Meet Millie

Days like this were just so average. Honestly, Lizzy thought going to Hogwarts would mean the end of mediocre days, but even in the magnificent castle there were days that felt so average in the grand scheme of things. True, Lizzy had made several friends that she could go to to brighten up or make her day more interesting, but what she needed was just to sit down and think.
Sighing, Lizzy sat down in the Small Hall. Silently, she watched the dozens of other people bustle around the room. They all looked as if they had better things to do than wander about the castle in a tired daze. She had better things to be doing too, but she just didn't feel like doing a single one of them.
The days until the holiday break were numbered, and then she could finally go home and see her brother. She had been chosen to come here to Hogwarts, while he had not. Lizzy had left him behind back in London and she was aching to see him again. They had written each other a few letters, but it wasn't the same as talking to him face to face.
Perhaps that was the source of her downcast attitude. Homesickness had been bothering her for quite a while, and it looked like it had come back again today. Lizzy didn't have a single person here that she could talk to about it. Everyone seemed so at home here, like this was where they belonged. Lizzy felt the same way, but she also felt like she belonged back home in London too. How could one belong in two places at once? The answer was you couldn't. You would have to choose the place that was better for you, and Lizzy didn't know if she could do that.
