Fairies and Cookies Solo Fanatically Festive Fairies

December 22nd
The merry smiles, laughs, and downfall of snow within the Great Hall was all that was needed in order for anyone to realize that the holidays were already here. Hunter hadn't quite realized how the jolly-hood of others was swiftly spreading like a disease throughout the school. A pandemic of celebration, sweets, and decorations was filling the souls of almost every student. Hunter luckily got the chance to volunteer and help out with the decoration of Hogwarts, through the usage of fairies. Perhaps "usage" wasn't the right term, after all the fairies should be considered more as people rather than objects or tools. Although, Hunter wasn't always convinced of this.

Hunter knew of potions, and he's always wanted to follow in his father's and grandmother's love for the subject. His father had a job of collecting potion ingredients, and as such, Hunter wanted to follow in his father's footsteps. The wings of the two faires in front of him were interesting. Hunter read that the wings of a fairy were used in both the girding potion and the beautification potion. The potion themselves weren't important to Hunter, but he always loved the process of brewing new things. The difficulty, the smell, the feeling of ingredients beneath his nails, it was a thrill for him. However, Hunter wasn't an idiot and knew he couldn't harm his newly found friends.

For now, Hunter opened his personal journal and tried to take notes on the creatures. With quill and ink, he studied the tiny humanoids rather than find a spot for them to illuminate the room. He also had an old gingerbread house he made during the week next to his journal as well as a stack of cookies with some powdered sugar. Just sitting with his sweets and writing into his journal was of course not very amusing for the fairies; the two of them weren't going to stay quiet about it. They constantly buzzed and buzzed and buzzed, as if there was no day like tomorrow to stop buzzing. This was unpleasant for not just the fairies, but also for Hunter. The noise they made was beginning to give him a headache, and he really didn't want to stand another second around them. Hunter had "Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them" by his side with his notes. Fairies were born from eggs and grew in cocoons, despite their appearances they are nothing more but similar to bugs and insects.

Eventually, Hunter grabbed some cookies covered in powdered sugar. Sweets were the best part of the holiday to him, and it was bound to be the only thing to keep him sane from the constant buzzing of the two fairies. As he lifted the cookie, eyes still focused on his writing, he immediately noticed the sounds had stopped. There were still background noises of students talking and being busy, but the buzzing... it stopped. Hunter looked up and saw the fairies frozen in awe by the... cookie? Hunter was stunned for a bit as well, but soon after decided to break a few pieces and crumbs and hand them to the fairies. They cautiously grabbed the sweets, sniffed them a little, and eventually took a bite. With their pupils dilated, and jaws curving into a bright smile, they devoured the pieces they had. This... surprisingly amused Hunter, and he handed them a few more crumbs of sugar powdered cookies. The fairies flew around him, and danced on his books, creating a bit of a mess. Again, Hunter wasn't bothered but amused by the frantic actions the fairies were playing.

A bit more time, and a bit more powdered sugar, and Hunter and the fairies began to enjoy each other a bit more and more. Hunter eventually closed his journal, and decided it was about time he found a spot and create something nice for the fairies to stay by. Hunter looked over to his journal and found his previously built gingerbread house. He created it yesterday in celebration of Yuletide, but he never planned to eat it. It must have hardened greatly by now, and it served the purpose of being more of a chest for other sweets rather than an actual treat. Perhaps it could serve a purpose as a house rather than a chest after all, maybe both. Hunter grabbed the mini gingerbread house and removed its rooftop. He then filled the house with a few more cookies, but left the roof open. It took a while afterward to wait on the fairies to calm down, but eventually, the sugar rush had fallen out of them. Hunter gestured the fairies to the mini gingerbread house, and once they sat on the edges of the walls, Hunter picked it up: "Now, where to put you two." Hunter looked around as the "snow-covered" fairies with their white powdered noses began to dance and buzz with glee on the edges of their temporary new home.

It took Hunter a while, but he eventually decided on the best location for the house. He placed it on the ledge above the fireplace that was on the left wall (if you walk into the Great Hall). The warmth of the fire and the sweet cookies within the house were bound to be a good spot for fairies. Hunter placed the house with the fairies in their new spot, and he actually enjoyed the small amount of time they spent together: "I'll come by every so often, I'll make sure to refill your treasure soon enough," Hunter said before walking off to make a note in his journal to not mess with fairies for a while.
