Warning Car crash (Tho I managed to not go in details)
Backdated to December holiday
The blue eyes turned back to her mum directly after glancing through from the window, the way she rubbed her tickling nose caused it to be more notably sanguine. "Where are we?" the silence broke and her heart softened realising she didn't go home for nothing. Finally, the day she waited for arrived! The day she's gonna have so much fun with her mum. "Mmm sorry love, we didn't arrive at the exact place yet but the car park is quite far from the restaurant, so could you wait here for- no, Better take right and go straight, from there take 2nd left and from there 3rd right, there you can see a restaurant, will you be able to go alone?" finally taking a breath after rushing all the words, her mom flicked her eyebrows in hurry at Vivian through the rearview mirror.
Face scrunched and fingers scratching her head, the girl nodded trying to memorize the directions. Glancing outside, the blonde viewed just plaster walls all around, cracks visible to casual eyes and snow covered the roofs of the building. Something about this day was strange and on top of that, it was quite anomalous that her mum brought her so far away to a place where there's not even a car park available. The pondering young mind got distracted by her mum's voice "Okay, I'll be back in a minute! Now, you go", her mother rushed her out before Vivian could ask anything. Rising to her feet with her brows scrunched, Vivian gazed at the car passing from the sight, possibly to the parking lot.
The young girl started trudging as her eyes drifted away from the car. Abruptly, her feet stopped before taking another step forward, eyes widened and thumbs fidgetted. No through road, that's when she realised she was walking in the wrong direction. But how? she thought she was perfectly following her mum's guidance. If the pathway she took was wrong, she had no idea what the right one is. Stuffing her hand into her pullover pocket, her fingers lurched in it to grab her phone. Hell no! Where's the stupid moronic phone? rotten luck! Grunting, she turned back and trampled on some other way until shagged out.
The lethargic girl walked close to the wall, her clothes slightly brushing against it. In a flash, she was brought to a halt by a rivet on the wall? she didn't know what exactly it was but that thing caught her winter coat. Vivian tried pulling it away but failed. By getting the coat off, she didn't want to freeze in cold. Even a single second without her coat would cause her uncomfort when she's already slightly ill. The fake pen?! where's it? Gosh! It was there inside her pocket all this time but where is it now? Her eyes wandered around and reached the pen lying a few steps away from her, resting on the snow. Hugging herself in the cold, the eyes brimmed over with helplessness.
Thereupon, a faint click clacking of footsteps got her interrupted between her rue time. The scarlet face abounded in relief, jerking her head up to see a blurred vision of a brown haired man, quite possibly of the late thirties. Excuse me, I apologise for bothering you but d'you mind doing a favour practising couple of times, she tried to free her clothes. Despite, the voice first heard wasn't of hers. "Need a hand?" the stranger smiled gently at her. The girl nodded with a little sigh "Please". They both were hauling it away from the wall but the more they pulled, the more the topcoat ruined. In a snap, the cloth tore off. Tho the part that's stuck was still stuck. Were they so harsh on her precious new coat or is it just so this low quality?! That sucks! Not to mention how embarrassing it is in front of a stranger!
Blood rushing to the head ended in Vivian slogging the rough fall and had it backfire on her. "Ouch" waggling her sore hand, she squeezed her eyes shut in pain. At least the gloves she had on prevented even more harm. The stranger covered his mouth as he muttered under his breath at her behaviour. A trace of annoyance on his sandy beige face, he opened his mouth to say something but stopped himself with a little shake of the head. He stretched his hand which had a grey jacket that he just a few seconds ago pulled away from his bag "Your wish, whether to take it or not". Being prone to cold, Vivian couldn't say no to it. "Thank you" she smiled awkwardly. With difficulty as the pain increased in her knuckles, she changed to the new... no, it didn't look it but basically new to her.
Giving him a smile, she moved back on track. Well, it was oversized but no complain. She's already grateful for the help but does he always has a spare with him? Who cares! it did good to her! picking her pen up, she continued. Must have used it already, at least that would've prevented all the unnecessary bruises. The girl stopped asudden and turned back. Why didn't her brain work a few minutes ago? Rushing back to the man, "Sorry again, another help. d'you know where to find restaurant Enigma?", as she sneezed. Sliding her hurt hand into her pocket, she looked up waiting for an answer.
"Oh, a coincidence, that's where I am heading", he turned his head towards her. God sent this man! If he didn't pass her, she would've been standing helpless unless her mum would find her. "I can follow you, no?" the blonde shrugged as she paced beside him. "Sure" as he fixed his gaze at front. The stranger seems to be a really good man too... but what if he's a kidnapper? Urghhh! Be positive! She reminded herself, That's her new year resolution. "That's a relief, I forgot my mum's instructions already and I am not interested in getting lost again, I mean not lost, just had tough time finding the way" she giggled with awkwardness. 'Stop blabbering Vivian' she warned herself. With a little shake of head, he chuckled at her and gestured to her hand, "Do you feel any better?".
He gazed at her with concern. In a brisk manner, "Yes" she lied even though just a little flicker caused her more discomfort. Whatever, it's hardly a problem for this someone who often gets hurt. His voice softened much "I know- knew someone as pettish... you reminded me of her" giving her a chuckle. Well that wasn't funny AT ALL. The word sounded rude to her and she could do nothing but smile at his not so compliment for the sake of getting to her destination without making an issue. After a few minutes of silence, "Here" the man gestured to a place built in with brick wall. The restaurant name's words are formed with pebbles and some were missing, making the letters incomplete. The vintage lamp hanging inside and outside. Looked dim and old but something about this place was soothing.
"Thank you so much for both this-" she pointed at the coat he gave "-And that" and waved her hand towards the eatery. With a smile, the girl reached for the doorknob. Before she could touch it, the door yanked from the other side. "Where the hell were you?! D'you know how long I've been searching for you?! Seeing your coat without its owner... Chuffing hell!" Her mum rapped out, her eyes widened and burning with anger.
"I-I" Vivian wanted to defend herself and expected her mum to realise that all the mistakes weren't on her part but instead she remained silent. She must've been scared. After all, her mum lost all her people, that must've frightened her out. A teardrop fell from her brown eyes and she pulled Vivian into a hug. As her grip loosened and the blonde released herself from the hug, "I got lost an-" the girl stopped seeing her mum's attention was caught but something else. Following her gaze, The girl noticed it was that man, standing a few steps away from them. He froze, staring at them with open mouth. What? her eyebrows creased.
He murmured something and the girl puzzled out that it was her mother's name. "We need not be here anymore" Her mum voice trembled. Before her mind could work, she was haled by the older blonde out of the restaurant. "Why? I don't understand-". "You don't have to" her mum cut her off. That exact line drove her mad, "You can't say that mum!". The girl wanted to scream but that would lead her to nothing. But silence won't do anything too. Trying to release herself from her mother's grip "I know why you're running away!" she lied.
Her mum stopped. The brown eyes Stared into hers, horror stricken. The lips already started quivering. Vivian tried having a blank expression on her face. "What are you blabbering on?" she continued dashing Vivian with her. Her hand already hurting, irked her even more. The girl tearing up got her mum vexed and that's what she wanted. "Stop that, Vivian!" she shouted. The woman appeared so shaky but still not looked like she'd stop. "Why d'you always do this to me? I don't get it- and after seeing him- I know he said YOUR name!" she cried out. Her mum finally stopped.
"Get inside" her voice and expression being cold, she gestured to the car. That drove her mad as hell. Her lips parted to protest, "Just. get. in!" she snapped. From the corner of her eyes, she noticed that man stood far away from them watching all this. The girl got in but not in silence. The car was driven in an eerie manner but it's almost not a problem at this moment. "You owe me an explanation! Who the hell is he? Why did you run away seeing him? You didn't like talking about dad, I accept it! But when you don't even talk about anyone in your life and keep everything a secret- that's crazy! Look, you think you're so intelligent by avoiding-?!".
"Drop it..." she said gasping for breath. This moment of her not being wary didn't stop her. "How can I?..." she kept on repeating endlessly on the doubts that filled her mind about her father and the stranger, mindless of the dizziness on her mum's face. She paid no attention to anything around her. In the blink of an eye, the car got crashed and her head hit against the doorside of the car. Right off, her eyes got shut.
