Winter Break (before the Christmas party thread I made )

"Juniper, keep your gloves on!" Her mother's stern voice told Juniper not to argue, but if course Juniper would. "But they make my hands sweaty and they feel weird at my fingers!" She complained, waving her gloves around.
Her mother took her hand and out the gloves on her hands. "Thats because you have long fingers, which you got from me and your grandpa. So you have to deal with it. " Juniper pulled her gloved hands away from her mom. "Why can't I just not wear them? It's not THAT cold you know! " She argued. Her mother glared at her, and her father spoke up. Usually her father didn't enjoy shopping, but he was here to help with the Christmas gift buying for the magical side if the family.

"Let's all chill out, okay? JJ, put your gloves on and don't complain." She couldn't help but smile even though she was getting told what to do. 'JJ' was an old thing. Her parents thought she was going to be a boy, so they were going to name her something that started with J, and give her a middle name that started with J so she could be JJ. However, she turned out to be girl. Still, this didn't stop them from their plan and they still sometimes called her JJ. "UGH FINNEEEEE" She sighed. Her mother turned sharply. "I'm sorry, what was that?"
Juniper paused and gave a smile. " I said ' of course best father in the world, whatever you say' " her mother didn't laugh.
"Grumpy." Juniper mumbled under her breath. Her brother, Tony, chuckled since he heard her. They let their parents walk ahead a bit, and he lowered his voice. "Shes just stressed for some reason. Do you know why?" Juniper shrugged. "I don't knowwwww! Do you?" Her brother shook his head. "Nope."

She nodded and they walked in silence for a bit. Her parents turned around and called out to them. Juniper and Tony shoved each other aside to reach their parents first. Juniper arrived a second after Tony, out if breath. "Reporting for duty!" She said. Her brother snorted. "You're such a dork" he ruffled up her hair with his hand, and she slapped his hand away.

Her dad smiled. " You guys can go buy yourselves something of your own while me and your mom get some drinks and meet some friends, sound okay? Just don't get anything... we would say no to. " Her and Tony shared an evil grin. Her mother looked at Tony. "I trust you to be responsible." Tony waved his hand. "Of course, you have fun!" Her mother kissed them both on the head, and they stood watching their parents walk away.

They turned to each other. "Freedom" they said and laughed. They turned and ran to the ice cream shop, getting themselves ice cream. Then they checked out the joke shop and loaded up on goodies.

They ran down the streets, and Juniper stopped at the pet store. "OMG DID THEY GET NEW PETS?!" She said, pressing her face to the glass. Her brother peered in. "I dunno.. but what about your frog?"
She shrugged. "He's too little anyways, I can't keep up with his needs. He can stay at home!"
She ran into the shop, her brother following.

She headed to where the Ferrets were, and smiled. Finally, she spotted a baby ferret. Adorable! Her heart warmed at the sight. "I'm buying her." Tony paused. "Uh is that a g-" Juniper pushed past.
"Yes. Yes it is." She headed to the counter and dumped the money. " I'm adopting this ferret, and her name is Poppy. "
