Something Out Of A Story
@Henry KnightThe frigid wood of the bookshelves under Edme's hand bit down on her thoughts, causing shivers down their spine. It was still winter at the old castle, inside and out.
It seemed the library was a haven for Edme, a space where you were quite literally obligated to be quiet. She could go by those rules any day, especially whilst studying.
They weren't the greatest fan of studying, sitting down and staring at nonsensical words for a few hours before deciding you were set after re-reading a page thirty times just to understand the use of the word 'cede'.
That's what had led Edme to wandering about the bookshelves, trying to find a dictionary. They had all kinds of books, from books on magic to muggle studies to chemistry to fiction, and yet they didn't seem to have a regular muggle dictionary.
Her hand landed on a large book with the words 'dictionary' emblazoned on the spine, a crimson red splashed on the book like a bloodied handkerchief. They grabbed it out thankfully, flipping the pages to make sure it was actually a dictionary and not some magical portal to a second world or something. You could never know with this place.
Thankfully, it was a regular old word sorter, and a heavy one at that. She placed it on ground by the chair they had occupied an hour before. Heaving it into her lap, she flipped through the pages and then looked back down at the other book, a medium sized book on nothing but herbology.
Starting to make sense of the words, they lost herself in the pages and began to suck in the information, as well as a twelve year old could that is.
The cold beginning to set in, she tried to fix the light brown collared jacket she had brought along for warmth. In the process of doing so, the big red book in their lap slipped off the chair and fell with a horrifying THUD!WC:337

Another day in the library. It was crisp that day, even in the library. The third year usually wore long sleeves so it didn't bother him that much. Deciding to head to the library for a moment alone with a book. Even though Henry has friends and enjoys spending time with them, the teen still is an introvert who needs a moment or two alone. Preferably with a book.
The teen spent much of the morning gazing for books in the library, going from aisle to aisle for books that he hadn't quite read yet. Henry still had his goal of reading every single book in that library till graduation which he planned to do. His eyes flickering past titles as he walked into a row, running a hand along the spines of each book. Looking for one that spoke to him, that draws him in.
Henry spends countless hours in that library, sometimes with friends but other times alone with only his orange feline; Loki. However, the teen hadn't experienced an adventure of his own. Haven't had a moment that felt as if it belonged in a story. Walking along the row, looking for a hook. Loki stood at the end, watching his owner with amber eyes. A quiet morning it seemed...
A loud crash sent Loki jumping into the air and letting out a loud and disturbing meow from fear. Henry looked over at his feline, nodding to be sure of his safety before walking down the row and exiting to the middle where he saw a student seated at a table. A student younger than him and a book on the ground. Henry walked over, emotionless face except for a concern in his blue gaze as he spoke"are you alright?" Loki hid behind his owner, looking around at the student.

@Henry KnightThe Ravenclaw was dumbstruck for a moment, embarrassed and fearful before jumping out of the seat and waving awkwardly to the stray glances that caught her eye. The cold in their face was flushed with a warm red as she knelt down to grab the book off the hard floor.
Peering up, Edme noticed the boy stepping over to her. Was he going to kick them out? Or was that the job of the librarian? Maybe she had helpers. The strange thing about the boy was the cat trailing behind him, hiding behind him timidly.
"Oh, I'm-" she heaved the book back into their arms, "-fine. Sorry, I didn't mean to cause a- uh, well, that." she did feel a bit bad for interrupting the peace. Everything had been going fine before the dang book. If anything, it was its fault for being so large and heavy. And loud.
They looked back down at the orange cat that had been following after him like a duckling to a mother. Were they even allowed cats in the library? Edme took a step back, remembering that, of course they did. It was Hogwarts. "You have a cat." She stated plainly. "I mean- your cat's nice. I like its... fur." they rocked back and forth on their feet, book steadying in her hands.WC:227

The teen eyed the student, a arch eyebow as a familiar scent drifted into his nostrils. Strange. The teen didn't focus on the fact as he stood there, book held underneath his left arm as he eyed the student. Loki peered up the student, tail flickering and amber eyes shining that gleamed with mischief.
The teen bend over, picking up the book in his hands then returning to his stance with the book held out for the student ad he spoke"you did not cause a ruckus, my name is Henry Knight and this is Loki," the teen offered a soft smile as he eye them. A first year at best, they appeared more than a single year younger than him along with the strange yet familiar scent he recognized.
The teen offered a smiled at the mention of Loki walked forward, sniffing at the student before rubbing aginest theur ankles as he spoke"it seems he likes you to which is good since he doesn't like most," leaving out how Loki treats his dorm mates the teen looked around. The library wasn't that full, it was quiet and a little empty before eyeing the student as spoke"could I join you?" not wanting to assume as he eyed the student.

@Henry KnightThe boy seemed to be far from annoyed or frustrated, but rather a bit more curious, like he was studying Edme. Not that that lasted for long as he introduced himself, assuring her that they hadn't caused a ruckus. It was a nice comfort, though Edme would admit she still felt like they had alerted a few people.
"I'm Edme." they tried a polite smile, repositioning the books that seemed to squirm in her arms. "Well, uh, hello Loki." she smiled down at the orange cat, not entirely sure what to do. The boy seemed to be quite a bit older, maybe a year or two, but still noticeably. It was a bit intimidating, but he didn't seem like the intimidating type.
The cat, still a curious thing, began to rub against Edme's ankles, practically forcing Edme to kneel down and pet the cats soft furry head. They considered saying something to compliment the little thing, but decided it was best to just bask in the moment. Standing at the ask of an invitation, Edme fixed her eyes on the boy. "Oh, I suppose so. I'm not really doing much, just studying." Although that was the reason the Ravenclaw had come down, she had probably done quite enough studying for a day.WC: 218

Edme. Henry nodded to their name. Making a mental note, there was that scent about them... one all to familiar to him but he set it aside. Taking it as another wolf was in the library, not realizing that Edme is that wolf as he offered them a soft smile.
His eyes lingered downward, watching as Loki pawed at the girl once. Holdimg his head up, amber eyes shining at the ravenclaw. The teen smiled at his feline, one to show off for attention.
The teen had his own set of books in hand, he wasn't planning to do much that day. One of the few days he didn't have pratice or meetings, where he got to do what he pleased and that would be reading. Free reading books that didn't appear that way. He enjoyed it reading ahead in classes and on different topics, nodding to their words of studying.
The teen offered a smile as they spoke"was planning to do some reading myself, want to find a table together?" A small offer as he watched them, waiting for a response as he hekd the three books he found cloae to him. Loki took the short steps from Edme back to his owner's side, amber eyes switching in between the two. Watching the interaction with great wonder.
