Ravenclaw v Hufflepuff
A chilly Sunday morning, the spectators would mill about the high point of the hill that overlooked a majority of the track. Binoculars hung around the necks of the most prepared youths and oversized mugs of hot chocolate filled the gloved hands of the even better prepared Hogwarts students. The day before left a blanket of snow on the ground and the need for heavy boots. Broom Racing is a recently revived sporting activity that gained popularity after Beauxbatons visited Hogwarts during the last year. The day before the spectators bore witness to the incredibly carnage that was racing and many were here today to see if it was worse.Date: January 9, 2022
Time: 10:00 am.
Weather: Cold, moderate snowfall.

Armed with shiny new brooms, the Ravenclaw team would mount their brooms. Their technicolored captain Aurora Ranvier would be watching the match from the side lines. It would be the incredibly handsome co-captain, Ari Gwild a first year that quite possibly thinks scars will attract the chicks (he is right) that would race with the team and he would fly to the start. He was followed a parade of first years. Sleepers really if they played their cards right. Lin Evanvleck, a first year would make her way to the start after Ari. In her first year she would experience a lot, the least of which would be 'safety.' Clair Fernandez, a rather social young woman who has a lot of faith in her first-year wizarding skill would quickly follow, the applause of the crowd might sooth her nerves. Emily Brewer would follow suit, the clapping might grow a little louder as the young woman made her way to the start of her first race, an exciting but potentially terrifying experience indeed. FInally, first year Victoria Asminy Honest would find her way onto the pitch also. This was a lot to take in for someone so new, but she was doing well.
There were house elves on hand to drag away the injured and unconscious. Nurse Kelsey was going to likely be pulling another all-nighter after this match. The crowd would start cheering for the Ravenclaw Racers, this being their first race of the year, it was the hope of many that the Eagles would have a strong season this year.Ravenclaw Racing Team

A light snow would start to fall as the golden clad house of badgers mounted their brooms and made their way to the pitch. Their captain was an unexpected badger the size of a mouse, Avery Gallows a first year. The potential prodigal talent was followed by her supper classman, fifth year Serena Towers who was formerly Hufflepuff's undefeated Seeker. Ami Procoppio was not racing but she was probably nearby, the team co-captain, workaholic and strategic extraordinaire. Jack Warren, a former Prefect turned school bully would follow the ladies to the start line. Jack was contrasted by Simon, a fan favorite, especially among the young ladies for his uncanny resemblance to a pop sensation in his younger years. Finally Winter would make her way to the start line, her name appropriate for the inclimate weather. The snow flakes started to get larger.
The actual course was actually worse, little did the racers know. As if their moderator wanted to specifically murder them. Good job. The actual course would be reviewed, a gentle and slow loop of the course so that everyone was aware of the expected route. There were a number of challenges for the racers to overcome, they would have to weigh the options of speed and safety as they attempt to navigate this race.Hufflepuff Broom Racing Team

Ravenclaw v Hufflepuff
In truth, Serena probably ought to be more scared of Broom Racing than Quidditch. It was harder to predict and there appeared to be more dangers. Quidditch? She kind of knew what to expect - the opposing team would do anything to stop her from getting the snitch, including cheating. In broom racing, there were no guarantees and the only thing to expect was the unexpected. The course differed each time and it was probably more dangerous than the people, though they also had to be watched. If there was one constant, it was that they had to be vigilant at all times - a lesson that Hogwarts had taught her well.
Making her way onto the pitch, she raised her hand, pressing her fingers against her forehead in a salute towards the captain and co-captain of the team, if she was also present. Her broom held in the other hand and her wand tucked neatly into a wand holder on her forearm. Offering a fistbump to the team as they gathered together, she grinned, "Let's do this," She sounded far more confident than she felt but honestly, her goal was just to have fun. It had been a while since she could distract herself from life by flying through the air. For a day, this sport gave her a purpose in life and that was all that mattered today.

Ravenclaw v Hufflepuff
Clair was grinning from ear to ear, this was her first Broom Race and her only hope was that she got out of it in one piece, or at least if she was going to be in two pieces two that she could be fixed into one again.
She had Owled her Mum telling her she was going to be racing in a broom race that was completely safe. It had only been a minor lie, but one that had made it she she was allowed to do it, even if her mum had not Clair was sure she still would have, or else at least gotten into Quidditch, which was a cool sport that was by far safer!
Clair was third out, following her Co-Captain and a fellow first year Lin.
In one hand washer shiny new Silver Arrow broom, in the other her wand, later she would put her wand in it's holster.
Over the clapping she heard Juniper Kelly yell something that mad Clair smile even more.
This was going to be fun!

Victoria shifted uncomfortably. She was worried, but she certainly wasn't going to show it to the outside. She walked over to her team, trying to gain confidence in herself. The weather was cold and lightly snowy. But Victoria didn't care. She wanted to make a good impression in her first match.
Victoria took a deep breath and gave the team captain a ready smile. But she still didn't feel ready. She gripped her broom tightly and tried to calm herself. Hufflepuff looked really good, but she thought her team could beat her. She popped a piece of candy in her mouth and muttered, "Let's do it then."

Ravenclaw v Hufflepuff
[font=Tempus Sans ITC]H[/font]onestly, this was nothing. Jack had little worry about who would win this race, and his confidence showed by the cocky grin he had plastered across his face. There was a small glimmer of hope that he'd some poor Ravenclaw get decimated by the Whomping Willow. That damn tree was as brutal as a tree could get, and Jack was absolutely here for it. The third-year wore a simple pair of jeans with black boots, along with a jacket sporting his team colors, black and yellow.
[font=Tempus Sans ITC]F[/font]ollowing the diminutive Serena, Jack could only feel that the Ravenclaw's were in for a whole can of whoopin'. However, Jack had played Quidditch with Towers, so he knew precisely what the part-Goblin could do. Like a leaf in the wind, the young man lazily walked towards his group with his Silver Arrow hoisted across his shoulders. A single hand rested on the head of the broom while Jack gave menacing grins to his opponents. Finally, now noticing Serena's fist, Jack touched his knuckles against hers. His smile went from a murderous grin to a friendly smirk like a switch was flipped in his mind. "We are gonna mop the track wit' those birds!"
Action: Fist bumping @Serena Towers and thinking about the best way to introduce a Ravenclaw to the Whomping Willow.

Ravenclaw v Hufflepuff
It was time, Winter had been waiting for this moment ever since she heard about broom racing! The thrill and adventure of it all had been so much to think about it brought so much curiosity and happiness to Winter. Of course, it was only natural for anyone to be nervous, especially for someone who had been completely new to this sort of thing but she wouldn't let anything stop her from doing her absolute best in this!

She quickly made her way to the set area not wanting to be late, her broom was held tightly in her grip. A smile had grown on her face as she saw the teams, both her own and that of Ravenclaw. Before heading to her own team she waved to the Ravenclaws that had already shown up, grinning "g-good luck you guys!" though it wasn't her team it mattered not, either way, she gave them respect.
She finally made it over to her own group and gently pressed her fist against her own teammates, a fistbump. Winter was grateful to have such nice people on her team, nice people to look up to in and out of the games! "yea!" she grinned though she wasn't too keen about as the older male had said 'sweep the track with those birds' she just hoped it was meaning defeat them and nothing more, she never liked violence unless it was necessary.

Anxious jitters seemed to follow Avery with each step. As she made her way to the beginning of the course, the captain locked eyes with her co-captain standing on the sidelines. The small encouragement from the older girl gave Avery the courage to continue taking those steps. She made eye contact with each and every member of her team, reminding them that this is it, this is game time, this is time to win.

Emily was very nervous about her very first broom race match. She has been nervous all morning, she even spilt her pumpkin juice on her robes so she had to redress herself again. The amazing captain of the Ravenclaw team has steamed her ready for this game, but still very excited to rock it on the field! Together with her team, she knew she'd provide an amazing match, one to never forget!

Lin and her twin were in front of the stands. The Ravenclaw was about to take the field, her new broom over her shoulder. She had concentrated on getting her hair blue, to show everyone that she was in Ravenclaw. A little stressed, Lin watched her sister move into the stands. She followed Ari onto the field with a half smile.
— GO ARI, GO CLAIR- CLAIR, GO LINNNNN! I'M YOUR BIGGEST FAAANSSS! LOOKING GOOOD LINN!!!
Despite all the cheers from the stands, Lin could hear her best friend's encouragement perfectly. She smiled at her friend's enthusiasm and almost burst out laughing at the sight of an excited Juni. Lin even thought she saw Poppy, Juniper's ferret.
As soon as she turned her head, she saw the Hufflepuff team and the starting line of the race. Stressed, Lin not at all a little bit a lot very much.

Winter weather within the Scottish Highlands didn't let him down. There was still a cast of gray over the skies as clouds blanketed the sun thankfully. Being his first race on the Hufflepuff House Team, he really didn't want something as silly as how the sun affected his dhampir self to get in the way - not that he didn't take extra precaution just in case. No, he was ready for this match - in both preparation and excitement.
He made his way to the start line and looked out to the crowd that had gathered to watch and caught sight of Haley and waved down to her before giving her a thumbs up to show that he wasn't nervous. And he wasn't! Maybe it was from having experienced the summer race already but Simon was focused and Simon was ready.
