I'm currently reading Goosebumps The Ghost Next Door. It's actually pretty good xD
But James Patterson is always a good author.
Also, Mercedes Lackey, Tamora Pierce and Amelia Atwater-Rhodes.

I've been re-reading a few Skulduggery Pleasant books lately since the last one came out a little while ago! They're fantasy slash adventure slash mystery with a little bit of sci-fi and horror too

It’s about two twins and they find an alternative storybook universe. Their dad died, but he is from this land, and they don’t find that part till the end of the first book, when they also find out their paternal grandmother is the Fairy Godmother. There is also a prequel series that Chris Colfer, the author, is writing and it’s really good .
