The Start of Something New
Kassie flung her bag over her shoulder, her favorite bag of cookies into her suitcase, and her backpack found it’s place on her back. She was ready, at least when you see how packed her suitcase was. But was having extreme anxiety about life at Hogwarts. She didn’t know how to prep for the extreme stress of working hard, and making new friends. She didn’t have much luck making friends here, her only friend from around here was named Robin, and she just became friends with her last year. They would act like goofballs together, and she didn’t know if she would find someone who acted like Robin, or enough that they could become friends. She decided to solve that by acting less like Kassie, at least until she gets to know them.
She steps out of her room, to be greeted by her dad but her brother and mom went to work. They said their goodbyes the day before. She gives her dad a hug.
“I want you to have this,” he gives her diamond shaped gold earrings and gave her a hug.
“Bye.” She says. “I’ll see you later.”
She steps onto her doorstep, into the world, and walks to the train station, stuffing her earrings in her pockets of her hoodie.
