and one of his parents a squib? Or was he under the effects of a love potion prior to meeting your mom? I mean, anything could be possible. And as for you liking comics, it’s not bad to like them. My brothers Matthew and George like them very much and I don’t have a problem. I actually enjoy reading them occasionally but since you asked, right now I’m reading ‘The Last Apprentice, Revenge of the Witch’. which is about the last apprentice of the Spook of the County. Not that he’s a bad guy or anything although it really sounds like he is in my opinion.”Boy, did I talk a lot. Well, at least I warned her about it, or at least I thought I did since I didn’t really remember. But now I only hoped that Anna talked back just as much as last time since uncomfortable silences sucked.Dave - #fff79e
