[font=Corbel Light]Annie had been so excited all morning; it was officially 2 weeks until Christmas! Winter break was just around the corner, she was going home to see her friends and family, and at long last, she was finally settling in at Hogwarts. It had taken a bit of time - a big learning curve, in fact - but Annie thought she was finally getting a hang of this magic malarky.

She'd woken up bright and early that morning, having perched herself on the window sill of the girls' dormitory and watched the first snow settle upon the grounds. Today was Saturday, and for once, she didn't have anything planned. Normally she'd have some homework, or an errand to run, but today she was going to have some fun.

Snowy fun, to be exact.

Wrapping up in her biggest cloak and popping on her (matching) scarlet hat, gloves, and scarf, she hurried outside into the Courtyard, expecting to find it reasonably empty. Breakfast had only just finished, and she imagined many were still finishing off their food and waking up for the day. However, there was already a boy there.

"Hey, Avery," Annie said brightly, coming over to see what he was doing and flashing him a smile. "Wow, are you making a snowman?" She added eagerly. "Mind if I join?" Annie had been about to do the exact same thing and it felt silly to do two separate ones. She'd bumped into Avery a few times in class, but they'd yet to have a real conversation. Hopefully, today they could change that.

The clouds had been heavy and gray all week; snow was bound to fall sooner or later. The small boy gazed out of the window in his room each day, hoping to finally catch sight of the first snow. And, on this fateful morning when he would tumble out of bed and gaze outside, he would find scattered snowflakes drifting from the sky, and a thick, clean blanket of white on the ground outside. He threw his arms joyously into the air, only remembering to stifle his excitement and 'hoorays' at the last second. He turned around and gazed apologetically to his sleeping bunkmate, Henry. It was a week before the full moon, and the older boy was already starting to show signs of fatigue ahead of his monthly transformation. Avery decided that it was best not to wake him; surely, Henry needed all the rest he could get this week before spending an entire night at the Shrieking Shack.

He got ready quickly and headed to the Great Hall for breakfast: grabbed a pastry, chugged some milk, and stuffed some fruit into his mouth before running into the courtyard. He was all bundled up, and he was ready. Unable to contain himself any longer, he whooped loudly and landed in the snow on his back, sweeping his arms and legs into a snow angel. The snow was perfect; crisp, white, clean, fluffy...just what he wanted. The snow crystals crunched cheerily as he flapped his angel wings.

Angel complete, he got up and surveyed the Courtyard. Several older students had already begun to gather, but there was still plenty of space for a snowman. He had brought a carrot and some grapes from breakfast for the snowman's face, and he set them on the ground nearby. Time to make that first big, huge ball of snow! He gathered some snow and began to roll until it got bigger and bigger. There we go! First big ball of snow complete! He patted it carefully into a rounder sphere, and began to work on the second big ball.

"Hey, Avery," a girl's cheery voice greeted him, and he turned around to see a fellow Gryffindor first-year. Antoinette Asteria, wasn't it? And she went by 'Annie'? He wasn't very good with names, usually, but after a few months of school, he knew the names of almost all his classmates. He was never shy about asking people questions if they sat near him during class, after all. Surely he had bothered her at least once or twice, in some class or another, but he hadn't really gotten to know her yet. "Wow, are you making a snowman? Mind if I join?" From her voice, he could tell that she was just as eager to build this snowman as he was, and that was all it took for him to beam back at her with a wide grin. "Of course, feel free to join!" he said, gazing back at the work he'd done so far. "I could use a little help with this second big ball of snow. They get really heavy to roll around, actually. Maybe you can join me in rolling it around a bit more?" With that, he put his weight into rolling the ball of snow, which hardly budged. "I really don't know how I managed the first ball of snow by myself," he said with a chuckle and wiped a sleeve across his brow to take a breather. "Quidditch practice is only helpful up to a certain point!" However, he was quite sure that if he hadn't picked up quidditch, there was no way he could've done anything as the scrawny boy he was three months ago.

"So, have you built many snowmen before? This is actually my first one, so I'm really really excited," he shared. A thought occurred to him. Did snowmen have names? "Do you think we should name it something? I wonder what his or her personality or story would be like," he mused. Well, he had a feeling that this snowman was stubborn and didn't like to move much, for sure.

Judging on how cold it was there was no doubt for Hildegard that snow was coming soon, so every day she would wake up earlier hopping to see snow before everyone else and be able to play with it all for herself.
And that fateful day came, it was early in the morning, Hildegard putted a winter cloak with a green scarf with Slytherin's logo on it.
The girl ate something quickly in the great hall and first went on the ground, playing with snow, and making a snowman.
She was lonely, Walter did not seem to want to join her this early in such a cold place, she really wished to have a legitimate friend during those moment.

-Having a snowball fight would have been the best ! She thought to herself.

Still she was satisfied, she was having fun alone, believing that she did not need friend and could have fun and be happy without them.
Later she went to the Courtyard, and saw an angel on the snowy ground, she laid down near it and tried making one too.
Hers was a failure of course, rather it looked like an angel wearing a cool video game outfit.
She got up and as she was about to leave she saw the angel's owner.
Avery Chen the despicable wizard accompanied by a Gryffindor girl that looked like a first year too.
Hildegard looked at the angel on the ground that was here before hers and compared it's size with Avery's proportion.

-It's his ! She thought while immediately erasing from the ground.

The Slytherin girl observed them, they seemed to have fun building a snowman,

- Who is she ? Is she his girlfriend or something ?

She hated seeing him happy, her face still remembered the pain of his "gorilla punch".
Yet she was now scared of him, she thought of him ultimately as a brute who putted on the nice guy mask in front of everyone.

Hildegard wanted revenge over everything and even if she was scared hate was stronger,

I know what I will do ! She thought.

The girl took out an enchanted snowball that she managed to get her hand on, grabbed it with her left hand while pointing her wand at it with her right hand.

-Engorgio ! She whispered.

The snowball got way bigger, enough for it to destroy the snowman and hit one person at the same time.

Hildegard waited while staying hidden, she waited for them to finish the snowman, planning to throw it at them before they could envoy any joy of finishing it.

-To think I was the one hopping for a snowball fight, and now I'm just trying to avoid it.

When the right moment came, Hildegard throwed her big snowball aiming at Avery and the snowman.
However she miscalculated, the snowball was too big for her not to lose a bit of balance while throwing it, resulting in her almost falling and not having time to retreat properly.
She got back into her hiding eventually, not sure if they had witnessed her, feeling fear, satisfaction and rage as destroying his snowman certainly would not be enough for Avery to pay for his deeds.
