First time in the Hogwarts Express
Wednesday 1st September 2021 (Backdated)
The Hogwarts Express. Lily could not believe she was finally taking the famous train to Hogwarts. She felt a weird mix of emotions: sadness to be away from her family, fear of not fitting in, the anxiety of new beginnings... but also the excitement to discover Hogwarts, the curiosity to finally see the castle she'd dreamt about, the desire to learn everything there was to learn.
Lily was sitting in a compartment by herself, but she didn't mind. In fact, she was so nervous she wasn't sure she could talk to anyone right now. Besides, she had the whole year to make friends, right? She was so excited about the Sorting ceremony. No matter how bad Lily and her brother Jesse had begged their mother and grandmother to explain it to them, the two witches had never said anything about it.
"That would spoil all the fun!"
That's what her grandma always said when they asked about it. When they asked about anything Hogwarts related really. Lily's grandfather, who was the real storyteller in the family, would probably cave in at some point. Unfortunately for Lily and Jesse, their grandpa had been a Beauxbâtons student and therefore the only things he knew about Hogwarts were old memories of the few months he'd spent there during his fourth year for the Triwizard Tournament... So Lily had read every book she could find in her mother's library about Hogwarts. But even with all of the information she had, she didn't really know what to expect. But one thing was for sure, she was eager to discover every corner of the castle!
