Alone
There was a drizzle and a tiny breeze that faced the northeast. A limousine wheeled the corner, making citizens gawk. A butler got out of the driver's seat and bustled over to the back of the limousine, then opened the door. An eleven-year-old girl emerged from the limousine with her hood over her head, clearly not wanting to get spotted. Prisha rolled her eyes underneath her hood, muttering about the people staring at her as if she was another species. She pulled off her hood, revealing waist-length long, wavy, brownish hair. Her hair flew back along with the wind.
Prisha sighed as she entered Kings Cross alone, with no one except her butler there with her. She had imagined many variations of what could have happened on the phenomenal day of the journey to Platform 9 3/4, was certainly not one of them. Prisha pictured her mother there with her skipping towards the platform. Whereas reality, she walked with her head down towards Platform 9 3/4 while her butler scurried along. Oh, how she wished her mother was there. But she was gone, dead, and there was absolutely no way she was going to allow this day to be a total letdown. So she took her bags from the butler, waited for a perfect moment no muggles were watching and started running towards the platform, letting a small grin escape.
Prisha emerged from the other side. She looked nearby and saw kids with their parents, hugging them goodbye. Her lip quivered, and a single teardrop fell from her eye. She quickly whisked the tear away. She sighed and pulled herself away from the memories surrounding her.

Getting to the station hadn't been easy. He had managed to smuggle his giant trunk aboard a muggle bus, ignoring the suspicious stares from what seemed like hundreds of muggles, and pretend like walking into a wall was perfectly normal. Even though it was his second time already doing this, it still felt weird.
He spluttered and coughed on the smoke he'd accidentally inhaled deeply back at the muggle platforms, and bent over to grab a breath. Straightening back up, Suzuki grabbed his trunk and lifted it. It was lighter than most people's (Suzuki was a minimalist), but still quite heavy, especially because he had neglected to obtain a trolley.
He squinted past the rows of families, searching for maybe a familiar face. He saw, however, not anyone he knew from the past year, but a young girl with long dark hair standing alone and- was she crying?? Either she had lost her parents in the ruckus, or just didn't have any to begin with. Like Suzuki, except he did have his mother, but for the fact she didn't give a shit for him.
He hauled his trunk over to her, and set it down.
" First year? No parents with you? Me too. Well, it's not my first year, but your circumstances were similar to mine when it was my first year. You excited for Hogwarts?"
