Fantastic Book, But Where to Find It?

It was nearing closer to Winter holiday which meant Simon wanted to get in as much last minute researching as he could. Most of the students that went to the Library nearing the end of a term like this would be cramming for exams but he wanted to utilize what time he had into finding the best list of books that he could and maybe check some out over the break.
He had discovered that many of the books he looked through mentioned a sort of sacred text within the world of learning about other magical sort of beings and that was "Fantastic Beats and Where to Find Them," written by a magizoologist named Newt Scamander who also happened to be a Hogwarts alumni, also from his beloved house of Hufflepuff. This was a book that Simon hadn't come across yet because it always seemed to be checked out.
Still, bearing hope, that day he went to the shelves in the Magical Creatures section and looked for it, skimming his finger along the spines of the other books as he did so. Nope. Not there. If he knew how popular this book was, he would have picked up a copy of it when he was in Diagon Alley over the past Summer. Oh well, maybe over the break he could head there.
Simon came to one of the wooden tables near the section and only saw one person sitting down, although it could seat four. "Mind if I share your space?" he asked her. All the other places were full from the multitude of students. The Library wasn't used to such an expanse of students!

Fantastic Book, But Where to Find It?
Rose looked up at the boy, placing her bookmark between the pages of her book and closing it, revealing that it was the book he was looking for. "Um...yeah, sure. Go ahead," she said, motioning towards the seat next to her. "I'm not expecting anyone, so, you can sit if you want."
She had owned the book since the beginning of her school year, and fell in love with it. She loved reading about the different types of species, and she thought that the best part was the fact that you could find them anywhere. She had wanted to take a trip to find every single one of the animals in the book. However, she didn't have the funding.
She turned to Simon. "Are you expecting anyone at all or...?" she asked. "I can move somewhere else if that's the case. I don't want to be intruding on a private conversation of some sort, ya'know?" she explained, turning back to her book and opening it to the bookmarked page.
"Say, have you ever read this book?" she said, pointing to the page she was on. "It's called Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them. It's a really good book. Ever heard of it?"

Sitting down with @Roseann Parker
"No, you've got me all to yourself," he smiled to show he was only joking. He really wasn't a conceited person. Well, he often PLAYED a conceited person but truly he wasn't. "And even if I was expecting others, this was your space first. I was just trying to figure out what books I might want to take out for Winter Break when I go back to London." Simon sat down since he seemed welcomed.
She then began to make small talk with him and he smiled, glad that she wasn't too busy and could spare a moment. What Simon liked best of all was spending time with people so he welcomed a conversation over words in a book any day. He glanced down to the cover because she had asked if he had read it and he shook his head. "I've been trying to find that book since August," he laughed. "I think the Library itself owns several copies of it but they're always checked out. I even tried to bribe one of the library elves but they didn't take too kindly to that."
"I hope to read up on it sometime. Crazy that there are so many things out there that exist." That was both the muggle world and their animal and plant kingdom, as well as the wizarding one. They truly were fantastic beasts. "Does that have like...unicorns and dragons and only those sorts of magical creatures or does it have other things too like...werewolves and vampires?"

Fantastic Book, But Where to Find It?
Rose was surprised he hadn't ever at least TOUCHED the book, let alone see it. However, after thinking about the popularity of the book, it made sense that he wasn't able to get a hold of it.
When Simon asked the question about the book, she answered politely. "Yeah, it talks about a lot of things, I don't think vampires are among them, however. I think werewolves are though." she said, flipping the pages to the table of contents. "I can't seem to find anything about them, but I'm sure they're in there."
She closed the book, and stood up from her seat. She decided to take a stretch break, as her legs kind of hurt from sitting for so long. After her two minutes of stretching she sat back down to face Simon. "So, you're telling me you've never, EVER, had a legitimate copy of Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them?" she asked, surprised that he didn't pick one up from Diagon Alley during his first year. "On my school supply list, they had us pick up that book. That's this copy right here. This isn't from a library or anything. I own this book. So, how come you didn't pick one up when you started here?"

"Well, we don't have Care of Magical Creatures until Third Year," he tried to defend himself, but he wasn't so hot to get his hands on a copy now if there wasn't any information about vampires in it. That was his primary reason for trying to obtain a copy. "I'll have to pick one up sometime," he said as he looked down on it, curious what other sorts of magical creatures rested within the wizarding world that he hadn't heard of yet.
"If you could see any sort of magical creature, right now, and your safety and all of that was guaranteed, which would you want to see?" he asked her curiously and then realized he didn't even know the redhead's name that he was sitting with. Granted, he at least knew that she was a Gryffindor due to her school uniform.
"Oh, and I'm Simon by the way," he said as he brought out his hand if she wished to shake in a formal sort of introduction. He liked such pleasantries. "Simon Kincaid." And once again he didn't need to state which house he was from, as he still had on his white button down shirt, the Hufflepuff color striped tie, and the yellow lined grey school sweater that showed he was in the house of Hufflepuff.

"Um...that's a pretty good question. I'd...I'd have to think about that one. Also, nice to meet you, Simon," she said, as she stuck out her hand and shook Simon's. "I'm Roseann. But I prefer to be called Rose."
After ending the handshake, she sat back down. "Also, if you really want a copy of the book, you can buy one in Diagon Alley at the bookstore. That's where I got my copy." she said, holding her book in the air. "It's pretty cheap, and it's a good read, if you're interested in that kind of stuff."
Rose had never had this long of a conversation before. She was happy that she was able to keep talking to this boy without getting embarrassed or saying something weird. It was a good feeling. And, apparently, a feeling she decided to share with Simon for no reason. "You know, I've never actually had this long of a conversation. You're probably the first person I've ever talked to for this long, ya'know?" she said. Rose went on and on and on about this, until she finally realized that she was talking a LOT.
"Oh...uh, sorry about that. I don't know why I just explained all of that, but..." she said, looking down, her cheeks red.

Glad to be in Gryffindor, @Roseann Parker?
"No, no, I'm glad, Rose. Talk away. It's the best way for two people to get to know each other," he said, using the nickname that she preferred to be called. "Another Rose from the Gryffindor house," he reminded himself. That might help him remember her name. He liked trying to remember names, because it showed people that he cared about them and he did. He was very much a people person.
"My girlfriend is in Gryffindor," he felt he should elaborate. "Her name is Haley. Surname is Rose. She's a redhead too," he said as he glanced over Rose's hair. "Not that it matters," he laughed a little. "I'd want to see a dragon. I mean, nearly all things in the wizarding world are exciting but I personally think none beat a dragon. A real life frickin' DRAGON."
If someone were to ask the twelve year old Simon Kincaid what they wanted to do when they graduated from Hogwarts, he probably would have said something with dragons. As time would mold and shape him though, his true destiny would want to become a healer. Still, current mindset rested with dragons. The boy might have a girlfriend already, but he was still twelve.
"I heard that the guy that wrote that went to Hogwarts," he said, speaking of the author. "We had to read on him about some of the famous alumni in History of Magic. He was a fellow Hufflepuff. I'm not going to say we're the best house but..." once again, he smiled. He really needed to stop playing around about being conceited when he first met someone or they'd think that was truly how he was.
"First year, right? I think I remember your sorting." Redheads did often capture his attention. "What are your thoughts? Glad to be among the red and gold?"

"Yeah, it's pretty cool. I like being here. Everyone is super nice and accepting. I'm glad I'm here." she said, looking up at Simon. "This is like a dream come true, but..." she said, looking despondent.
"I've always wanted to be an actor. But with all this wizarding stuff, I haven't really had time to act. It kinda sucks, because this all came through and sidetracked everything I wanted to do. I mean, I'm really, REALLY happy that I'm here, but...It makes it even harder to do what I actually want to do. I don't know, maybe I'll change my mind later, but right now, I just keep thinking about how much better my life would be if I didn't get accepted here. And, I know it seems like I'm just going on and on and on...but..."
Rose paused and took a deep breath.
"What I'm trying to say is, I love acting. It's one of my favorite things to do. And getting accepted into Hogwarts was a dream come true, but I just want to make time for acting as well. It's something that I want to do for a living, and being a wizard is just a plus. At least, that's what I think."

Fantastic Book, But Where to Find It?
A proposal of sorts to @Roseann Parker
"I get it, I get it," he said, feeling as if he understood what she meant. "Music is my....passion. It's literally on my mind every moment I'm awake." - Which was a lot for a dhampir.
"I like to sing and I like to dance and I like to write music. I can play the guitar and the piano and the drums and I'm trying to learn more instruments. It's just there and I can't do as much with it here at Hogwarts. I can't even have my iPhone and listen to Apple Music, you know? It's crazy but you adapt and you figure out what you CAN do with it."
"I took theater back at my muggle school in London. I mean, I might not be the absolute best actor but I've got the hair," he brushed his hand through his own, "I've got the smile," he flashed one," and I've got the wink." Simon ended up laughing though at that and didn't get to the wink. "No, no, what I'm really trying to say is, we should meet up sometime int he Rehearsal Room on the Fourth Floor. Have you been there yet?" It was greatly underutilized by the Hogwarts' student body and some didn't even know of its existence.
"You could pick out a script or a play or we could improv and I could maybe help you with your acting? If you're up for it...I think it'd be pretty cool. It'd be our own little actors guild."
